Choosing
Should you choose WordPress or a custom website?
WordPress suits a team that publishes often and wants to edit most of the site itself. It offers a wide choice of plugins, though someone needs to keep it updated for security. A custom Next.js site suits a design without template limits and fast pages, with a developer handling structural changes.
A hosted builder such as Wix, Squarespace or Webflow suits a small site that you want to run yourself. The trade-off is less control over the code and speed. If you decide to move away from the platform later, the site might need rebuilding.
The design choice is separate from the platform. A custom design fits a specific brand, audience or set of content; an adapted template suits a simpler brief when it is reworked around your real content. We recommend a platform after learning how your team works and how much editing you expect to do.
Local
What Salem organisations need from a website
Salem is a textile centre, with handlooms and spinning mills in the region. A textile business can give visitors clear service pages to scan and a direct way to get in touch, with WhatsApp or click-to-call available on a phone.
Sago producers in the region need a clear route for quote requests. For an industrial website, agree which inbox receives each form, who handles the request and what the visitor sees after sending it.
Salem has universities whose websites need an organised page structure and a practical way to keep content current. A sitemap and mobile page designs establish where information belongs; an editor gives the team a way to update pages, news and careers.
How it runs
How a website project runs with us
We work remotely from India, using video calls, WhatsApp and a shared project board. You can review the work and give feedback without needing an in-person meeting.
- 01
Discover
Tell us who buys from you, why they choose you and what you want visitors to do. We learn your goals and agree the scope with you.
- 02
Plan
We use wireframes to settle what goes on each page and in what order. Your feedback here should focus on content and priorities, leaving colours for later.
- 03
Design
We prepare the sitemap and page designs for desktop and mobile. You review them, and we refine the layouts with your feedback before the build.
- 04
Build
We develop the site in clean, fast code or use a content management system your team can edit. We test the build on real devices and browsers.
- 05
Launch
We set up the domain, email, analytics and Search Console. Your team gets a walkthrough so the people responsible for the site can see what has been handed over.

Cost & time
What affects the cost and timeline
The work involved changes with what the site needs and what is ready to publish.
Features
Booking, calculators, member logins, multiple languages and CRM connections add design, build and testing work.
Content
Copy and photos ready to publish keep the scope smaller; writing, photography or translation adds work.
Migration
Blog posts, news archives and downloadable files from an old site need moving and checking.
Brand readiness
An existing logo and style guide reduce design work compared with deciding the logo, colours and typefaces during the project.

Questions
Asked by businesses in Salem
Page updated 5 November 2026
How much does it cost to have a website built?
There is no fixed price. The sitemap and forms in the agreed scope affect the work, as does a headless setup with a separate content editor and more components to host and maintain. We send you a free quote once the scope is agreed, so you can review what the build includes before deciding.
What should be included in the search setup?
Ask for page titles and descriptions, a clear heading structure, an XML sitemap and structured data. Check that an indexing block used during development is removed at launch. Missing titles, a missing sitemap or a block left in place can keep a new site out of search results.
Can you use our existing brand?
Yes. We build on your existing logo, colours and fonts, and prepare brand assets for use on the web where needed. You do not need to replace your visual identity to commission the website; the existing assets give us a basis for the page design.
Will we own the website?
Yes. You own the domain, content and code. Hold the domain and hosting accounts in your business's name and grant access to the people working on the site; that way, you retain control of the accounts used to run it.
What happens after the site launches?
We provide ongoing support after launch. Your team should also decide who will keep news, projects and job posts current. In analytics, track form submissions, calls and WhatsApp clicks as conversions, then check which pages those enquiries started from.
