WhatsApp chatbot development in United Arab Emirates
A WhatsApp chatbot gives your customers a way to ask questions and get help inside a chat. For your business in United Arab Emirates, we design the conversation, set up the WhatsApp Business API and draw AI answers from your own information, with a handover to a person when needed. We shape the questions and replies with you around what your customers ask most.

Choosing
Should you choose a menu bot or AI answers?
A menu-and-button bot fits fixed tasks such as opening hours, bookings and order status. You decide the choices and replies in advance, so the work centres on making each route clear. AI answers fit a wider range of free-text questions, but your source content needs preparation, and the answers need testing and clear limits.
You also need to choose how to connect to the WhatsApp Business Platform. You can build directly on Meta’s Cloud API or use a solution provider that adds billing, integration support and customer support. If you already use the WhatsApp Business app, a provider can connect your existing number to the Cloud API while you continue replying to individuals in the app, with chat history kept in sync.
For AI, define its job before choosing the route. Meta’s terms distinguish AI that supports a business’s own service from a general-purpose AI assistant offered as the primary product. Meta decides which category an offering falls into. That distinction affects how you describe and design the chatbot’s purpose.
Market
What customers in United Arab Emirates expect from chat
Arabic is the official language, while English and other major languages are also widely used. Choose the languages for your menus and replies around the people you serve, then prepare the wording your team wants customers to see. Keep the choices clear in each language.
Retail customers may want delivery updates and answers about order status. Real estate and travel businesses need enquiry details passed to sales staff, while appointment businesses need bookings and reminders. Decide which of those conversations your team handles most often before setting the scope.
Aani supports transfers using a mobile number and QR-code payments at merchants. If you use it, plan where payment instructions belong in the conversation and how your staff will confirm an order.
Rules
What your United Arab Emirates chatbot needs to handle
The UAE Personal Data Protection Law restricts processing personal data without consent, subject to listed exceptions, and sets requirements for cross-border transfers. Where consent is needed, we set up wording that names your business and states that the person is opting in to messages, along with a place to collect it, such as your website form or checkout. During planning, identify where customer information will go across borders so that this can be considered in the build.
How it runs
How a WhatsApp chatbot project runs with us
We work remotely from India using video calls, WhatsApp and shared project boards. IST is 1h30m ahead, so the shared board gives you a place to review decisions and feedback between calls.
- 01
Discover
We learn about your business, audience and goals. You tell us what customers ask and what your staff need the chat to achieve; we then agree the scope together.
- 02
Design the conversation
We turn frequent customer questions into flows that are easy to follow. You review the wording and the choices before they are built.
- 03
Register and prepare messages
You provide the business display name for verification. We draft and submit message templates early, since templates are reviewed when created or edited and must be approved before they are sent.
- 04
Build the connections
We set up the agreed catalogue, order capture or booking flow and send leads and orders to your CRM, sheet or order system.
- 05
Test with your staff
Your team runs real questions, orders and bookings through a test number. We check handovers and confirm that leads and orders reach the connected systems.
Checklist
What to have ready before we talk
Gather these items so we can discuss the account and the information the chatbot will use.
- Meta accessAn administrator at your business should hold access to your company’s own business portfolio.
- Phone numberHave a number your business owns, with country and area code, that can receive a verification call or SMS.
- Privacy policyHave a published policy ready, alongside the notices and consents applicable law requires.
- Answer materialGather your business information if you want AI to answer customer questions from it.
- AI data termsCheck that an AI solution provider will not use WhatsApp platform data to train or improve its systems, apart from fine-tuning a model for your exclusive use.
Cost & time
What affects the cost and timeline
The work changes with the answers, connections and product information you want the chatbot to handle.
Answer method
AI over your content adds preparation, testing and limits; fixed menus need their choices and replies defined.
Connected systems
A CRM, booking system, order system or payment link adds integration work, especially when usable APIs are unavailable.
Catalogue data
The catalogue’s size and how often prices and stock change determine whether product data needs automatic syncing.
Message mix
Meta charges per delivered message, with rates set by message category and the recipient’s country code. Marketing, utility, authentication and service messages therefore affect running costs differently.
Avoid
Mistakes to avoid with your chatbot
Ignoring a request to stop
Respect opt-outs received on or off WhatsApp and remove the person from your contact list.
Hiding human help
Give customers a prompt, clear escalation path, such as an in-chat transfer, phone number, email address or support form.
Putting offers in utility templates
Keep utility messages non-promotional. WhatsApp can recategorise a template as marketing if it finds promotional content.
Requesting sensitive numbers
Do not ask customers to share full payment card numbers, financial account numbers or personal ID card numbers in chat.

How much does a WhatsApp chatbot cost?
There is no fixed price for the work. The scope changes when you add a catalogue, order capture or appointment booking, and when leads or orders need to reach your CRM, sheet or order system. We first agree what the chatbot needs to handle and which connections you need.
Can customers complete a form inside WhatsApp?
Yes. WhatsApp Flows provide structured interactions inside the chat, so a customer can tap through choices instead of typing every answer. A flow can collect lead details or guide someone through product recommendations. It is useful when you want a consistent set of answers from each enquiry.
Can you get a blue checkmark for our account?
A blue checkmark requires Official Business Account status, and Meta reviews each request. The requirements include a verified business portfolio, two-step verification, an approved display name and policy compliance. Meta can deny a request, so account setup and a checkmark should be treated as separate decisions.
Who owns the chatbot work?
You own your domain, content and code, with no lock-in. Keep access to those assets within your business so your team can continue to use them as your needs change. Ownership is worth agreeing when you define the project, alongside the content and code that form part of it.
What should we review after launch?
Review unanswered questions and handovers regularly, then add missing answers or flows. Track conversations started, resolutions without staff, completed orders or bookings, and opt-outs against your earlier chat volumes. Watch template quality too: messages with negative feedback or low read rates can be paused or disabled.
Can the chatbot message customers whenever we need to?
The type of message you can send depends on the customer service window. It opens when a customer messages you and resets with each new customer message; outside the 24-hour window, only approved templates can be sent. WhatsApp may also limit marketing templates a person receives based on recent engagement.
