Choosing
Should you choose cross-platform, native or a web app?
We usually build with React Native. It gives you one codebase for iOS and Android, while allowing native modules where a feature needs them. React Native uses JavaScript or TypeScript and renders each platform’s own interface components. Web developers can contribute, and some logic can be shared with a React website.
Native development suits an app built around deep device features, heavy graphics or complex background work. Swift for iPhone and Kotlin for Android give you separate codebases to build and maintain. Flutter is another option: it draws its own interface, which suits a heavily branded design that should look the same across platforms, provided your team is comfortable working in Dart.
A progressive web app can suit a staff tool and avoids store review. It will not appear in app stores unless packaged for them, though, and on iPhone it can ask to send notifications only after someone adds it to their Home Screen. The right choice starts with the features your users actually need.
Local
What West Palm Beach organisations need from an app
The city’s convention centre has exhibit halls and meeting rooms. A booking app for a venue like this needs a clear booking flow, reminders and a staff view of the day’s schedule. Staff also need a way to update information without asking a developer to make each change.
Palm Beach Zoo is a local recreation attraction. An app for an attraction with repeat visitors could support loyalty, saved payment details and timely notifications, with a quick checkout for returning customers.
Employers listed for West Palm Beach include Pratt & Whitney and Sikorsky Aircraft. For an employer with field inspection or maintenance work, the useful features to assess are offline forms, photos and signatures, followed by syncing records when a connection returns.
Rules
What a US app project has to handle
Payment flows need to match what you sell. Apple requires in-app purchases for digital content, features and subscriptions used in the app; physical goods and services used outside it need another payment method. We set up the appropriate purchase flow, including a card gateway where needed. Stripe lists the US as a country where businesses can sign up to accept payments.
For a state or local government app, the accessibility requirement changes the screen design. We design screens against WCAG 2.1 Level AA, the standard specified for those organisations’ mobile apps.
How it runs
How an app project runs with us
We work with you remotely. India is 10h30m ahead of Eastern time in winter, and 1 hour less during daylight saving time. We use the shared project board to keep decisions and feedback available across that difference.
- 01
Discover
We learn about your business, audience and goals, then agree the scope with you. Bring the tasks your users need to complete and the systems your staff already use.
- 02
Design
We refine the iOS and Android screens with your feedback before writing code. Put the clickable prototype in front of customers or staff; changing a screen at this stage takes less work than changing it after the build.
- 03
Test
You receive builds on your own phone through TestFlight or Google Play’s testing tracks. Try the tasks people will actually perform and tell us where they get stuck.
- 04
Set notification prompts
We ask for permission when the benefit is clear, such as after an order. On Android 13 and later, notifications remain off until the user allows them.
- 05
Submit
We handle the store listings, submission and review under your developer accounts. You retain access to those accounts for the release.
Checklist
What to have ready before we talk
Bring whatever you already have for these decisions.
- A short list of first-release tasks, in the order users would do them.
- The website, booking, CRM or payment systems involved, plus their API and admin-access details.
- A privacy policy that reflects the data the app will collect, for its listing and in-app link.
- A plan for keeping store privacy answers aligned with data collected by analytics or advertising tools.
- An account-deletion flow if users will be able to create accounts in the iPhone app.
- A working demo account and live backend for submission if the app has a login.
Cost & time
What affects the cost and timeline
The scope determines how much design, build and testing work is needed.
Integrations
Each payment gateway, booking system, map or device adds setup, testing and failure handling.
Offline work
Showing previously loaded data takes less work than allowing edits offline and resolving conflicts when records sync.
User content
An app that accepts user-generated content needs filtering, reporting, blocking and published contact details.
Notification rules
Messages need a sending service, rules for recipients and timing, and settings for switching categories off.
Questions
Asked by businesses in West Palm Beach
Page updated 5 November 2026
How much does it cost to have an app developed?
There is no fixed price. The main drivers include the number of user roles, whether a backend and admin panel already exist, and the amount of custom design across screens. We send a free quote once the scope is agreed, so you can see the work involved before deciding.
How do I choose an app development company?
Choose a team whose proposed approach fits the features you need and whose release process leaves you in control of the app. Ask how it will use your developer accounts and what it would build beyond your existing website: Apple’s guidelines call for more than a repackaged site.
What is included in the first release?
The scope can include the app, its backend and the tools your staff use to manage it. We can connect the app, website and admin tools to one backend. Include analytics and crash reporting from the first release so you can see screen use, drop-offs and device crashes.
Will I own the app and its code?
Yes. You own your code, content and domain, with no lock-in. Keep the developer accounts, signing access and code repository in your business’s name as well. That makes it easier to move the app to another team if your working arrangements change.
What happens after the app launches?
We provide ongoing support for bug fixes, operating-system updates and new features. Google Play requires apps and updates to target a recent Android API level, so maintenance releases need planning. Some JavaScript and content fixes can go out over the air; native code changes still need a store release.
