Choosing
Should you choose a cross-platform or native app?
For most apps, we use React Native to share a codebase across iOS and Android. It uses JavaScript or TypeScript and renders each platform’s own interface components. A web developer can contribute, and some logic can be shared with a React website. Native modules are available when a cross-platform app needs them. That gives you coverage on both platforms without maintaining a separate app codebase for each.
A native build in Swift and Kotlin suits deep device features, heavy graphics or complex background work. You maintain separate codebases, so there is more to build and look after. Flutter is another option: it uses Dart and draws its own interface, which suits a highly customised design that should look the same on both platforms. Your team needs to be comfortable working in Dart.
A progressive web app is worth considering for a staff tool. It skips store review, but does not appear in app stores unless packaged for them. On iPhone, it can ask for notification permission only after someone adds it to their Home Screen.
Local
What Jodhpur organisations may need from an app
Jodhpur is a centre of India’s handicraft industry. A handicraft shop serving repeat customers could use an app for reordering, loyalty and saved payment details, with a quick checkout and notifications timed around a useful action. Where customers already use the shop’s web platform frequently, their existing accounts and data can also be a starting point for an app.
The city is also a tourist destination and has a technical education institute, the Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur. Where a tourism business or an institution manages appointments, the useful screens are practical ones: booking and reminders for users, payments where needed, and a staff view of the day’s schedule. Those tasks give you a clearer scope for an app than a list of features alone.
Rules
What an app project in India needs to handle
UPI supports person-to-merchant payments in India. For physical goods or services used outside your app, we set up checkout through a payment gateway that supports UPI. Digital content, features and subscriptions used inside the app need a different checkout: we set up in-app purchases and subscriptions for the stores. Some storefronts or regions allow outside payment options, so the payment flow needs to match what you sell and where it is sold.
How it runs
How an app development project runs with us
We are a studio in India and work remotely with clients in other cities. Video calls, WhatsApp and a shared project board give you ways to review the work and keep decisions visible.
- 01
Discover
We learn about your business, audience and goals, then agree the scope with you. Bring the task you want people to complete and the information your staff need to manage it.
- 02
Design
We design screens for iOS and Android and refine them with your feedback before writing code. Put the clickable prototype in front of customers or staff; a screen is less costly to change at this stage.
- 03
Build
For notifications, we set up a sending service, rules for recipients and timing, and settings for notification categories. If users can create accounts, we include account and data deletion in the app and a web link for deletion requests.
- 04
Check
We set up analytics and crash reporting for the first release, so you can see where people leave a task and which devices crash. We also cover data collected by third-party SDKs in the Google Play Data safety form.
- 05
Release
We handle the store listings, submission and review under your own developer accounts. You remain involved in the decisions around what appears in the listings.
Checklist
What to have ready before we talk
A little preparation makes the first discussion more useful.
- List the tasks users must complete in the first release, in the order they would do them.
- Start registering Apple and Google developer accounts in your company’s name; organisation accounts need a D-U-N-S number.
- Prepare a privacy policy that reflects the data your app collects, for the app and its Apple store listing.
- Plan a closed test with opted-in testers if you are using a new personal Google Play developer account.
- For an app with login, prepare a working demo account and a live backend for Apple’s review.
Cost & time
What affects the cost and timeline of app development
The work changes with the screens, data and services your app needs.
Offline use
Showing previously loaded data is less work than allowing offline edits and resolving conflicts when records sync.
Live features
Tracking, chat and presence need persistent connections and more backend work than screens that load data on request.
Interface requirements
Custom animation, additional languages and tablet layouts add design and testing across screens.
Existing systems
A documented backend API can reduce the work; a new backend and admin panel can be as large a task as the app.
User-generated content
Filtering, reporting, blocking and contact details add moderation work to apps where people publish content.
Questions
Asked by businesses in Jodhpur
Page updated 5 November 2026
How much does it cost to develop an app?
There is no fixed price. A payment gateway, maps, a booking system or hardware such as a scanner each adds setup, testing and failure handling. The scope also determines which connections you need in the first release. We can discuss a quote once that scope is agreed.
How do I choose an app development company?
Ask who will design, build and launch the app, and how you will review their work. With MSH Technologies, the same team handles design, development and launch from start to finish. That gives you a clear way to follow the work across those stages.
What is included beyond the app screens?
An app project usually includes a backend and an admin panel as well as the screens on a phone. The backend stores accounts and data. Staff can use the admin panel to edit content, look up customers, issue refunds or block abusive accounts without calling a developer.
Will I own the app code?
Yes. You own your code, content and domain, with no lock-in. That gives you control over those assets after launch and means you can make decisions about their future without surrendering ownership as part of the project.
What support is available after launch?
Ongoing support covers bug fixes, updates for new iOS and Android versions, and new features. After release, look at how many people return and where they drop out of the main task. The crash-free rate also helps you see how a release is performing.
