Choosing
Should you choose a fixed-scope project or dedicated developers?
Choose a fixed-scope project when you have a well-defined build, stable requirements and a clear way to test the finished work. You know what the team is working towards from the start. If requirements change during delivery, use a change request so the effect on the agreed work is clear. This gives you a defined project to manage, but less freedom to alter it without revisiting the scope.
Dedicated developers fit a team with its own technical lead who can direct their work. A managed team with its own lead suits you if you want to spend less effort managing delivery. You can also choose how visible the partner is: fully white-label work keeps the partner invisible to your client, while an open arrangement allows the partner to join client calls and help move decisions along.
Start with a single project if you want to test the relationship before making a broader commitment. An ongoing arrangement gives the outside team more opportunity to learn your standards, products and customers. Consider how much direction you can give and how much knowledge you want the team to retain between pieces of work.
Rules
What a project in Malaysia has to handle
If you sell websites and apps through an agency, white-label delivery gives you outside capacity under your own brand. An established business might need developers for a backlog, while a software company might outsource a defined product area such as an app or an integration.
When project work involves transferring personal data abroad, the transfer needs appropriate safeguards. We set up processing and security clauses in the contract and record the agreed safeguards, such as contractual clauses, before access is given.
The cross-border transfer notice also affects the work. We set up a personal data protection notice or other written notice covering the transfer, plus a record of each receiver, destination country, data type and purpose.
How it runs
How an outsourcing project runs with us
We work remotely over video calls, WhatsApp and shared project boards. IST is 2h30m behind Malaysia. Between calls, written end-of-day notes on progress, blockers and open questions let you respond at the start of your own day.
- 01
Pilot
Start with a small paid piece of work, such as a feature or landing page. Use it to check communication, code quality and timekeeping before committing a larger project.
- 02
Kick-off
Agree the tools, overlap hours, update format, escalation contacts and definition of done in writing. You identify the people who need to take part.
- 03
Design, build and launch
We learn your goals and audience, agree the scope, then refine desktop and mobile designs with your feedback before coding. We test on real devices and browsers, set up the domain, email, analytics and search, and provide ongoing support.
- 04
Demos
For a fixed-scope project, we deliver the work end to end with weekly demos. You can review progress against the agreed scope as the build develops.
- 05
Review and acceptance
Check the work on a staging site against the acceptance criteria. Send feedback as tickets with screenshots or screen recordings so the issue is clear to the people doing the work.
Checklist
What to have ready before we talk
Write requirements down and have the outside team confirm them back, so gaps do not become assumptions.
- BriefInclude your goals, users, must-have features, examples you like and what is out of scope.
- Acceptance criteriaSay how each finished item will be checked, which browsers and devices to use, and who signs it off.
- Access planGive each person an account with only the permissions they need, use two-factor sign-in and remove access when they leave the project.
- Client requirementsIf you are an agency, bring approval steps and any client contract terms covering subcontracting, confidentiality or data.
- Contract termsCover confidentiality, intellectual property and what happens to code and access when the work ends.
Cost & time
What affects the cost and timeline
The work you define and the way you want it delivered shape the effort involved.
Scope clarity
Detailed requirements allow a tighter estimate. Open-ended work needs discovery first or time-based billing while the requirements develop.
Skills and capacity
The team size, seniority and mix of design, front-end, back-end or mobile skills affect how the work is staffed.
Coordination
Required working-hours overlap, meetings and reports all add to the delivery work. Agree how much contact you need.
Quality checks
Test coverage, accessibility, performance targets and the browsers and devices you support determine what needs to be built and checked.
Avoid
Mistakes to avoid when outsourcing
Choosing on rate alone
Compare the total effort, including the management time and rework that can follow a poor estimate.
Leaving subcontracting unclear
Ask who will do the work and whether any part goes to a third party. Put the answer in the contract.
Keeping assets in vendor accounts
Keep repositories, hosting and domains in your own accounts so ownership and access remain clear.
Hearing bad news late
Agree that blockers and slips are reported as soon as they are known, giving you a chance to deal with them early.

Questions
Asked by businesses in Malaysia

What is white-label web development?
White-label web development is work an outside team carries out under your agency’s brand. We follow the processes you agree with us, including your project templates, coding standards and client-facing tone. Where agreed, the work can also run through your email domain or ticketing tools, so it fits the way your agency communicates.
How much does white-label development cost?
There is no fixed price. The scope, the design and development work involved, and the working-hours overlap you need all affect the effort. We agree the scope with you before discussing a quote. If you want dedicated developers, tell us which tools and stand-ups you expect them to join as well.
Is outsourcing development a good idea?
It can be a useful way to get outside capacity for a defined piece of work or ongoing needs. Judge the arrangement after each project: review code quality, estimate accuracy and communication, then decide whether to continue, expand the work or bring it in-house. That review gives you a practical basis for your next decision.
What does an offshore development company do?
An offshore development company works with you from another country. In an outsourcing arrangement, you give the outside team defined work or an ongoing capacity requirement, with scope, standards and communication rules agreed between you. The team then delivers against those agreements while you retain the responsibilities you have chosen to keep.
Who owns the code and project assets?
You own the code, domain and content, with no lock-in. We provide an NDA and hand code ownership and access to you. Set out the handover in the agreement so the people responsible for the project know what they will receive and can continue using the assets after the engagement ends.
What support should we agree after launch?
Agree who fixes bugs found after launch and how quickly those reports will be answered. The agreement should also name who handles hosting, updates and monitoring. Make those responsibilities clear before launch, so your team knows where to send a bug report and who is responsible for the ongoing work.
