Choosing
Which kind of SEO work do you need?
Start with how customers choose you. Local SEO suits a business whose customers search for a provider nearby. Content-led SEO suits a business whose buyers research their options before making contact. A service business often needs both, with the emphasis set by the way its customers search.
A one-off audit and fixes can suit you if the technical problems are clear and you have an in-house team ready to carry the work forward. An ongoing engagement gives you support with new content, local work and regular reporting. Paid search is another option: visibility lasts while the budget runs, and campaign search terms can help identify topics for organic content.
Your existing platform affects the choice too. If it prevents you editing titles, adding structured data or fixing slow templates, a rebuild could take less effort than working around those restrictions. Check what your team can edit before deciding how much work to put into the current site.
Local
What Arizona organisations need from search
Arizona is home to the headquarters of PetSmart and Circle K. For a retailer with an online store, useful search work includes structuring category pages, writing original product copy, completing product data and controlling filter URLs.
The University of Arizona, Arizona State University and Northern Arizona University are based in the state. An organisation serving prospective students needs guides and service pages planned around the searches those people make as they research their options.
Arizona growers produce crops including lettuce, spinach and durum wheat. A grower selling to other businesses needs content that answers buyer questions through a longer sales process, plus case studies a prospective customer can share internally.

Cost & time
What affects the cost and effort of SEO?
The scope depends on the condition of your site and the work needed across your services.
Site size and health
Duplicate pages, slow templates and indexing errors add fixes compared with a smaller, clean site.
Service areas and branches
Each adds profile and citation work, plus a location page with something specific to say.
Content volume
Improving existing pages takes less work than planning and producing a new set of guides and service pages.
Past problems
Bought links, thin pages, hacked content or a manual action need attention before growth work can begin.
Avoid
Mistakes to avoid with SEO
Buying links
Avoid paying for links intended to influence rankings; Google lists this as link spam.
Copying town pages
Give each location page useful, specific content instead of swapping only the place name on pages that funnel visitors elsewhere.
Incentivising reviews
Ask for genuine feedback without gifts or discounts, and do not select only happy customers to ask.
Publishing pages at scale
Give readers useful information on every page instead of generating large volumes of AI content without added value.
Questions
Asked by businesses in Arizona
Page updated 5 November 2026
What does an SEO company do?
An SEO company examines what is holding a site back in search and improves the pages that matter. That work includes titles, headings, internal links and structured data. Ask a prospective provider how it will prioritise findings and which pages it proposes to work on first.
How much do SEO services cost?
There is no fixed price. The scope is shaped by the technical fixes your site needs, the service pages and guides to be produced, and the local profile, citation and location-page work. We send a free quote once the scope is agreed, so you can see what the proposed work covers.
Do I need a separate AI-search package?
Google says no special markup, AI text files or extra optimisation is needed to appear in AI Overviews or AI Mode. Look closely at a separately sold package and ask the provider to explain the specific work it includes before adding it to your scope.
Who should own my Google Business Profile?
Your business should own it and add the provider as a manager. A manager can edit the profile, but cannot add or remove users or delete it. Agree who will make profile changes and how you will review them before giving anyone access.
How should I judge SEO results?
Judge the work by enquiries and sales from organic search, with rankings and traffic as supporting signs. Search Console’s Performance report shows clicks, impressions, click-through rate and average position by query and page. A report limited to hand-picked keyword rankings leaves out much of the picture.
Can you promise a search ranking?
No. Google says no one can promise a top ranking, so a promised position is a warning sign when you compare providers. Search changes gradually, with competition, content and your site’s history all affecting progress. Ask how the provider will assess the work instead.
