Choosing

Should you choose cross-platform, native or a web app?

For an app built around accounts, forms, lists, maps, bookings, payments or content, a cross-platform build is often a practical starting point. React Native shares most of the code across iOS and Android while using each platform’s own interface components. It is written in JavaScript or TypeScript, so web developers can contribute and some logic can be shared with a React website. We generally recommend it for apps that fit this pattern, and choose native development when deep device features call for it.

Flutter is another cross-platform option. It uses Dart and draws its own interface, which suits a heavily branded design where screens need to look identical across platforms. Your team needs to be comfortable working in Dart. A progressive web app is worth considering for a staff tool: it skips store review, although it will not appear in the app stores unless packaged for them. On iPhone, it can ask to send notifications only after someone adds it to the Home Screen. The choice affects both how people access the product and how your team maintains it.

Market

What should your app offer customers in Kuwait?

A shop or restaurant serving repeat customers can use an app for reordering and loyalty, with a quick checkout and notifications timed around the customer’s activity. An appointment business needs booking, reminders and a staff view of the schedule. Start with the task your customers return to most often.

Arabic is the official language, and English is widely used in business. We can design screens and language selection for both audiences. For checkout, the payment route follows what you sell: Apple requires in-app purchase for digital content and subscriptions used in the app, while physical goods and services used outside it need another payment method. If your provider uses KNET, we account for its direct card-number entry in the checkout flow.

Rules

What does a mobile app project in Kuwait need to handle?

If you are a CITRA-licensed service provider covered by its data privacy regulation, the app needs explicit consent before collecting personal data, with terms available in Arabic and English. We set up the consent step and links to those terms in the relevant screens. The requirement also affects your operating process: we plan a breach-reporting workflow alongside the app, so the people responsible know how to act if personal data is exposed.

How it runs

How a mobile app development project runs with us

We work remotely over video calls, WhatsApp and shared project boards. India is 2h30m ahead, so we keep decisions and feedback on the shared board as well as discussing them on calls.

  1. 01

    Discover

We learn about your business, audience and goals, then agree the scope with you. Bring the main customer task you want the app to support.

  2. 02

    Design

We make a clickable prototype for you to put in front of a few customers or staff. Their feedback helps us change screens before they are built, when changes are cheaper.

  3. 03

    Build

For a cross-platform project, we use a React Native codebase for both platforms and add native modules where needed. You review the work against the agreed scope.

  4. 04

    Test

We send builds to your own phone through TestFlight or Google Play’s internal or closed testing tracks. Try the main tasks in real use and tell us where they need work.

  5. 05

    Prepare for review

If the app has a login, have a working demo account and live backend ready for submission. Leave room in the launch plan for fixes and resubmission if needed.

Checklist

What to have ready before we talk

A few decisions and details make the first discussion more useful.

  • List the tasks users need in the first release, in the order they will do them.
  • Note the website, CRM, booking system, payment provider or other software involved, whether each has an API, and who holds admin access.
  • Have a privacy policy that matches the data the app collects; Apple requires a link in the listing and inside the app.
  • Plan account deletion if users can sign upApple expects an in-app route, and Google Play also requires a web request link.
  • Check the closed-testing requirement if you will use a new personal Google Play developer account.

Cost & time

What affects the cost and timeline of mobile app development?

The amount of design, integration and testing work shapes both cost and delivery.

  • User roles

Customers, drivers and staff need different screens and permissions, even when they use the same backend.

  • Live features

Tracking, chat and presence need persistent connections and more backend work than screens that load data on request.

  • Integrations

A payment gateway, CRM, booking system or scanner needs setup, testing and handling for failures.

  • Screen design

Custom animation, additional languages, right-to-left scripts and tablet layouts add design and testing across screens.

Avoid

Mistakes to avoid with mobile app development

  • Wrapping a website in an app shell

Give people useful app functionality. Apple’s guidelines expect more than a repackaged site, and a wrapper risks rejection.

  • Demanding sign-up before showing value

Let people use the parts that do not need an account. Apple asks for this where an app has no significant account-based features.

  • Requesting notification permission at first launch

Ask when the benefit is clear, such as after an order. Android notifications remain off until the user allows them.

  • Adding an analytics or advertising SDK without updating privacy answers: Review the data it collects and include third-party SDK collection in Google Play’s Data safety form.

Questions

Asked by businesses in Kuwait

Page updated 5 November 2026

How much does it cost to develop an app?

There is no fixed price: the scope determines the work. A documented API on an existing backend can reduce it, while a new backend and admin panel add substantial development. Native development also means maintaining separate iPhone and Android codebases. Agree the first-release tasks and the systems involved before asking for a quote.

How do I choose a company for app development?

Choose a company whose proposed build fits how your customers will use the product. For a consumer or marketplace app, ask how it will cover both stores and measure returning users. If customers already use your web platform frequently, discuss how the app will reuse their accounts and data before adding separate systems.

What is included behind the app screens?

The backend holds the accounts and data that make the screens work. We can build a shared backend for your app, website and admin tools. Plan analytics and crash reporting in the first release too: tools such as Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics show screen use, drop-off points and devices affected by crashes.

Will you publish the app under my accounts?

Yes. We handle the App Store and Google Play listings, submission and review under your own developer accounts. We also handle release. Keep access to those accounts available during the project, because the listings and submissions need to sit under your ownership while we prepare the app for the stores.

Will I own the code after the app is built?

Yes. You own your code, content and domain, with no lock-in. Discuss the handover as part of the project scope so you know what you will receive and can keep control of those assets after launch. That gives you the option to decide how the product is maintained later.

What happens after the app launches?

We provide ongoing support for bug fixes, operating-system updates and new features. Plan maintenance releases: Google Play requires apps and updates to target a recent Android API level. After release, review how many people return, where they leave the main task and the crash-free rate, rather than treating download counts as the only measure.
