Choosing
Should you choose WordPress, a custom site or a hosted builder?
WordPress suits a team that publishes regularly and wants to edit most of the site itself. Its plugins offer a wide choice of features, though someone needs to keep the site updated. A custom Next.js build suits a design with specific requirements and fewer template limits. It also suits a team happy to ask a developer for structural changes.
A hosted builder such as Wix, Squarespace or Webflow can suit a small site you want to run alone. You give up some control over code and speed, and moving away later can mean rebuilding. A template can also work for a simple brief, provided it is adapted around your real content; a custom design fits when your brand or audience needs something more specific.
We recommend WordPress or Next.js after learning how your team works. Tell us who will publish content and who will handle structural changes, so the choice reflects the work you expect to do after launch.
Local
What Fargo businesses need from a website
Fargo has manufacturing and technology businesses. A manufacturer or supplier needs capability pages, certifications and downloadable specifications, with a quote form that collects enough detail for the team to respond. A product startup needs a plain explanation of what it offers and a way to book a demo or join a waitlist.
Healthcare is part of Fargo’s economy, and clinics need service pages, practitioner profiles and opening hours that are easy to find. A booking or call option should work well on a phone, where a prospective patient can act without searching through the site.
Fargo is also the county seat of Cass County. Professional practices serving clients there need clear pages for their services and partners, giving prospective clients space to check expertise and credentials before making contact.
Rules
What a US website needs to handle
For businesses open to the public, US guidance says the ADA covers goods and services offered on the web and identifies WCAG as helpful guidance. That affects the structure of the pages we build. We use WCAG guidance when setting up headings and organising page content, so the structure is considered during the build alongside page titles, descriptions and the sitemap.
How it runs
How the project runs with us
We work remotely over video calls, WhatsApp and shared project boards. India is 10h30m (Eastern) to 13h30m (Pacific) ahead of the mainland US in winter. The shared board gives you a place to leave feedback for us to pick up across that time difference.
- 01
Discover
Tell us who buys from you, why they choose you and what you want visitors to do. We use those answers to shape the sitemap.
- 02
Plan
We prepare wireframes before visual design. You review the content and its order while there is still room to change page priorities.
- 03
Build
We develop the site or an editable CMS and test it on real devices and browsers.
- 04
Check
You proofread each page, submit each form and confirm who receives its messages before launch.
- 05
Launch
We set up the domain, email, analytics and Search Console, then walk your team through the site.
Checklist
What to have ready before we talk
Start with a goal and the person who will handle each type of enquiry.
- Your logo in vector format, brand colours and fonts, or a note that they still need creating.
- A ranked list of the services or products you want to feature.
- Logins for your domain, hosting, email, analytics and Search Console, or the name of the person who holds them.
- Real photos of your team, premises and finished work.
- A folder of case studies, permitted client logos, testimonials, certifications and memberships.
Cost & time
What affects the cost and timing?
The scope determines how much design, build and checking work the site needs.
Page templates
Distinct layouts take more design and build work than pages that share a template.
Features
Booking, calculators, member logins, languages or a CRM connection add design and testing work.
Content
Copy and photos ready to publish keep the scope smaller; writing, photography or translation add work.
Migration
Moving old posts, news and downloadable files adds transfer and checking work.

Questions
Asked by businesses in Fargo
Page updated 5 November 2026
How much does it cost to have a website built?
There is no fixed price. The page designs you need, how enquiries are handled, and the readiness of your copy and photos all affect the scope. Decide who will write service descriptions and team bios, and what form confirmations should say. We send a free quote once the scope is agreed.
Is website development still worth it?
A useful website gives visitors clear service information and a way to contact you. Keeping the structure concise also makes it easier for your team to maintain. Build in metadata, structured data and a sitemap, and check that an indexing block has not been left on from development before launch.
What is included in the website build?
The build includes development, an editor and launch setup. We use Next.js for custom development or WordPress when your team needs full editing control. The editor covers pages, news, projects and careers, and we provide a walkthrough alongside the domain, email, analytics and Search Console setup.
Will I own my website?
Yes. You own the domain, content and code, with no lock-in. Keep the domain and hosting accounts in your business’s name and grant access to the people working on the site. That way, your business retains control of its accounts if you change providers later.
What should we do after the website launches?
Give someone responsibility for keeping news, projects and job posts current. Use analytics to track form submissions, calls and WhatsApp clicks as conversions, and check which pages visitors started from. This gives your team a practical way to review enquiries and decide what content needs attention.
