Choosing
Should you choose WordPress or a custom website?
WordPress suits a team that publishes often and wants to edit most of the site itself. Its choice of plugins gives you options for extending the site, though you will need to keep it updated to help maintain security. It is worth deciding who will take responsibility for those updates before you choose it.
A custom Next.js site suits you if you want fast pages, tight security and a design without template limits. It can still have a content editor, while a developer handles structural changes. An adapted template is another option for a simple site with a tight brief; it needs to be reworked around your actual content.
Your editing habits are a useful starting point. We learn how your team works before recommending WordPress or a custom build, so the choice reflects who will publish content and who will handle changes after launch.
Local
What Mildura businesses need from their websites
Mildura is a major horticultural centre. If you supply products or services to that sector, your website needs clear descriptions of what you offer and a straightforward way to ask for a quote. We set up quote forms that reach the right inbox, alongside WhatsApp and click-to-call, so you can choose how you want to receive enquiries.
Langtree Avenue’s shopping and dining precinct is home to another kind of customer-facing business. If you run a shop or dining business there, a clear page structure helps visitors find your offer and contact details. Keep the pages manageable for your team: clear service pages are easier to scan and keep current than a collection copied from an old site.
Rules
What an Australian website project has to handle
Australian guidance recommends WCAG 2.2 at a minimum of Level AA for equal access to digital goods and services. We agree an accessibility target with you in the brief and use it to guide the page design and testing work.
From 10 December 2026, covered entities using personal information in certain computer-made decisions must disclose the kinds of information and decisions involved in their privacy policy. If that applies to your site, we set up a privacy policy page for the disclosures you provide.
How it runs
How a website project runs with us
We work remotely from India using video calls, WhatsApp and shared project boards. India time is 4h30m behind Melbourne outside daylight saving time and 5h30m behind during daylight saving time. The shared board gives you a place to review work and leave feedback across that difference.
- 01
Discover
Tell us who buys from you, why they choose you and what visitors should do on the site. We use that to agree the scope and shape the sitemap.
- 02
Design
We prepare the sitemap, wireframes and page designs for desktop and mobile. You review them and give feedback before the designs are refined.
- 03
Build
We develop the site in clean code or a content management system your team can edit, then test it on real devices and browsers.
- 04
Check
You proofread every page, submit each form once and confirm who receives the messages. This catches small errors before visitors encounter them.
- 05
Launch
We set up the domain, email, analytics and Search Console, then walk your team through the handover.
Checklist
What to have ready before we talk
Bring what you have and note what still needs work.
- Your logo in vector format, brand colours and fonts, or a note that they still need creating.
- Your goal for the site and who handles each type of enquiry.
- A ranked list of the services or products you want to feature.
- Account details for your domain, hosting, email and search tools, or the name of the person who holds them.
- A folder of case studies, permitted client logos, testimonials and other proof of your work.
- Sites you like and dislike, with a brief reason for each choice.
Cost & time
What affects the cost and timeline
The scope and readiness of your materials shape the work involved.
Page templates
Each distinct layout needs design and build work; pages sharing a template take less effort to produce.
Content
Copy and photos ready to publish keep the scope smaller; writing, photography or translation adds work.
Migration
Moving old posts, news archives and downloadable files adds transfer and checking work.
Brand readiness
An existing logo and style guide reduce design effort compared with deciding the logo, colours and typefaces during the project.

Questions
Asked by businesses in Mildura
Page updated 5 November 2026
How much does a website cost to build?
There is no fixed price. Gathering service descriptions and photos adds work, as does a headless setup with a separate front end and content editor. That setup also has more moving parts to host and maintain. Once we agree the scope, you can ask us for a quote.
Is a website still worth building?
A website is worth considering when it supports a clear business goal, such as getting enquiries. Decide what you want visitors to do, then measure form submissions, calls and WhatsApp clicks in analytics. Checking which pages those enquiries started from gives you useful information for future changes.
Can you use our existing brand?
Yes. We build on your existing logo, colours and fonts, and prepare brand assets for the web where needed. You do not have to start the visual identity again to commission a site; tell us which assets you already have and which still need attention.
Will we own the website?
Yes. You own the domain, content and code. Keep the domain and hosting accounts in your business’s name and grant access to the people working on the site. That way, you retain control of the accounts instead of having to ask someone else to return them.
What happens after launch?
We offer ongoing support after launch. You should also decide who on your team will update news, projects and job posts, so those pages stay current. We can provide an editor your team can use for those updates without training, as well as for other pages.
