Choosing
Should you outsource a project or add developers to your team?
Choose a fixed-scope project when you can describe the build, its requirements are stable and you know how you will accept the finished work. That gives everyone a shared target. If you want to change the requirements during the project, the change goes through a request, so allow effort for reviewing its effect on the agreed work.
Choose dedicated developers or a team when you have ongoing work and priorities shift. You direct their work, so you need time to manage it. Developers placed inside your team suit you if you already have a technical lead; a managed team with its own lead suits you if you want to spend less effort managing delivery.
A single project is a way to test the relationship with limited risk. An ongoing arrangement gives the delivery team time to learn your standards, products and customers. To help you choose, we learn about your business, audience and goals, then agree the scope with you before design and development begin.
Market
What buyers in Ireland expect
Your brief will depend on who needs the work. An agency might need a website or app delivered under its own brand, while a software company might need an outside team to take responsibility for an integration or an admin area. A startup might need a product built or extended before recruiting engineers; an e-commerce brand might need store development and campaign pages.
For a website using cookies that are not strictly necessary, users need clear information and must give consent before those cookies are stored or accessed. We set up a consent banner and the relevant cookie controls as part of the website build.
Rules
What an outsourcing project in Ireland has to handle
If the work involves transferring personal data to us in India, address that transfer in the contract before access is handed over. India is not on the European Commission’s adequacy list. Without an adequacy decision, appropriate safeguards can be used, and the standard contractual clauses are relevant for most organisations.
The clauses have different modules for different transfer scenarios, so the choice needs to match the parties’ roles as controllers, processors or sub-processors. We set up the contract with you, including the applicable clauses and the agreed arrangements for code ownership and access.
How it runs
How an outsourcing project runs with us
We work remotely through video calls, WhatsApp and shared project boards. IST is 5h30m ahead of Ireland, or 4h30m during Irish summer time, from the last Sunday in March to the last Sunday in October. Between calls, written end-of-day notes cover progress, blockers and questions, ready for you to answer at the start of your day.
- 01
Discover
Tell us about your business, audience and goals. We use that discussion to agree the scope with you, so the work has a shared starting point.
- 02
Kick off
Agree the tools, overlap hours, update format, escalation contacts and definition of done with us in writing. This gives your team a route for decisions and questions.
- 03
Stay in touch
Work with a project lead, receive written updates and join a call at the agreed overlap time. Bring open decisions to the call so the people doing the work know what to do next.
- 04
Hand over
Receive the code, credentials, documentation and deployment steps. Your team or another delivery team can then carry the work forward with access to what it needs.
Checklist
What to have ready before we talk
A written brief and a clear route to approval help us understand the work and ask useful questions.
- BriefDescribe the users, must-have features, examples you like and what is outside scope.
- Access planSpecify an account for each person, the least permissions needed, two-factor sign-in and removal when someone leaves.
- End-client requirementsBring approval steps and any subcontracting, confidentiality or data terms the work must respect.
- Contract termsSet out confidentiality, intellectual property assignment and what happens to code and access when work ends.
- Acceptance criteriaName the browsers and devices for checks, how each item is assessed and who signs it off.
Cost & time
What affects the cost and timing of outsourced development
The work involved changes with the brief, the systems we need to work with and the way your team wants to review progress.
Scope clarity
Well-specified work can be estimated more tightly. Open-ended work needs discovery first or a time-based arrangement while requirements take shape.
Existing systems and code
Integrations add work, as does understanding code taken over from another team before making changes to it.
Overlap and reporting
The hours you need us available, along with the meetings and reports you expect, affect how the work is organised.
Review
Work is checked on a staging site against acceptance criteria. Feedback tickets with screenshots or recordings help make the changes clear.
Avoid
Mistakes to avoid when outsourcing development
Choosing on rate alone
Compare the total effort, including estimates, rework and management. A lower rate can still leave you with more work to oversee.
Leaving the brief vague
An outside team cannot ask questions in the corridor. Write down the requirements and have the delivery team confirm its understanding.
Keeping code in a supplier’s accounts
Put repositories, hosting and domains under your own accounts so access and ownership stay clear.
Missing subcontracting details
Ask who will do the work and whether it will be passed to third parties. Put the answer in the contract.

Questions
Asked by businesses in Ireland
Page updated 5 November 2026
What is white-label web development?
It means a delivery team builds websites or apps for your clients under your agency’s name. We follow the processes and brand you agree with us, including project templates, coding standards and client-facing tone. Where agreed, that can also include working through your email domain or ticketing tools.
How much does white-label development cost?
There is no fixed price. The scope of the project, the skills and seniority needed, and the working-hours overlap all affect the quote. A defined project and dedicated developers involve different arrangements. Share the work you need and the tools your team uses, and ask us for a quote once the scope is agreed.
How can I test an outsourcing arrangement before committing to more work?
Start with a small paid pilot, such as a feature or a landing page. Use it to check how communication works, review code quality and see how the team keeps time. That gives you practical evidence from your own work before you decide whether to hand over a larger piece of delivery.
What does an offshore development company do?
An offshore development company takes on work for a client in another country. In an outsourcing arrangement, that might be a defined piece of work or ongoing capacity supplied by an outside team. The useful detail to agree is how that team will deliver: the scope, standards and communication rules should be clear to both sides.
Who owns the code and accounts?
You own your domain, content and code, with no lock-in. We provide an NDA and hand code ownership and access to you. Make ownership and the transfer of access part of your agreement from the start, so your team knows what it will receive when the work ends.
What happens after launch?
We set up the domain, email, analytics and search at launch, followed by ongoing support. Agree the support responsibilities in advance: who fixes bugs found after launch, how quickly they are answered, and who handles hosting, updates and monitoring. That gives your team a clear point of contact for work after release.
