What you get

What’s included in mobile app development

  • App design

Screens and flows designed for iOS and Android conventions.

  • Cross-platform build

One React Native codebase for both platforms, with native modules where needed.

  • Backend & APIs

Accounts, data, notifications and admin tools behind the app.

  • Push notifications

Timely, targeted notifications that bring people back.

  • Payments & subscriptions

In-app purchases and subscriptions on both stores.

  • Store launch

App Store and Google Play listings, submission and release.

Tools we use: React Native, Expo, Swift, Kotlin, Firebase, Node.js.

Choosing

Should you build a cross-platform app or go native?

For most apps, we use React Native. It shares a codebase across iOS and Android while allowing native modules where a feature needs them. We go native when the app needs deep device features. React Native uses JavaScript or TypeScript and renders each platform’s own interface components, so web developers can contribute and some logic can be shared with a React website.

Flutter is another option. It uses Dart and draws its own interface, which suits a heavily branded app where you want screens to look identical across platforms. Your team needs to be comfortable working in Dart, though, so consider who will maintain the product as well as how the first release should look.

A progressive web app is worth considering for a staff tool that does not need a store listing. It skips store review, but needs packaging to appear in an app store. On iPhone, it can ask to send notifications only after someone adds it to their Home Screen. We start with your business, audience and goals, then agree a scope with you.

Market

What do customers in the UAE expect from an app?

Shops and restaurants serving repeat customers can make reordering, loyalty and saved payment details part of the app, with a quick checkout and notifications sent at useful moments. Appointment businesses such as clinics, salons and gyms have different needs: booking, reminders, payments and a staff view of the day’s schedule are useful starting points.

Arabic is the official language, while English and other major languages are also widely used. If your customers need Arabic and English, we plan the screens and test the right-to-left layout alongside the other language. For checkout, we can plan around Aani’s mobile-number and QR payments or Jaywan card payments when those methods fit your payment setup.

Rules

What does an app project in the United Arab Emirates need to handle?

Personal data collection needs an early decision. The UAE Personal Data Protection Law restricts processing without consent except in listed cases and sets requirements for cross-border transfers. We map what the app collects and set up consent screens for the relevant data processing, with the backend and transfer arrangements considered as part of the build.

Payment setup also starts with what you sell. Stripe lists the country as a place where businesses can sign up to accept payments, so we can plan a card gateway into checkout when it suits your business and the goods or services customers are buying. Decide who will hold the payment account before the checkout flow is designed.

How it runs

How a mobile app project runs with us

We work remotely over video calls, WhatsApp and shared project boards. India time is 1h30m ahead, so you can leave feedback and track decisions on the board between calls while the work keeps moving.

  1. 01

    Discover

We learn how your business works, who will use the app and what you want it to do. You help agree the scope so the team has a shared plan before design starts.

  2. 02

    Design

We produce screens for iOS and Android and refine them with your feedback before writing code. Review the flows as a customer or staff member would use them, including the steps that need an account.

  3. 03

    Build

We develop the app using a shared React Native codebase for both platforms, adding native modules where they are needed. You review the work against the agreed scope as the screens and features come together.

  4. 04

    Submit

We prepare the store listings and handle submission and review under your own developer accounts. You keep those accounts in your business’s hands while we work through the release process.

  5. 05

    Care

After launch, we provide ongoing support for bug fixes, updates for new iOS and Android versions, and new features. Tell us what users and staff are encountering so the next changes address real use.

Checklist

What to have ready before we talk

Bring a short, ordered list of what people must be able to do in the first release. It gives the conversation a clearer starting point than a long feature list.

  • Existing systemsList your website, CRM, booking software, ERP and payment provider, noting which have an API and who holds admin access.
  • Developer accountCheck whether a new personal Google Play account will need its closed test before production release.
  • Privacy policyPrepare a policy that matches the data the app will collect, for the store listing and the app.
  • ReviewersIdentify customers or staff who can try a clickable prototype and give feedback before the screens are built.
  • Demo accessIf the app has a login, plan a working demo account and live backend for submission, with room for fixes and resubmission.

Cost & time

What affects the cost and timeline?

The work changes with the features, existing systems and decisions you include in the scope.

  • Integrations

A payment gateway, booking system, CRM, maps or hardware each needs setup, testing and a way to handle failures.

  • Backend

A documented existing API reduces the work; a new backend and admin panel can be as substantial as the app itself.

  • Live features

Tracking, chat and presence need persistent connections and more backend work than screens that load data on request.

  • User content

Posts and other user-generated material need reporting, filtering and blocking tools, plus published contact details.

  • Offline work

Showing previously loaded data is a smaller task than allowing edits offline and resolving conflicts when records sync.

Avoid

Mistakes to avoid when building an app

  • Wrapping a website in an app shell

Apple expects an app to offer more than a repackaged site. Plan useful app features before submitting it.

  • Demanding sign-up too early

Let people see what they can use before asking for an account, particularly when account-based features are not central to the app.

  • Asking for notification permission on first launch

Ask when the benefit is clear, such as after an order. On Android 13 and later, notifications stay off until the user allows them.

  • Leaving access with an agency

Keep developer accounts, signing access and code repositories in your business’s name so the app is easier to move later.

Questions

Asked by businesses in United Arab Emirates

Page updated 5 November 2026

How much does it cost to have an app developed?

There is no fixed price. A major driver is how much needs to be built behind the phone screens: accounts, stored data and an admin panel all add scope. In-app purchases or subscriptions add payment work. Once we agree the scope with you, we send a free quote.

How do I choose an app development company?

Choose a team that can explain how the app will work with the systems you already use. If customers use your website frequently, ask how the app will reuse their accounts and data. We build a shared backend for the app, website and admin tools, so those services can work from the same information.

Does an app need an account deletion option?

Yes, if people can create an account in the app. Apple requires them to be able to start deleting it inside the app; disabling the account alone is not enough. Google Play also requires an in-app deletion path and a web link where people can request deletion of the account and associated data.

Who owns the app and its code?

You own your code, content and domain, with no lock-in. That gives you control of those assets if you want someone else to work on the product later. Agree ownership at the start and keep a record of the assets your business needs to operate and maintain the app.

What support does an app need after launch?

Plan for maintenance releases as well as feature changes. Google Play requires new apps and updates to target a recent Android API level, and outdated apps can become unavailable to new users on newer devices. Some JavaScript and content fixes can be sent over the air; native changes and new permissions still need a store release.

How are push notifications set up?

Push notifications need a sending service, such as Firebase Cloud Messaging, plus rules for who receives each message and when. We also plan settings inside the app so people can switch off categories they do not want. Decide which messages are useful to customers and which events should trigger them before setting those rules.
