Choosing
Should you build a cross-platform or native app?
For an app built around accounts, forms, bookings, payments or content, a cross-platform build is worth considering. Frameworks such as React Native and Flutter share most of their code across iOS and Android, so you have a shared foundation to maintain alongside the screens people use on each platform.
We usually use React Native, adding native modules where a feature needs them. When an app needs deep device features, we go native. Flutter is another option: it uses Dart and draws its own interface, which suits a heavily branded design when your team is comfortable working in Dart.
A progressive web app is also worth considering for a staff tool. It skips store review, although it will not appear in the app stores unless packaged for them. On an iPhone, it can ask to send notifications only after the user adds it to the Home Screen. That distinction affects how people discover and return to the tool.
Local
What Jeddah businesses need from an app
As a commercial centre, Jeddah has shops and restaurants serving repeat customers. If you run one, your app could give customers a quick route to reorder, use loyalty features and pay with saved details. A fast checkout and well-timed notifications support those repeat visits.
For delivery businesses working around Jeddah Islamic Port, an app can give field staff forms for each job, with photos, signatures and location. Records need to sync back to the office when a connection returns, so staff can work when a signal is unavailable.
Jeddah's industrial district also has teams coordinating work away from a desk. If your business handles appointments, a booking app can show customers available slots and give staff a view of the day's schedule, alongside reminders and payments.
Rules
What an app project in Saudi Arabia needs to handle
Arabic is Saudi Arabia's language. If your customers need an Arabic experience, we set up Arabic screen text and right-to-left layouts, then include those layouts in design and testing across the app. Agreeing the languages early helps us account for the work on each screen.
For physical goods or services, we can set up a card gateway that accepts mada cards online through 3D Secure. Digital content and subscriptions used inside the app need the applicable App Store or Google Play billing flow, so we establish what you sell before designing checkout.
How it runs
How an app project runs with us
We work remotely from India using video calls, WhatsApp and shared project boards. IST is 2h30m ahead, so the shared board keeps decisions and feedback visible between calls.

Discover
Tell us about your business, audience and goals. We agree the scope with you before moving into design.
- 02
Design
We prepare screens for iOS and Android. You review the flows and give feedback before we write code.
- 03
Test the prototype
Put the clickable design in front of a few customers or staff. Their feedback helps you change a screen while it is still less expensive to change.
- 04
Build and test
We build the agreed product and test on real devices and browsers. You review the work as it develops and raise anything that needs attention.
- 05
Submit
We handle store listings, submission and review under your own developer accounts. You provide access to the accounts and review the listing information with us.
Checklist
What to have ready before we talk
Bring what you have; we can use it to agree the first scope.
- List the tasks users must complete in the first release, in the order they will do them.
- Start registering Apple and Google developer accounts in your company's name; organisation verification needs a D-U-N-S number.
- If you plan to use a new personal Google Play account, prepare for its required closed test before production release.
- Have a privacy policy that reflects the data your app collects, ready to link from the listing and the app.
- If users will log in, plan a working demo account and live backend for Apple's submission review.
- If users can create accounts, plan an in-app deletion path and a web link for deletion requests.
Cost & time
What affects the cost and time needed to build an app
The scope determines the work needed to design, build and test your app.
Integrations
A payment gateway, booking system or scanner adds setup, testing and handling for failures.
Live features
Tracking, chat and presence need persistent connections and more backend work than data loaded on request.
User-generated content
Plan filtering, reporting, user blocking and published contact details if people can post content.
Backend and admin tools
A documented existing API can reduce the build; a new backend and admin panel can be as large a task as the app.
Avoid
Mistakes to avoid when building an app
Holding access in a supplier's name
Keep developer accounts, signing access and code repositories in your business's name so you can move the app later.
Putting login first
Let people see useful parts of the app before signing up when significant account-based features are not needed.
Asking for notification permission immediately
Ask when the benefit is clear, such as after an order. On Android 13 and later, notifications remain off until the user allows them.
Adding an analytics or advertising SDK without updating privacy answers: Include the data it collects in Google Play's Data safety form.
Questions
Asked by businesses in Jeddah
Page updated 5 November 2026
How much does it cost to have an app developed?
There is no fixed price. The work depends on the app screens, the backend and admin panel your staff need, and the level of offline use. Showing previously loaded data is less work than allowing offline edits that must sync and handle conflicts. Agree the scope with us before requesting a quote.
How do I choose an app development company?
Choose a team that makes ownership clear. Ask who will hold the code, content and domain, and how you would take them with you if you change suppliers. We give you ownership of those assets without lock-in, so you can make that decision without losing control of your product.
What is needed for push notifications?
Notifications need a sending service, rules for who receives each message and when, and settings inside the app. We can use Firebase Cloud Messaging for delivery and set up notification categories that people can switch off. Agree those categories around messages your customers will recognise and want.
Can my app share customer accounts with my website?
Yes. We can build a shared backend that serves your app, website and admin tools. That gives the products a common place for accounts and data, so your staff have a clearer way to work with the information used across them.
What support is available after the app launches?
We provide ongoing support for bug fixes, operating-system updates and new features. Some JavaScript and content fixes can be sent with an over-the-air tool such as Expo EAS Update; changes to native code, new permissions and Expo SDK upgrades still need a store release.
How do we tell whether people are using the app after launch?
Look at retention and the main task people came to complete, alongside the crash-free rate. Analytics and crash reporting in the first release can show which screens people use, where they give up and which devices crash. Tools include Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics and Sentry.
