Choosing
Should you choose WordPress or a custom website?
WordPress suits a team that expects to edit a lot of content itself. A custom Next.js site suits a business that wants fast pages, tight security and a design without template limits. It can still have a content editor, although you should expect a developer to handle structural changes. We recommend an option after learning how your team works.
A hosted builder such as Wix, Squarespace or Webflow is another option for a small site you want to run alone. The trade-off is less control over code and speed; moving away later can mean a rebuild. Before choosing, consider who will make routine edits and who will handle changes to the structure. That distinction helps you assess the work involved after launch as well as the initial build.
Local
What Salt Lake City businesses need from their websites
Professional and business services are part of Salt Lake City's economy. If you run a law, accounting or consulting practice here, give each service and partner a clear page. Prospective clients can then check the relevant expertise and credentials before getting in touch. Businesses involved in local trade need product or capability pages, downloadable specifications and a quote form that collects enough detail for a useful response.
Skiing and outdoor recreation are part of the city's tourist industry. If your business serves those visitors, decide early what you want the site to generate, such as calls or quote requests, and who will handle each enquiry. Build the page structure and contact route around that goal.
Rules
Accessibility in a United States website project
US Department of Justice guidance says ADA Title III covers goods and services that businesses open to the public offer on the web, and identifies WCAG as helpful guidance. We agree an accessibility target in your brief, using the latest WCAG version as a reference, and set up a clear heading structure in the build. The agreed target gives you and the design team a shared reference when reviewing the work.
How it runs
How your website project runs with us
We work remotely over video calls, WhatsApp and shared project boards. India is 10h30m (Eastern) to 13h30m (Pacific) ahead of the mainland US in winter, and 1 hour less during daylight saving time. The shared board gives both sides a place to keep the work moving across that difference.

Discover
We learn about your business, audience and goals. You tell us what the site needs to achieve, and we agree the scope together.
- 02
Design
We map the pages and prepare wireframes before the visual design. You review the content and its order first, then give feedback on desktop and mobile designs.
- 03
Build
We develop the site in clean code or use a CMS your team can edit, then test it on real devices and browsers.
- 04
Review
You proofread every page, submit each form and confirm who receives its messages. This is the time to catch small errors visitors would otherwise see.
- 05
Launch
We set up the domain, email, analytics and Search Console, then walk your team through the site and its setup.
Checklist
What to have ready before we talk
Gather these materials, or note who can provide them, before the project begins.
- Your logo in SVG, AI or EPS format, plus brand colours and fonts.
- Real photos of your team, premises and finished work; book a photo shoot ahead if needed.
- Access details for your domain, hosting, email, analytics and Search Console, or the name of the person who holds them.
- Websites you like and dislike, with a short reason for each choice.
- A folder of case studies, permitted client logos, testimonials, certifications and memberships.
Cost & time
What affects the cost and time of website design
Start by deciding who will update the site and how often; that helps guide the platform choice.
Page templates
Distinct layouts take more design and build work than pages that share a template.
Features
Booking, calculators, member logins, multiple languages or a CRM connection add design, development and testing work.
Content migration
Blog posts, news archives and downloadable files from an existing site need moving and checking.
Brand readiness
An existing logo and style guide reduce design work compared with a project where colours, typefaces and the logo are still being decided.

Questions
Asked by businesses in Salt Lake City
Page updated 5 November 2026
How much does it cost to have a website designed and built?
There is no fixed price for every website. The design approach, the content you need to gather and the choice of content editor all affect the work involved. A separate editor and custom front end also add hosting and maintenance considerations. Set out the scope before requesting a quote.
Will our team be able to edit the website?
Yes. We can provide an editor for pages, news, projects and careers that your team can use without training. Before choosing an editor, list the types of content you expect to update and who will be responsible for each. That gives the build a clear editing brief.
Can you use our existing brand?
Yes. We build on your existing logo, colours and fonts, and prepare brand assets for the web where needed. Share the files and brand details you already have when you begin the conversation, so the page design can reflect the identity your customers recognise.
Will we own the website?
Yes. You own the domain, the content and the code. Keep a record of where those assets are held and who on your side is responsible for them. That gives your business a clear account of the assets it owns as the site changes.
What happens after the website launches?
We provide ongoing support after launch. Your team should also decide who will keep news, projects and job posts current. Use analytics to track form submissions, calls and WhatsApp clicks as conversions, and check which pages those enquiries started from.
