Choosing
Should you choose cross-platform or native development?
For an app centred on accounts, bookings, forms, lists or payments, a cross-platform build is often a practical starting point. It shares most of the code between iOS and Android, so you have less platform-specific code to maintain. The decision also affects how the screens are built and which skills are useful when the app needs changes.
We usually use React Native, which renders each platform’s own interface components. Web developers familiar with JavaScript or TypeScript can contribute, and some logic can be shared with a React web app. Flutter uses Dart and draws its own interface; it suits a heavily branded design where screens need to look identical across platforms, provided your team is willing to work in Dart.
Some features need closer access to the device. We use native modules with React Native when a feature needs them, and go fully native when the app needs deep device features. We help you choose by learning what your users need to do and agreeing the scope with you before the build starts.
Local
What Guwahati organisations may need from an app
Goods and passengers pass through Pandu port. A Guwahati delivery or inspection team working around that activity could use an app for job forms, photos, signatures and location details, with records sent to the office when signal returns.
Guwahati is an education centre, so an organisation with a frequently used web platform may want an app that reuses existing accounts and data. That gives users access to the same service on their phones without asking staff to maintain separate customer records.
Guwahati also has tea manufacturing and processing businesses. For a team managing appointments, a staff view of the day’s schedule, booking reminders and payments gives employees a clear place to manage each booking.
Rules
Payments an app project in India needs to handle
UPI supports payments from people to merchants in India, so we can set up a checkout that accepts it for physical goods or services used outside the app. The product being sold changes the checkout: digital content, features and subscriptions used in the app need the applicable store billing setup. We also account for the distinction on Google Play, where its billing system must not be used for physical goods or services such as groceries or transport.
How it runs
How a mobile app development project runs with us
We work remotely from India, using video calls, WhatsApp and a shared project board. You can review the work and give feedback without needing to meet us in person.
- 01
Discover
We learn about your business, audience and goals, then agree the scope with you. Bring the task you want the app to help people complete.
- 02
Design
We prepare iOS and Android screens and refine them with your feedback before writing code. You see the proposed flow before it becomes a built feature.
- 03
Prototype
Put the clickable design in front of a few customers or staff. Their feedback helps you change a confusing screen while it is still less expensive to alter.
- 04
Build and test
We send test builds to your phone through TestFlight or Google Play testing tracks. Use the app in real situations and tell us where the flow needs attention.
- 05
Release
We handle the store listings, submission and review under your developer accounts. You keep the accounts associated with your app.
Checklist
What to have ready before we talk
Bring the essentials and we can make the first discussion more useful.
- First releaseList what users must do, in the order they will do it.
- Developer accountsPlan to use your own accounts for store publishing.
- Business verificationOrganisation accounts need a D-U-N-S number, so start that process early.
- Google Play testingA new personal account needs a closed test before production release.
- Privacy policyPrepare a policy that matches the data collected; the app and its store listing both need a link.
Cost & time
What affects the cost and timeline of mobile app development
The work grows with the flows, services and operational tools your app needs.
User roles
Customers, drivers and staff each need their own screens and permissions, even when they share a backend.
Live features
Tracking and chat need persistent connections and more backend work than screens that load data on request.
User content
Posts or other contributions need filtering, reporting, blocking and published contact details for moderation.
Existing systems
A documented backend API can reduce the work; creating a backend and admin panel from scratch adds a substantial build.
Questions
Asked by businesses in Guwahati
Page updated 5 November 2026
How much does it cost to develop an app?
There is no fixed price. The scope of the backend and admin panel, and the level of offline working you need, are major drivers. Showing previously loaded data takes less work than allowing offline edits that must sync and handle conflicts. We send a free quote once the scope is agreed.
How do I choose an app development company?
Choose a team that can explain how it will handle your users’ first experience. Ask when it would request notification permission and whether people need an account before they can use the app. A useful notification prompt comes when its benefit is clear, such as after an order.
What should be included in the first release?
Include the main user task, analytics and crash reporting. We also set up the notification service, sending rules and settings for notification categories if your app needs messages. If people can create an account, the app must let them start deleting it inside the app.
Will I own the app and its accounts?
You own your code, content and domain, with no lock-in. Keep your developer accounts, signing access and code repository in your business’s name as well. That gives you the access needed to move the app to another developer if you choose to do so later.
What happens after the app launches?
Launch is followed by ongoing support for fixes, operating system updates and new features. We can also assess where users drop out of the main task and whether releases remain crash-free. Some JavaScript and content fixes can be sent without a store build; native changes still need a store release.
