Choosing
Should you choose WordPress, custom code or a hosted builder?
WordPress suits a team that publishes often and wants to edit most of the site itself. Its choice of plugins gives you options for adding features, though someone needs to keep the installation updated. A custom-coded site suits a business that wants fast pages and a design without template limits. Structural changes usually need a developer, so consider who will make those changes after launch.
A hosted builder such as Wix, Squarespace or Webflow can suit a small site that you want to manage alone. You trade some control over code and speed for that self-service approach; moving away later can mean rebuilding. WordPress and a custom Next.js site each have a place, and a custom site can still have an editor. We recommend an approach after understanding how your team works and how much of the content you expect to change yourselves.
Local
What Missouri businesses need from their websites
Manufacturing is among Missouri’s major industries. If you supply other businesses, your site needs capability or product pages that explain what you offer, with certifications and downloadable specifications close to the relevant details. A quote form should ask for enough information for your team to respond properly. Financial services firms, also represented in the state, need clear service and partner pages so prospective clients can check expertise and credentials before they call.
Wholesale and retail trade are also significant in Missouri. For a wholesaler or retailer, the sitemap and page structure need to make the products or services you want to feature easy to find. Agree who owns the content, forms and search setup at the start, so each part is ready for the build and launch.
Rules
Accessibility in a United States website project
For a business open to the public, US Department of Justice guidance says the ADA covers goods and services offered on the web and identifies WCAG as helpful guidance. We set an accessibility target in your brief and use it to review the page designs and build. If you run a state or local government site, the applicable rule requires WCAG 2.1 Level AA; we set that target for the work from the outset.
How it runs
How a website project runs with us
We work remotely from India using video calls, WhatsApp and shared project boards. India is 10h30m ahead of Eastern time to 13h30m ahead of Pacific time in winter, and 1 hour less during daylight saving time. The shared board keeps feedback and decisions available across the time difference.
- 01
Discover
You explain who buys from you, why they choose you and what visitors should do. We learn about your business and audience, then agree the scope together.
- 02
Design
We create the sitemap and wireframes before the visual page designs. Review the content and its order first; we then refine desktop and mobile designs with your feedback.
- 03
Build
We develop the site in clean code or with a content management system your team can edit. We test the work on real devices and browsers.
- 04
Check and launch
You proofread each page, submit the forms and confirm who receives messages. We handle launch setup and provide ongoing support after the site goes live.
Checklist
What to have ready before we talk
Gather what you already have and note anything that still needs a decision.
- Logo files in vector format, plus brand colours and fonts.
- Your services or products, ranked by their importance to your business.
- Sites you like and dislike, with a short reason for each choice.
- Account details for your domain, hosting, email and analytics, or the name of the person who holds them.
- Real photos of your team, premises and finished work.
- A folder of case studies, testimonials, certifications and client logos you have permission to show.
Cost & time
What affects the cost and timeline
The scope changes the amount of design, content and development work involved.
Page templates
Distinct page layouts take more design and build effort than pages that share a template.
Content gathering
Service descriptions, team bios, case studies and photos need owners; collecting them affects when pages are ready to build.
Design approach
A custom design suits specific brand or audience needs; an adapted template can fit a simple site when reworked around your content.
Separate editor
A headless setup pairs a custom front end with an editor, but adds moving parts to host and maintain.
Avoid
Mistakes to avoid
Designing with placeholder copy
Bring real headings and paragraphs into the layouts early, before their lengths disrupt an approved design.
Choosing a platform too soon
Decide who will update the site and how often before selecting the editing setup.
Reviewing only on desktop
Check every page on a phone before approving the design.
Leaving search setup until later
Check page titles, the sitemap and any development indexing block before launch.

Questions
Asked by businesses in Missouri
Page updated 5 November 2026
Is it still worth investing in a business website?
A website gives you a place to explain your services and receive enquiries from prospective clients. The build should also be ready for search: we include metadata, structured data and a sitemap, with fast-loading pages. Those are useful foundations, though they do not promise a particular search position.
How much does it cost to have a website built?
There is no fixed price. The work changes with the readiness of your copy and photos, the amount of content moving from an existing site, and whether your logo and visual style are already settled. Once we agree the scope, we send a free quote.
Can you design the site around our existing brand?
Yes. We build on your existing logo, colours and fonts, and prepare brand assets for the web where needed. That gives your site a visual starting point while the page designs are shaped around the information your visitors need and the actions you want them to take.
What will we be able to update and how will enquiries reach us?
Your team gets an editor for pages, news, projects and careers that it can use without training. We also set up contact and quote forms to reach the right inbox. WhatsApp and click-to-call give visitors additional ways to get in touch when those options suit your site.
Will we own the website after launch?
Yes. You own the domain, content and code. At handover, we set up the domain, email, analytics and Search Console, and walk your team through the setup. Keep your domain and hosting accounts in your business’s name and grant access to the people working on the site.
What should we manage after the site goes live?
Assign someone to keep news, projects and job posts current, and review enquiries in analytics. You can track form submissions, calls and WhatsApp clicks as conversions, then check which pages visitors started from. That gives your team useful information for deciding what to update next.
