What you get

What’s included in mobile app development

  • App design

Screens and flows designed for iOS and Android conventions.

  • Cross-platform build

One React Native codebase for both platforms, with native modules where needed.

  • Backend & APIs

Accounts, data, notifications and admin tools behind the app.

  • Push notifications

Timely, targeted notifications that bring people back.

  • Payments & subscriptions

In-app purchases and subscriptions on both stores.

  • Store launch

App Store and Google Play listings, submission and release.

Tools we use: React Native, Expo, Swift, Kotlin, Firebase, Node.js.

Choosing

Should you choose cross-platform or native development?

We usually build with React Native, using one codebase for iOS and Android and adding native modules where a feature needs them. It uses JavaScript or TypeScript and renders each platform’s own interface components. If your website uses React, some logic can be shared with the app, and your web developers can contribute to the work.

Native development uses Swift for iPhone and Kotlin for Android. It fits an app that depends on deep device features, heavy graphics, complex background work or new platform features at launch. The trade-off is maintaining separate codebases for the platforms, so there is more build and maintenance work to plan for.

Flutter is another cross-platform option. It uses Dart and draws its own interface, which suits a heavily branded design that needs to look identical across platforms. Your choice affects the skills needed to maintain the app as well as the flexibility you have when designing its screens.

Local

What Chennai organisations need from an app

Chennai’s healthcare sector includes appointment businesses that need patients to book, receive reminders and pay through an app. Staff also need a view of the day’s schedule, so the work includes the screens people use behind the scenes as well as the patient-facing experience.

For organisations serving Chennai’s medical tourism sector, field teams handling delivery or maintenance may need job forms, photos, signatures and locations available away from the office. When signal returns, the records need to sync back to the office for staff to use.

Chennai is also an education centre. An education organisation whose users frequently return to a web platform can add an app that reuses their existing accounts and data, giving those users access on their phones without starting a separate set of records.

Rules

What an app project in India has to handle

UPI supports person-to-merchant payments in India. For an app selling physical goods or services, we set up a UPI checkout through a payment gateway as part of the payment flow. The products you sell also determine how we configure checkout for each store.

Apple requires in-app purchase for digital content, features and subscriptions used in the app; Google Play requires its billing system for digital goods and subscriptions sold there. Physical goods and services use another payment method. Some storefronts or regions allow outside payment options, so we account for the intended stores when setting up payments.

How it runs

How a mobile app development project runs with us

You talk directly to the people designing and building your app. That gives you a clear route for discussing screens, raising questions and giving feedback as the work progresses.

  1. 01

    Discover

We learn about your business, audience and goals. You tell us what the app needs to do, and we agree the scope together before work moves into design.

  2. 02

    Design and build

We create screen designs and refine them with your feedback before coding. We then build and test the product on real devices and browsers, followed by launch setup and ongoing care.

  3. 03

    Review the prototype

Put the clickable design in front of a few customers or staff. Their feedback helps you change a screen before it has been built, when changes cost less.

  4. 04

    Try test builds

You use the app on your own phone during development, through TestFlight on iPhone or Google Play testing tracks. Share what you notice from using the screens and flows.

  5. 05

    Submit to the stores

We handle the listings, submission and review under your own developer accounts. You retain those accounts for the release.

Checklist

What to have ready before we talk

Gather these details so we can discuss the app and its release with fewer unknowns.

  • Register Apple and Google developer accounts in your company’s name; organisation accounts need a D-U-N-S number for verification.
  • List your website, CRM, booking software, ERP and payment provider. Note which have APIs and who holds admin access.
  • Prepare a privacy policy that matches the data your app collects; Apple requires a link in the listing and app.
  • If you use a new personal Google Play developer account, plan for its required closed test before production release.
  • For an app with login, prepare a working demo account and a live backend for Apple’s submission review.

Cost & time

What affects the cost and timeline of mobile app development

The scope determines how much design, integration and testing work the app needs.

  • User roles

Customers, drivers and staff each need their own screens and permissions, even when they share a backend.

  • Integrations

Payment gateways, maps, booking systems and hardware all need setup, testing and handling for failures.

  • Interface design

Custom animation, multiple languages and tablet layouts add design and testing across screens.

  • Existing systems

A backend with a documented API reduces the work; a new backend and admin panel can be as large a job as the app.

  • User content

Posts or other user submissions need moderation features, including reporting and blocking abusive users.

Avoid

Mistakes to avoid with mobile app development

  • Wrapping a website in an app shell

Give people useful app features beyond the existing site. Apple’s guidelines ask for more than a repackaged website, and a shell risks rejection.

  • Asking for notifications immediately

Request permission when the benefit is clear, such as after an order. On Android 13 and later, notifications stay off until the user allows them.

  • Adding a tracking SDK without updating the listing

Review the data collected by third-party SDKs and include it in Google Play’s Data safety form.

Questions

Asked by businesses in Chennai

Page updated 5 November 2026

How much does it cost to develop an app?

There is no fixed price. The work depends on the backend and admin panel, the payment or subscription features, and what people need to do offline. Showing previously loaded data offline is a smaller task than allowing edits and resolving conflicts when records sync. Agree the scope before requesting a quote.

How do I choose an app development company?

Ask who you will speak to during the work and what you will own when it finishes. With us, you talk directly to the people designing and building the product, and you own your code, content and domain without lock-in. Those details help you plan for changes after release.

Can my app use the same backend as my website?

Yes. We build a shared backend for your app, website and admin tools. It can handle accounts, data and notifications, while giving staff access to the tools behind the app. Bring details of your existing website and the information it needs to share when we discuss the scope.

Does the app need an account deletion option?

If people can create an account, both stores require an in-app path to delete it. Apple does not accept deactivation alone. Google Play also requires a web link where people can request deletion of the account and its associated data, so we plan that path as part of the account screens.

What support is available after launch?

Launch is followed by ongoing support for bug fixes, operating system updates and new features. Plan for maintenance releases: Google Play requires new apps and updates to target a recent Android API level, and an out-of-date app can become unavailable to new users on newer devices.

Can a fix go out without another store release?

Some fixes can. An over-the-air tool such as Expo EAS Update can deliver JavaScript and content changes without a new store build. Changes to native code, new permissions and Expo SDK upgrades still need a store release, so the kind of change determines how it reaches users.
