Choosing

Which platform should you choose?

WooCommerce suits a business already using WordPress or publishing substantial content. It gives you control over code, data and hosting, but someone needs to manage hosting, updates, security and plugin compatibility. A custom or headless storefront, such as Next.js connected to a commerce back end, fits unusual catalogues, configurators and content-led brands. It takes more build effort, and most later changes need a developer.

An own store gives you control of customer data and margin, although you need to attract visitors to it. Marketplaces bring ready traffic, but set the rules and keep the customer relationship. You can use both and sync stock. If you plan to sell across borders, allow for decisions about market-specific prices, currencies, tax display, duties, translations and delivery; some platforms need extensions for these. Shopify is the simplest option to run, while WooCommerce and custom builds suit the situations above. We recommend a platform after learning about your products and operations.

Market

What buyers in Kuwait expect

Your customers need a clear way to choose and order. A brand taking orders through social media or messages might need a catalogue, online payment and order tracking. A wholesaler might need customer-specific prices, minimum quantities and quote requests. For made-to-order furniture, printing or jewellery, the store may need uploads, previews or pricing rules for customer choices.

At checkout, discuss KNET and other local gateway options with your payment provider. Gateway choice also depends on where your business is registered, the currencies you sell in and your platform. Compare cards, wallets, bank transfers, pay-later and cash on delivery, as well as settlement, refunds and disputes, before we configure the available methods.

Rules

What your ecommerce project in Kuwait has to handle

Online providers must issue an electronic invoice in Arabic; other languages can be added. We set up the invoice output with Arabic included, and discuss any additional language you want customers to receive.

Your store must display your name or trade name, registration number and contact details prominently. We make room for the required email, phone and website links in the store layout, so shoppers can find the business information.

The withdrawal period for online purchases is 14 days from receipt, with exceptions including used, custom-made and downloaded digital products. We set up a returns page that explains the period and any exceptions applicable to your products.

How it runs

How an ecommerce project runs with us

We work remotely from India using video calls, WhatsApp and a shared project board. IST is 2h30m ahead; the board gives both sides a place to share feedback and keep work moving across that difference.

  1. 01

    Discover

We learn about your business, customers and goals. You show us how you sell and fulfil orders, and we agree the store scope together.

  2. 02

    Design and build

We prepare desktop and mobile designs for your feedback before coding. We then build the store and test it on real devices and browsers.

  3. 03

    Check product data

We import a small sample first. You check titles, variants, prices and images before we use the agreed format for the full catalogue.

  4. 04

    Test orders

You place orders across payment methods, shipping zones, discounts and tax cases. We check paid, failed, cancelled and refunded orders, including stock, emails and the order record.

  5. 05

    Launch and care

We set up the domain, email, analytics and search, then provide ongoing support after the store goes live.

Checklist

What to have ready before we talk

These materials and decisions help us understand what the store needs.

  • Product photosKeep high-resolution originals, with consistent backgrounds and proportions, several angles and an image for each colour variant.
  • Gateway documentsGather business registration, bank and identity details. Open the account in your business name and apply early; the provider decides approval.
  • Account accessHave your domain, DNS, existing site, email, analytics and Google logins available in your business name.
  • PoliciesPrepare plain-language shipping, returns, refund, privacy and terms policies.
  • Operating decisionsCheck taxes with your accountant and decide your couriers, delivery areas, charges and cash-on-delivery offer.

Cost & time

What affects the cost and timeline?

The amount of work depends on what is ready and what the store must do.

  • Product data

A clean spreadsheet is easier to import than information spread across an old store, supplier PDFs and photos in chat threads.

  • Design

Adapting an existing theme is smaller work than creating a custom design around unusual products or a distinct brand.

  • Integrations

An order export to accounting is smaller than syncing stock and prices in both directions with an ERP or several marketplaces.

  • Migration

Moving products alone has a different scope from also moving customers, order history, reviews and gift cards. Existing customers usually need a password reset.

Avoid

Mistakes to avoid

  • Adding a plugin for every small feature

Each can add scripts, admin clutter, conflicts or recurring fees. Review what each plugin does and remove those you no longer use.

  • Showing delivery and tax charges only at the end

Surprise costs can cause shoppers to abandon their carts. Show estimates on product or cart pages.

  • Changing platforms without a URL plan

Map old product and category URLs to their closest new pages, including products you drop, and set up server-side permanent redirects.

Questions

Asked by businesses in Kuwait

Page updated 5 November 2026

How much does it cost to develop an ecommerce website?

There is no fixed price. Custom checkout features, pricing rules and extra markets with their own currencies, languages and tax settings all affect the work involved. Tell us which of these you need and we will send a free quote once the scope is agreed.

Can you migrate our existing store?

Yes. We migrate products, customers and order history where the existing and destination platforms allow it. We check what the platforms support before agreeing what goes into the migration, so you can see which parts of your current store are included in the move.

What does an ecommerce store build include?

It includes the catalogue, product and collection pages, cart and checkout, payment and shipping settings, order emails, customer accounts, policy pages and the admin your team uses. We also plan categories, filters and variants, including their prices, stock, SKUs and images.

Will we own the store after launch?

Yes. You own your domain, content and code, with no lock-in to the team that built the store. That gives you control over those assets if you later decide to work with someone else or make changes to how the store is managed.

How do you check that payments and emails work?

We test beyond sandbox mode with a real low-value order on live payment settings, followed by a refund. This helps catch misconfigured webhooks, currency settings and order emails. For email delivery, set up SPF or DKIM authentication on the sending domain so messages are less likely to land in spam.

What should we check after launch?

Track conversion rate, average order value, checkout drop-off, repeat purchases and product-page speed against your figures from before launch or migration. Retest the full checkout after an app, plugin or theme change, and give each staff member a separate login with only the permissions they need.
