Mobile app developers for Cincinnati businesses

You get a mobile app designed around the tasks your customers or staff need to complete, with screens for iOS and Android, a backend for accounts and data, and push notifications where they fit. From India, we work with Cincinnati clients on the scope, design, build and release, with your feedback shaping the screens before development starts.

What you get

What’s included in mobile app development

  • App design

Screens and flows designed for iOS and Android conventions.

  • Cross-platform build

One React Native codebase for both platforms, with native modules where needed.

  • Backend & APIs

Accounts, data, notifications and admin tools behind the app.

  • Push notifications

Timely, targeted notifications that bring people back.

  • Payments & subscriptions

In-app purchases and subscriptions on both stores.

  • Store launch

App Store and Google Play listings, submission and release.

Tools we use: React Native, Expo, Swift, Kotlin, Firebase, Node.js.

Choosing

Should you build a cross-platform app or go native?

We usually build with React Native, using one codebase for iOS and Android and adding native modules when a feature needs them. It renders each platform’s own interface components, while some logic can be shared with a React web app. That makes it a practical choice when you want to cover both platforms without maintaining a separate native app for each.

A native build is worth considering for deep device features, heavy graphics, complex background work or new platform features needed at launch. The trade-off is maintaining separate Swift and Kotlin codebases. Flutter offers another route: it draws its own interface, which suits heavily branded screens that need to look identical across platforms, provided your team is willing to work in Dart.

A progressive web app can suit a staff tool and skips store review. It will not appear in the app stores unless packaged for them, and on iPhone it can ask to send notifications only after someone adds it to the Home Screen. Start with the tasks people need to do, then weigh those limits against the reach you need.

Local

What Cincinnati organisations need from an app

Cincinnati’s retail, consumer goods and financial services businesses have different reasons to put a service on a phone. A consumer product needs coverage across both stores and analytics showing whether people come back. Where customers already use a web platform frequently, an app can reuse their accounts and data through the same backend, giving them access without creating a separate customer record.

Cincinnati is also home to the University of Cincinnati and Xavier University. For a university team managing inspections, an app could collect offline forms, photos, signatures and the location of each job, then sync the records to the office when a signal returns. That gives staff a way to record work while they are away from a connection.

Rules

What a US mobile app project has to handle

For a state or local government app, the US Title II rule requires the mobile app to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA. We design the iOS and Android screens and flows against that requirement, so it is part of the screen work from the outset. The project also needs to account for the app’s accounts, data and admin tools when those are included in the scope.

How it runs

How an app project runs with us

We work remotely from India over video calls, WhatsApp and a shared project board. IST is 10h30m ahead of the eastern US in winter and 1 hour less during daylight saving time. The shared board gives you a place to review progress and leave feedback across that difference.

    Discover

We learn about your business, audience and goals with you, then agree which work belongs in the scope.

  2. 02

    Design

We design the iOS and Android screens before writing code. You review the flows and give feedback while the designs are being refined.

  3. 03

    Test

During development, you receive test builds on your own phone through TestFlight on iPhone or Google Play’s internal or closed testing tracks. You can give feedback from using the app.

  4. 04

    Release

We handle the store listings, submission and review under your own developer accounts. You retain those accounts for the app.

Checklist

What to have ready before we talk

Bring the decisions and materials that help define the first release.

  • Write the essential user tasks in the order people will do them.
  • Start registering developer accounts in your company’s name; organisation accounts need a D-U-N-S number.
  • Prepare a privacy policy that matches the data the app collects, for the listing and inside the app.
  • For a new personal Google Play account, plan a closed test with at least 12 testers opted in for at least 14 days.
  • List any analytics or advertising SDKs you intend to use, so their data collection is covered in Google Play’s Data safety form.

Cost & time

What affects the cost and timeline

The scope determines the work involved in design, development and testing.

  • User roles

Customers, drivers and staff each need their own screens and permissions, even when they share a backend.

  • Offline editing

Showing last-loaded data is more modest work than letting people edit offline and resolving conflicts when records sync.

  • Screen variations

Custom animation, additional languages, right-to-left scripts and tablet layouts add design and testing across screens.

  • User-generated content

Moderation adds work. Apple requires filtering, reporting, user blocking and published contact details for apps with this content.

Questions

Asked by businesses in Cincinnati

Page updated 5 November 2026

How much does it cost to develop an app?

There is no fixed price. An existing backend with a documented API reduces the work, while a new backend and admin panel add to it. Live tracking or chat also needs persistent connections. For notifications, the sending service, audience rules and in-app category settings all need to be planned.

How should I choose an app development company?

Ask how the team will test your idea before building it and how it will make the app useful on a phone. Put a clickable prototype in front of customers or staff and use their feedback to refine the screens. Apple’s guidelines also ask apps to offer more than a repackaged website.

What is included alongside the app screens?

An app project can include a backend and an admin panel as well as the screens on the phone. We can build one backend for your app, website and admin tools. For apps with account creation, we also need an in-app deletion path; Google Play additionally requires a web link for deletion requests.

Who owns the app and its accounts?

You own your code, content and domain without lock-in. Keep the developer accounts, signing access and code repository in your business’s name too. When those are held in a freelancer’s or agency’s name, moving the app later becomes harder, even if you have access to the published product.

What happens after the app launches?

Launch is followed by ongoing support for bug fixes, operating system updates and new features. Google Play requires apps and updates to target a recent Android API level. Some JavaScript and content fixes can go out over the air, while native code changes and new permissions still need a store release.
