Choosing
Should you choose cross-platform, native or a web app?
For most apps, we use React Native: one codebase serves iOS and Android, with native modules where needed. It uses JavaScript or TypeScript and renders each platform’s own interface components. If you already have a React website, some logic can be shared with the app. Flutter is another cross-platform option; it uses Dart and draws its own interface, which suits a heavily branded design that should look identical across platforms.
Native development suits deeper device features, heavy graphics, complex background work or new platform features needed at launch. The trade-off is separate Swift and Kotlin codebases to build and maintain. A progressive web app is worth considering for a staff tool and skips store review, though it needs packaging to appear in the app stores. On iPhone, it can ask to send notifications only after a user adds it to the Home Screen. Think about those constraints alongside the tasks your users need to complete.
Local
What Bhubaneswar organisations need from an app
Bhubaneswar is a commercial centre, and a shop serving repeat customers has a practical reason to consider an app: make reordering quick. Saved payment details, a fast checkout and well-timed notifications support that task. Start by mapping the steps from finding an item to completing an order, then decide where loyalty features fit.
The city also has government and privately funded universities and colleges, as well as industries including food, pharmaceuticals and electronics. A college needs a way for staff to edit app content and look up accounts without calling a developer. An industrial business whose customers already use its web platform could give frequent users an app that shares their existing accounts, data and backend.
Rules
What an app project in India has to handle
Payment design starts with what you sell. For physical goods or services used outside the app, we set up a checkout that can use UPI, India’s mobile payment system. Digital content, features and subscriptions used inside the app have different store requirements: we set up in-app purchases or subscriptions for those flows on the respective stores. Some storefronts or regions allow outside payment options, so the checkout needs to reflect where and what you sell.
How it runs
How an app project runs with us
We work remotely from India using video calls, WhatsApp and shared project boards. You can review the work and discuss decisions with us as the project progresses.
- 01
Discover
We learn about your business, audience and goals, then agree the scope with you. Bring the main task you want people to complete so we can discuss what belongs in the release.
- 02
Design
We prepare screens for iOS and Android and refine them with your feedback before writing code. Put the clickable prototype in front of a few customers or staff; a screen is cheaper to change at this stage than after it is built.
- 03
Test
You try builds on your own phone through TestFlight on iPhone or Google Play’s internal or closed testing tracks. Use the app as a customer or staff member would, then share where a task is difficult to complete.
- 04
Submit
We handle store listings, submission and review under your own developer accounts. If the app has a login, prepare a working demo account and live backend for Apple’s review, and leave room for fixes and resubmission.
Checklist
What to have ready before we talk
Bring what you have; a short, ordered list is useful.
- List the tasks users must complete in the first release, in the order they would do them.
- Note the website, CRM, booking software, payment provider or other systems involved, whether each has an API and who holds admin access.
- Start registering Apple and Google developer accounts in your company’s name; organisation accounts need a D-U-N-S number.
- Check closed-testing requirements if you plan to use a new personal Google Play developer account.
- Consider whether your app, website and admin tools should share a backend.
Cost & time
What affects the cost and timeline
The scope determines the work involved, including these choices:
Live features
Tracking, chat and presence need persistent connections and more backend work than screens that load data on request.
Interface and languages
Custom animation, additional languages, right-to-left scripts and tablet layouts add design and testing across screens.
Offline work
Showing the last loaded data is a smaller task than allowing people to create and edit records without signal, then sync changes and resolve conflicts.
Notifications
A useful setup needs a sending service, rules for recipients and timing, and settings for people to switch off unwanted categories.
Questions
Asked by businesses in Bhubaneswar

How much does it cost to develop an app?
There is no fixed price. The main drivers include whether you need a new backend and admin panel, how many types of user need their own screens and permissions, and how many systems the app must connect to. Once we agree the scope, we send you a free quote.
How do I choose a company to develop my app?
Ask how the team will handle account deletion and privacy as part of the build. Apple requires an in-app way to start account deletion; Google Play also requires an in-app path and a web request link. Ask how store privacy answers will cover data collected by third-party analytics or advertising tools.
Should everyone have to create an account?
Not necessarily. If the app has no significant account-based features, Apple’s guidelines ask that people can use it without logging in. Consider when to ask for notification permission too: a request after an order gives the user a clearer reason than a request on first launch.
Who owns the app and developer accounts?
You own your code, content and domain, with no lock-in. Keep the developer accounts, signing access and code repositories in your business’s name as well. Accounts held in an agency’s or freelancer’s name can make the app harder to move if you change who maintains it.
What happens after the app launches?
We provide ongoing support for bug fixes, platform updates and new features. Plan maintenance releases: Google Play requires new apps and updates to target a recent Android API level. Also review retention, where people leave the main task and the crash-free rate to see how a release is performing.
