Choosing
Should you choose cross-platform or native development?
A cross-platform app is a practical choice when your product centres on accounts, forms, lists, maps, bookings, payments or content. We usually use React Native, sharing a codebase across iOS and Android and adding native modules where a feature needs them. That gives you shared code to maintain while allowing for platform-specific work.
React Native uses JavaScript or TypeScript and renders each platform’s own interface components. If you have a React website, some logic can also be shared with it. Flutter is another cross-platform option: it uses Dart and draws its own interface, which suits a highly customised design that needs to look the same on both platforms.
Native development suits an app built around deep device features, heavy graphics, complex background work or new platform features at launch. The trade-off is a separate Swift codebase for iPhone and Kotlin codebase for Android, with both needing maintenance. We discuss the features you need and go native when deep device access calls for it.
Local
What Kanpur’s organisations need from an app
Chandra Shekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology serves a farming community across Uttar Pradesh. For an organisation working with people in the field, an app could bring job forms, photos, signatures and locations into the same workflow. If staff need to enter records without a signal, the scope should include how those records reach the office once a connection returns.
Kanpur’s National Sugar Institute carries out research, training and advisory work for the sugar and allied industry. An organisation with frequent use of an existing web platform could give staff or participants mobile access using the same accounts and data. That calls for a clear view of the current backend and the tasks people need to complete on a phone.
Rules
What an app project in India needs to handle
For a checkout serving customers in India, decide what you are selling before choosing the payment flow. UPI supports person-to-merchant payments; Apple requires in-app purchase for digital content, features and subscriptions used in the app, while physical goods and services used outside it need another payment method. We design the checkout around those distinctions and set up in-app purchases or subscriptions where they apply. Tell us which purchases your customers will make.
How it runs
How an app project runs with us
We are a studio in India and work remotely with clients in other cities through video calls, WhatsApp and shared project boards. You can review the work and share feedback without needing to meet in person.
- 01
Discover
We learn about your business, audience and goals, then agree the scope with you. Bring the task you want the app to make possible and the people who will use it.
- 02
Design
We prepare iOS and Android screens and refine them with your feedback before writing code. Review the flows as well as the appearance of individual screens.
- 03
Prototype
Put the clickable design in front of a few customers or staff. Their feedback gives us a chance to change a screen before it has been built.
- 04
Test
We share builds through TestFlight or Google Play testing tracks. Use the app on your own phone and tell us where the experience needs work.
- 05
Submit
We handle listings, submission and review under your developer accounts. For an app with login, prepare a working demo account and live backend; allow room for a fix and resubmission.
Checklist
What to have ready before we talk
Gather these details so we can discuss the app and its route to release.
- Developer accountsRegister Apple and Google accounts in your company’s name; organisation accounts need a D-U-N-S number.
- Existing systemsList your website, booking software and payment provider, their APIs and whoever holds admin access.
- Privacy policyPrepare one that matches the data your app collects, for the app and its Apple listing.
- TestersNew personal Google Play accounts need a closed test with at least 12 testers opted in for at least 14 days.
- AccessPlan to keep signing access and code repositories in your business’s name.
Cost & time
What affects the cost and timeline?
The work grows with the flows, systems and testing your app needs.
User roles
Customers, drivers and staff each need their own screens and permissions, even with a shared backend.
Live features
Tracking, chat and presence need persistent connections and more backend work than screens that load data on request.
Design variations
Custom animation, languages and tablet layouts add design and testing across screens.
User content
Posts or other user-generated material need filtering, reporting and blocking tools, plus published contact details for Apple’s requirements.
Existing systems
A documented API can reduce the work; a new backend and admin panel add substantial scope.
Questions

How much does it cost to develop an app?
There is no fixed price. The scope changes with work such as offline editing and later synchronisation, first-release analytics and crash reporting, and a backend shared with your website and admin tools. Agreeing the scope gives you a basis for requesting a quote and comparing what is included.
How should I choose an app development company?
Choose a team that can explain what the app will let people do and how that differs from using your website. Apple expects more than a repackaged site. Also discuss when login is genuinely needed: people should be able to use an app without signing in when it lacks significant account-based features.
What can you include in the app?
We can set up push notifications and in-app purchases or subscriptions. If people can create accounts, the screens also need a deletion path: Apple requires people to be able to start deletion in the app, while Google Play also requires deletion of associated data and a web link for requests.
Will I own the finished app?
You own your code, content and domain, with no lock-in. Keep a record of the people who have access to those assets and make sure your business can retrieve them. Clear ownership makes it easier to decide who maintains or changes the product later.
What happens after the app launches?
We provide ongoing support for bug fixes, operating-system updates and new features. Plan maintenance releases: Google Play requires new apps and updates to target a recent Android API level. After release, look at retention and the crash-free rate to see where people leave the main task and how reliably the app runs.
