Choosing
Should you choose WordPress, a custom site or a website builder?
WordPress suits a team that publishes often and wants to edit most of the site itself. Its plugins offer a wide choice of features, though the site needs regular updates to stay secure. Before choosing it, decide who will be responsible for those updates as well as the content.
A custom-coded site in Next.js fits a business that wants fast pages, tight security and a design without template limits. It also suits a team happy to ask a developer to make structural changes. We recommend WordPress or Next.js after learning how your team works and what it needs to edit.
A hosted builder such as Wix, Squarespace or Webflow is an option for a small site you want to run on your own. You give up some control over code and speed, and a move to another platform later can mean rebuilding the site. Consider that trade-off before putting time into a builder.
Local
What Idaho businesses need from their websites
Idaho’s industries include manufacturing and technology. If you supply other businesses, make your capabilities and products easy to assess, with certifications, downloadable specifications and a quote form that asks for enough detail to prepare a response. If you’re launching a technology product, use plain language to explain it and give visitors a way to join a waitlist or book a demo.
The state also attracts people for outdoor activities such as skiing, fishing and rafting. If you serve those visitors, decide where their enquiries should go and who will answer them. A clear confirmation after a form submission, plus click-to-call or WhatsApp on mobile, gives visitors a practical way to get in touch.
Rules
What a US website project has to handle
For businesses open to the public, US guidance says the ADA covers goods and services offered on the web. The guidance points to WCAG as a useful reference. We agree an accessibility target in the brief and set up a clear heading structure as part of the build.
State and local government websites have a specific WCAG 2.1 Level AA requirement. For a project covered by that rule, we set that level as the accessibility target for the website.
How it runs
How a website project runs with us
We work remotely over video calls, WhatsApp and shared project boards. India is 10h30m (Eastern) to 13h30m (Pacific) ahead of the mainland US in winter, and 1 hour less during daylight saving time across most of the mainland. Shared boards give us a place to keep decisions and feedback moving between calls.

Discover
Tell us who buys from you, why they choose you and what you want visitors to do. Those answers help shape the sitemap.
- 02
Design
We prepare the sitemap, wireframes and page designs for desktop and mobile. You review them and give feedback before the design is refined.
- 03
Build
We write the site in clean code or build it with a content editor your team can use. We test it on real devices and browsers.
- 04
Review
You proofread every page, submit each form and confirm who receives the messages. This is the point to catch small errors visitors would notice.
- 05
Launch
We set up the domain, email, analytics and Search Console, then walk your team through the handover.
Checklist
What to have ready before we talk
Start with a clear goal, such as quote requests, calls or job applications, and name the person who handles each enquiry.
- Your logo in SVG, AI or EPS format, plus brand colours and fonts, or a note that these still need creating.
- A ranked list of the services or products you want to feature.
- Websites you like and dislike, with a short explanation of each choice.
- Real photos of your team, premises and finished work; book photography ahead if needed.
- A folder of case studies, permitted client logos, testimonials, certifications and memberships.
Cost & time
What affects the cost and timeline?
The work depends on what needs to be designed, built and supplied before the site is ready.
Page templates
Distinct layouts need separate design and build work; pages sharing a template take less effort.
Features
Booking, calculators, member logins, multiple languages and CRM connections add design, build and testing work.
Content
Copy and photos ready to publish keep the scope smaller; writing, photography or translation add work.
Brand
An existing logo and style guide reduce design work compared with a brand whose colours and typefaces are still being decided.
Avoid
Mistakes to avoid
Leaving real copy until the end
Use actual headings and paragraphs during design, since their length can change a layout.
Choosing a platform too early
Decide who will update the site and how often before selecting the platform.
Reviewing only on a large screen
Check every page on a phone before approving the design.
Leaving search setup until launch
Check page titles, the sitemap and development indexing settings before the site goes live.

Questions
Asked by businesses in Idaho
Page updated 5 November 2026
Is it still worth paying for website development?
It can be worthwhile when your site needs to help visitors assess your services and make contact. A professional services firm, for example, can give each service and partner a page so prospective clients can check expertise and credentials before they call.
How much does it cost to have a website built?
There is no fixed price. The work is shaped by the design approach and how much content needs to be gathered or written. A custom design suits a specific brand or audience; an adapted template suits a simpler brief. We send a free quote once the scope is agreed.
What is included in the website build?
The build includes an editor for pages, news, projects and careers, along with ways for visitors to contact you. We set up contact and quote forms to reach the right inbox, plus WhatsApp and click-to-call. Your team can use the editor without training.
Can you use our existing brand?
Yes. We build on your existing logo, colours and fonts, and prepare brand assets for the web where needed. That gives the website a starting point from the identity you already use, while allowing the assets to be prepared for use on the site.
Will we own the website?
Yes. You own the domain, content and code. Keep the domain and hosting accounts in your business’s name and grant access to the people working on the site. That way, control of those accounts stays with you when the project is handed over.
What happens after the site launches?
We provide ongoing support after launch. Your team should also decide who will keep news, project and job posts current. Use analytics to track form submissions, calls and WhatsApp clicks as conversions, and check which pages visitors started from before making contact.
