WhatsApp chatbot development in Qatar
A WhatsApp chatbot gives your customers a way to ask questions and follow a conversation with your business in Qatar. We design the question flows and set up the WhatsApp Business API, including your number and message templates. The chatbot runs on the WhatsApp Business Platform, which is separate from the WhatsApp Business app used manually by small shops. We work with you on the questions your customers ask most.

Choosing
Should you choose a menu bot or AI answers?
Start with the jobs you want the chat to do. Menus and buttons suit fixed requests such as booking an appointment, checking order status or asking about opening hours. They take customers through defined choices. AI answers suit varied questions written in the customer’s own words, but they need prepared source content, testing and clear limits on what the bot should answer.
Your existing number is another decision. A provider can connect a number already used in the WhatsApp Business app to the Cloud API while you continue replying to individuals in the app, with chat history kept in sync. With standard registration, a number already in use must be deleted from WhatsApp before it is registered on the platform. Decide which route fits before committing the number to the bot.
For AI, the product you offer also affects the choice. Meta’s terms bar AI providers whose primary offering is a general-purpose assistant; AI ancillary to a business’s own service falls outside that ban, with Meta deciding the distinction. An AI provider acting as your solution provider also faces limits on using WhatsApp platform data to train or improve AI systems, apart from fine-tuning a model for your exclusive use.
Market
What customers in Qatar may expect from chat
Arabic is the official language, while English is commonly used in commerce. Consider which language your customers use when they contact you, and prepare the questions and answers for the languages you want the chatbot to handle. That choice affects the conversation flows and the content you need to review.
The work also depends on what people come to you for. Clinics and salons need booking conversations and reminders; restaurants need orders and table bookings. Schools and training providers handle admissions and course enquiries, while estate and travel businesses need to qualify leads and pass them to sales staff. Choose the conversations your staff answer repeatedly, then give each one a clear route through the chat.
Rules
What your chatbot project in Qatar needs to handle
Qatar prohibits unsolicited direct marketing without prior consent. For marketing messages, we set up an opt-in route so a person agrees to receive messages from your business before you contact them. Unexpected messages can also lead to blocks and reports, affecting message quality and potentially leading to rate limits.
If your chatbot project includes a website aimed at children, the website must obtain express approval from a parent or guardian before processing a child’s personal data. We set up an approval step in the website flow before that information is collected. Include that step when you plan how a website form passes enquiries into the chat.
How it runs
How a chatbot project runs with us
We are a studio in India and work with you remotely over video calls, WhatsApp and shared project boards. IST is 2h30m ahead. The shared board gives you a place to review work and leave feedback across that time difference, with calls and WhatsApp available when a discussion is needed.
- 01
Discover
We learn about your business, audience and goals with you, then agree the scope. Bring the customer questions and tasks you want the chat to handle so we can decide what belongs in the build.
- 02
Register
Choose the display name for your business number. We include display name verification in the setup; Meta must approve the name before it appears at the top of chats and in the chat list.
- 03
Prepare templates
We draft and submit the messages you need early in the build. Templates are reviewed automatically when created or edited, and only approved templates can be sent.
- 04
Test
Your staff run real questions, orders and bookings through a test number with us. We check handovers to a person and confirm that leads and orders arrive in the connected systems before the chatbot is used with customers.
Checklist
What to have ready before we talk
Gather these account and content details so we can discuss the work with your team.
- Business portfolioArrange admin access to your own Meta business portfolio, held by someone at your business.
- Phone numberChoose a business-owned number with its country and area code that can receive a verification call or SMS.
- Opt-inBring the wording and collection points. It must name your business and say the person is opting in to messages.
- Privacy policyHave a published policy ready, along with the notices and consents applicable law requires.
- Catalogue and booking detailsList the products or appointments you want customers to handle in chat.
- Lead destinationIdentify the CRM, sheet or order system where your team needs enquiries and orders to arrive.
Cost & time
What affects the cost and timeline
The scope of the chat and the systems around it determine how much work the build needs.
Answers and handover
AI answers drawn from your information need source material and a route to a person when the bot cannot handle a request.
Orders and bookings
A catalogue, order capture and appointment booking each add interactions to design and check inside the chat.
Staff workflow
A simple alert takes a different scope from a shared inbox with assignment, notes and reporting.
Message mix
Meta charges per delivered message, with rates set by category and recipient country code. Marketing, utility, authentication and service messages shape running costs.
Avoid
Mistakes to avoid
Missing an opt-out
A customer can ask to stop messages on or off WhatsApp. Give staff a way to act on the request and remove that person from the contact list.
Calling an offer a utility message
Utility templates must be non-promotional. Keep offers in marketing templates; WhatsApp can recategorise promotional content.
Requesting sensitive numbers
Do not ask customers to send full payment card numbers, financial account numbers or personal ID card numbers in chat.
Sending too many campaigns
WhatsApp may limit marketing templates a person receives across businesses based on recent engagement. Plan for some opted-in customers not to receive every message.

How much does a WhatsApp chatbot cost?
There is no fixed price. The work depends on whether you choose fixed menus or AI answers, and on the size of your catalogue and how often prices or stock change. AI adds content preparation and testing; a frequently changing catalogue may need an automatic product-data sync.
Can the chatbot message a customer at any time?
It can reply freely inside the 24-hour customer service window opened by a customer’s message. Each new customer message resets that window. Outside it, only approved templates can be sent. Business-initiated messages such as reminders, offers and order updates use templates categorised as marketing, utility or authentication.
Who owns the work when the chatbot is finished?
You own your domain, content and code, with no lock-in. That gives your business ownership of the material and code produced for the project. Keep those items with your business when planning who will maintain the chatbot and its connected customer information after launch.
Will we get a blue checkmark for our business?
A blue checkmark comes from Official Business Account status; it is not automatic when you set up a chatbot. The requirements include a verified business portfolio, two-step verification, an approved display name and policy compliance. Meta reviews each request and can deny it.
Can a clinic use the chatbot for patient enquiries?
A clinic can keep the chatbot to bookings and general questions. The messaging policy bars requesting or sending health information where regulations forbid sharing it on systems without heightened protection. Plan the questions and staff handover around that limit, so the chat does not ask patients to provide health details.
What should we review after launch?
Review unanswered questions and handovers, then add missing answers or flows. Track conversations started, resolved without staff and handed over, as well as completed orders or bookings and opt-outs; compare these with chat volumes before the bot. Watch template quality too, and rewrite or retire messages that draw complaints.
