What you get
What’s included in website redesign
Site audit
A review of content, structure, speed and search performance before anything changes.
Fresh design
A modern look built on your brand and designed mobile-first.
Platform migration
WordPress, Wix, Webflow or legacy sites moved to Next.js or a clean WordPress build.
Content transfer
Pages, posts, media and metadata carried across and tidied up.
Redirect mapping
Every old URL mapped to its new home, so links and rankings carry over.
Post-launch checks
Search Console and analytics reviewed after launch to catch issues early.
Tools we use: Next.js, WordPress, Webflow, Wix, Google Search Console.
Choosing
Should you refresh the design or rebuild the site?
Start by separating the decisions. A redesign can change the look, the structure and the platform, but your project does not have to change all three. If your existing pages and menu still serve the business, a visual refresh on the same platform keeps the work focused. Keeping the same URLs also carries less search risk than a rebuild.
A full rebuild fits when the content no longer describes what you do, or visitors have to work through a confusing menu to find it. That gives you room to reorganise pages, but changed addresses need a complete redirect plan. Keep existing URLs where they still make sense; change them where dates, IDs or duplicate paths have made the structure difficult to use.
A platform move is another choice. An old WordPress installation, Wix or Webflow site held back by speed, plugins or editing limits can move to a custom build or a clean WordPress setup. The move gives your team a different editing environment, with extra work to transfer content between systems.
Market
What buyers in Canada expect from your site
Your site should present the services your business offers now, with pages that visitors can recognise and use. That is relevant for an established company whose website still describes an earlier version of the business, and for an organisation whose menu has grown around duplicate pages. The redesign needs to account for the pages people already find through search.
For commercial publications in Quebec, the website needs French content under the Charter of the French language. We plan French pages into the site structure and content transfer, so they are accounted for in the redesign.
Rules
What a website redesign in Canada has to handle
If your redesigned site collects newsletter sign-ups, Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation requires consent for commercial electronic messages. We set up the sign-up consent and account for the sender’s current mailing address and an unsubscribe mechanism in those messages.
Ontario businesses and non-profits with 50 or more employees need public websites and covered web content to meet WCAG 2.0 Level AA, with the stated exceptions for live captions and pre-recorded audio descriptions. Where that applies to your site, we plan the public pages against that standard as part of the build.
How it runs
How a website redesign project runs with us
We work across the time difference with India using the project’s shared board and agreed reviews. In winter, India is 9h ahead of Newfoundland and 12h30m ahead of British Columbia and Yukon; some regions move 1 hour closer during daylight saving time. Written feedback keeps decisions available between calls.
- 01
Discover
We learn about your business, audience and goals, then agree the scope with you. Tell us what the current site needs to do for visitors and for your staff.
- 02
Inventory
We mark existing pages to keep, rewrite, merge or delete. You review that list and the redirect map, including pages customers still use, such as product sheets or downloadable forms.
- 03
Preview
We build on a private preview link while your old site stays live. You review the work and approve the switch when you are ready.
- 04
Launch
We point the domain, apply redirects and submit the new sitemap in Search Console. We then test forms, tracking and a sample of old addresses.
- 05
Check
We review Search Console and analytics after launch to catch issues early. Share any problems your staff or customers notice after the switch.
Checklist
What to have ready before we talk
A little preparation gives the audit a clearer starting point.
- Access to your current site, hosting, domain registrar and DNS, so we can plan the export and switch.
- Search Console and analytics access with as much history as possible, so we can identify pages that bring visitors.
- A list of what works and what frustrates staff or customers, including hard-to-edit pages or missing enquiries.
- Page addresses printed on brochures, packaging or QR codes, or used in campaigns and email signatures.
- A list of connected tools, such as booking widgets, CRM forms and newsletter sign-ups, with their account access.
Cost & time
What affects the cost and timeline of website redesign
The work needed to move and check your site shapes both cost and delivery time.
Source content
Page builders, embedded shortcodes and hand-formatted posts take more effort to move cleanly than straightforward content.
Custom features
Member areas, calculators, booking systems and complex forms add work when they need to be rebuilt.
Languages and regions
Each version adds URLs, redirects and checks to the migration plan.
Existing connections
Images, PDFs, blog categories, form connections, tracking codes and the DNS records used by company email all need checking during a move.
Avoid
Mistakes to avoid with website redesign
Leaving out redirects
Old links can return 404 errors and ranked pages can drop out of search. Map old addresses to their relevant new equivalents instead of sending unrelated pages to the home page.
Treating a permanent move as temporary
Use permanent redirects such as 301 or 308, and keep redirects in place for as long as possible.
Leaving search settings unchecked
Remove the development site’s noindex setting at launch and keep the staging copy out of search results.
Forgetting measurement
Move analytics, ad conversion tags and call tracking to the new templates so you retain the data used to assess the redesign.
Questions

Page updated 5 November 2026
How much does a website redesign cost?
There is no fixed price. The scope depends heavily on how much content needs rewriting or reorganising, whether you are moving between platforms, and whether custom features need rebuilding. We send a free quote once the scope is agreed, so you can see the work involved before deciding how to proceed.
Can we change our domain during the redesign?
Yes. A domain change adds another migration to the redesign, so it needs its own planning alongside any page-address changes. For a move to a new domain, Google provides a Change of Address tool in Search Console. That tool is not needed when you are changing only the paths on the existing domain.
Can we keep the content from our current website?
Yes. We move your existing content across and suggest places where it could be shortened or improved. You can keep material that still serves your customers, while reviewing pages that need to reflect changes in your services. You do not have to start every page from a blank document.
Do we have to move away from our current platform?
No. A move is worth considering when a slow site is overloaded with plugins or page builders and those limits are affecting your work. We move WordPress, Wix, Webflow and legacy sites to Next.js or a clean WordPress build, carrying the content across as part of the migration.
What happens to search information on existing pages?
We carry over or deliberately improve page titles, descriptions, headings and structured data on pages that already rank. That gives the new templates a defined set of information to work with, instead of allowing details from the old pages to disappear by default during the redesign.
What should we check after the redesigned site launches?
Watch for crawl errors and 404 errors in Search Console, and add missing redirects as they appear. Compare enquiries, traffic and rankings for key pages with the period before launch; fluctuations are normal while Google processes a site move. Update links you control, including directory listings and email signatures, to point directly to the new addresses.
