A breadcrumb schema generator writes the BreadcrumbList JSON-LD that tells Google how a page sits in your site structure. Type one level per line as a name and a path, and the script block on the right updates live, with positions numbered from the home page. It also produces the matching HTML for the visible breadcrumb so the two stay in sync, and it reports any line it could not read instead of producing broken markup.
How to use it
- Set the base URL so paths such as /services become full addresses.
- Enter the trail, one level per line, as "Name | /path", starting with Home.
- Make the last line the page the schema will live on.
- Check the preview reads the way the breadcrumb looks on the page.
- Copy the script block into the page, and the HTML block into your template if you need a visible breadcrumb.
How to read the result
The Levels stat counts the entries that parsed correctly. Three lines for Home, Services and Web design gives "3" and a green "Valid BreadcrumbList". If one line is typed as "Web design /services/web-design" without the pipe, that line is skipped, the stat drops to "2" and the badge explains which line could not be read.
In the output, each entry is a ListItem with a position starting at 1, a name and an item URL. Home at position 1 points to the site root, Services at position 2 points to /services, and the current page at position 3 carries its own URL. Positions must be sequential, which the generator handles for you.
A trail of one level is flagged as not enough, because a breadcrumb that only says "Home" tells Google nothing. Two to four levels is normal; deeper trails usually mean the site structure itself needs attention.

Questions
Frequently asked.
Should the current page be the last item?
Yes. Google's guidance is to include the full trail from the home page to the page the markup sits on, each with its URL. Some sites leave the last item out; both are accepted, but including it keeps the visible breadcrumb and the schema identical, which is the safer option.
Does breadcrumb schema change how my result looks?
Often. Google uses it to replace the raw URL under the title with a readable path such as "example.com › Services › Web design". That is one of the few rich results still shown for every kind of site, and it makes results on mobile much easier to read.
Can one page have more than one breadcrumb trail?
Yes, if the page genuinely sits in two places, such as a product in two categories. Add a second BreadcrumbList block for the second trail. Most pages need only one, and adding trails that do not reflect real site structure does not help.
