Choosing
Should you choose WordPress or a custom website?
WordPress suits a team that publishes often and wants to edit most of the site itself. Its plugins offer a wide choice of functions, though someone needs to keep them updated for security. A custom-coded site in Next.js suits a business that wants fast pages and a design without template limits. You would generally ask a developer to make structural changes, so consider who will look after the site before choosing it.
An adapted template fits a simple site with a tight brief, provided it is reworked around your actual content. A custom design gives you more room to respond to a particular brand or audience. There is also a headless setup: a custom front end paired with a separate editor. That suits heavy editing alongside a need for speed, though it adds parts to host and maintain. We recommend WordPress or Next.js after learning how your team works.
Local
What Tucson organisations need from their websites
Tucson has companies that design and manufacture optics and optoelectronics systems. If you supply those products to other businesses, your site needs capability or product pages, certifications and downloadable specifications. A quote form should collect enough detail for your team to respond.
Tourism brings visitors to Tucson. If you run an appointment-based service for visitors, clear service pages, opening hours and a booking or call option that works on a phone give people a practical way to plan.
The University of Arizona is in Tucson. For a product startup preparing to launch or raise money, a site needs a plain explanation of the product and a way for an interested visitor to join a waitlist or book a demo.
Rules
What a US website project has to handle
For a business open to the public, US guidance says the ADA covers the goods and services it offers on the web and points to WCAG as helpful guidance. We agree an accessibility target in your brief and set up a clear heading structure as part of the build. WCAG has A, AA and AAA levels, so the target gives your team a basis for reviewing the pages before launch.
How it runs
How a website project runs with us
We work remotely over video calls, WhatsApp and shared project boards. India is 12h30m ahead of Arizona; the shared board gives you a place to leave feedback and see the work across that time difference.
- 01
Discovery
You explain who buys from you, why they choose you and what visitors should do. We use those answers to shape the sitemap.
- 02
Wireframes
We lay out the content and its order before visual design. You review the page priorities at this stage, leaving colours for later.
- 03
Build and test
We build with clean code or a content management system your team can edit, then test on real devices and browsers.
- 04
Launch setup
We set up the domain, email, analytics and Search Console, and walk your team through the site.
- 05
Final review
You proofread each page, submit each form and confirm who receives the messages before the site goes live.
Checklist
What to have ready before we talk
Gather these details so we can discuss what the site needs.
- Brand filesYour logo in SVG, AI or EPS, plus colours and fonts, or a note that they still need creating.
- OfferA list of services or products, ranked by business priority.
- AccessLogin details for your domain, hosting, email, analytics and Search Console, or the person who holds them.
- PhotosImages of your team, premises and finished work.
- GoalThe enquiries you want, and who handles each kind.
- ProofCase studies, permitted client logos, testimonials, certifications and memberships.
Cost & time
What affects the cost and timeline of a website?
The scope determines how much design, build and preparation work is needed.
Page templates
Distinct layouts take more design and build effort than pages that share a template.
Features
Booking, calculators, member logins, several languages or a CRM connection add build and testing work.
Content
Ready-to-publish copy and photos keep the scope smaller; copywriting, photography or translation add work.
Brand readiness
An existing logo and style guide reduce design work compared with deciding the logo, colours and typefaces during the project.

Questions
Asked by businesses in Tucson
Page updated 5 November 2026
How much does it cost to have a website built?
There is no fixed price. The page structure, forms and readiness of your content all affect the scope. Real copy also helps us design around the space your headings and paragraphs actually need, instead of revising layouts built around placeholders. We agree the scope with you and send a quote.
Can you use our existing brand?
Yes. We can build on your logo, colours and fonts, and prepare brand assets for the web where needed. Bring the files you already use and tell us which parts of the brand should carry through to the new site; that gives the design work a clear starting point.
Can we edit the site ourselves?
Yes. We provide an editor for pages, news, projects and careers that your team can use without training. For a team that needs full editing control, we build with WordPress; we also build custom sites in Next.js. Tell us what you expect to update when we discuss the project.
Will we own the website?
Yes. You own the domain, the content and the code, with no lock-in. That gives you control over those assets after handover. Keep track of the domain and site access within your own team so the people responsible for the website know where to find them.
How should we manage the site after launch?
Give someone responsibility for updates and measurement. Decide who will keep news, projects and job posts current, then track form submissions, calls and WhatsApp clicks as conversions in analytics. You can also check which pages those enquiries started from when reviewing how the site is being used.
