Choosing
Which website platform should you choose?
Start with who will update the site. A hosted builder such as Wix, Squarespace or Webflow suits a small site you want to run yourself. You give up some control over code and speed, though, and moving away from the platform later can mean rebuilding the site. That trade-off is worth considering before you put a substantial amount of content into it.
WordPress is an option when your team wants full editing control. A custom-coded site in Next.js suits a company that wants fast pages, tight security and a design without template limits, with a developer handling structural changes. Think about the updates you expect to make, including changes to page structure as well as ordinary edits.
A headless setup combines a custom front end with a separate editor. It suits a site that needs speed alongside heavy editing, but adds components to host and maintain. We recommend an approach after learning how your team works, so the choice reflects your editing needs and the work involved in looking after the site.
Local
What Plymouth organisations need from their websites
Plymouth’s economy includes service businesses. For a local accountancy, legal or consulting practice, we would plan a page for each service and partner, giving prospective clients somewhere to check expertise and credentials before they get in touch. Appointment-based practices need clear service pages, practitioner profiles and opening hours, with a booking or call option that works on a phone.
Plymouth has universities and companies based at Plymouth Science Park. A university team presenting a new product needs a plain explanation and a way to join a waitlist or book a demo. For a supplier selling to other organisations, product or capability pages, certifications and downloadable specifications help visitors assess the offer; a detailed quote form gives the supplier information to respond.
Rules
What a UK website project has to handle
If you run a UK limited company, your website must show its registered number, registered office address, place of registration and limited-company status. We include space for those details in the site, so you can provide the correct information as part of the build.
Organisations providing services through a website must make reasonable adjustments for disabled people. We agree an accessibility target in the brief and record the chosen WCAG level, so it is part of the work from the start. The W3C encourages using the latest version of WCAG.
How it runs
How a website project runs with us
We are a studio in India and work remotely over video calls, WhatsApp and shared project boards. India is 5h30m ahead of the UK, or 4h30m ahead during British Summer Time. The shared board gives us a place to keep feedback and project decisions visible across the time difference.
- 01
Discover
Tell us who buys from you, why they choose you and what you want visitors to do. We use those answers to shape the sitemap and agree the scope with you.
- 02
Plan
We put wireframes before visual design. Review the content and its order at this stage; colours can come later.
- 03
Build
We develop the site in clean code or a content management system your team can edit, then test it on real devices and browsers.
- 04
Check
Proofread each page, submit each form and confirm who receives its messages. This gives you a chance to catch small errors before visitors do.
- 05
Launch and care
We set up the domain, email, analytics and Search Console, and give your team a walkthrough. Ongoing support follows launch.
Checklist
What to have ready before we talk
Bring what you have, and note anything that still needs preparing.
- Your logo in SVG, AI or EPS format, plus brand colours and fonts.
- A list of services or products, ranked by their importance to your business.
- Sites you like and dislike, with a short reason for each choice.
- Login details for your domain, hosting, email and analytics, or the name of the person who holds them.
- Photos of your team, premises and finished work; book a photo shoot ahead if needed.
- Your main goal, such as quote requests or calls, and who handles each enquiry.
Cost & time
What affects the cost and timeline?
The scope determines how much design, build and checking work is needed.
Page templates
Distinct layouts need more design and build work than pages sharing a template.
Content
Copy and photos ready to publish keep the work smaller; adding copywriting, photography or translation expands it.
Migration
Moving old posts, news archives and downloadable files adds transfer and checking work.
Brand assets
An existing logo and style guide reduce design effort compared with deciding the logo, colours and typefaces during the project.

Questions
Asked by businesses in Plymouth
Page updated 5 November 2026
How much does it cost to have a website built?
There is no fixed price: the design approach and the content you need to gather affect the scope. A custom design calls for different work from adapting a template around real content, while service descriptions, team bios and photos all need preparation. Ask us for a quote once the scope is agreed.
Should I choose WordPress or a custom website?
WordPress suits a team that edits a lot of content itself. A custom Next.js site is faster and more secure, and it can still include an editor. We consider how your team works before recommending either option, including how much you expect to change after the site goes live.
What is included in the enquiry setup?
We plan how enquiries reach the people who handle them. That includes deciding where each form sends its message, who receives quote requests and what the confirmation says. We also consider whether WhatsApp or click-to-call buttons should appear on mobile, so visitors have a clear way to get in touch.
Will I own the website and its content?
Yes. You own the domain, content and code, with no lock-in. You can also use your existing brand: we build on your logo, colours and fonts and prepare brand assets for the web where needed. Bring the files you already have when we discuss the project.
What should we do after the website launches?
Assign someone to update news, projects and job posts, then review how visitors make contact. In analytics, track form submissions, calls and WhatsApp clicks as conversions and check which pages they started from. That gives you useful information for deciding which pages need attention.
