Choosing
Should you build a cross-platform app or go native?
We usually build with React Native, using one codebase for iOS and Android and adding native modules when a feature needs them. It uses JavaScript or TypeScript and renders each platform’s own interface components. If you already have a React web app, some logic can be shared, and web developers can contribute to the mobile work.
Native development suits an app that depends on deep device features, heavy graphics or complex background work. The trade-off is maintaining separate Swift and Kotlin codebases. Flutter is another option: it draws its own interface, which suits a heavily branded design intended to look identical across platforms, provided your team is willing to work in Dart.
A progressive web app can suit a staff tool and avoids store review, though it will not appear in the stores unless packaged for them. On an iPhone, it can ask to send notifications only after someone adds it to the Home Screen. We start with your business, audience and goals, then agree the scope with you before choosing what to build.
Local
What New Orleans organisations need from an app
New Orleans is a port and commercial centre, and field teams working on delivery or inspection jobs need more than a form on a phone. An app can collect photos, signatures and location details for each job. If staff must edit records without signal, the build also needs a way to sync changes and handle conflicts when they reconnect.
For New Orleans healthcare organisations, appointment flows can bring booking, reminders and payments into one place, with a staff view of the day’s schedule. That gives the people managing appointments a practical part of the product to review alongside the patient-facing screens.
Tourism and convention businesses in New Orleans may already have customers using a web platform. When that use is frequent, an app can reuse the same accounts and data, while an admin panel gives staff a place to manage content and look up customers.
Rules
What a US app project has to handle
For a state or local government app, the US accessibility rule requires WCAG 2.1 Level AA. We design the app screens against that standard and include accessibility checks in the work, so the requirement is considered during the build.
For physical goods or services, Google Play billing must not be used; Stripe lists the US as a country where businesses can sign up to accept payments. We set up a payment gateway for that checkout, and configure Google Play billing when you sell digital subscriptions in the app.
How it runs
How an app project runs with us
We work remotely over video calls, WhatsApp and shared project boards. India is 10h30m to 13h30m ahead of the mainland US in winter; daylight saving changes the gap in most places. Shared boards keep decisions and feedback visible between calls.

Discover
We use the agreed scope to organise the work. You help us confirm the tasks the app and its supporting systems need to cover.
- 02
Design
We prepare iOS and Android screens and refine them with your feedback before writing code. Put the clickable prototype in front of customers or staff; changes are cheaper at this stage.
- 03
Build and measure
We include analytics and crash reporting in the first release. You can use the reports to see which screens people use, where they give up and which devices crash.
- 04
Prepare for review
If the app has a login, have a working demo account and live backend ready for Apple’s submission review. Leave room in the launch plan for fixes and resubmission.
Checklist
What to have ready before we talk
Bring these details to the first conversation.
- Developer accountsStart registering Apple and Google accounts in your company’s name; organisation accounts need a D-U-N-S number.
- Connected systemsList your website, booking system, CRM or payment provider, noting available APIs and who holds admin access.
- Privacy policyPrepare a policy matching the data the app collects, for the Apple listing and a link inside the app.
- Testing accessCheck whether a new personal Google Play account needs a closed test before production release.
- Data collectionIdentify analytics and advertising tools so the store privacy answers cover their data collection.
Cost & time
What affects app cost and delivery time
The scope changes the design, build and testing work.
Integrations
Each payment gateway, booking system or connected device needs setup, testing and a plan for failures.
Live features
Tracking, chat and presence need persistent connections and more backend work than screens that load data on request.
Screen design
Custom animation, extra languages, right-to-left scripts and tablet layouts add design and testing across screens.
User content
Apps with user-generated material need filtering, reporting, user blocking and published contact details under Apple’s requirements.
Existing systems
A documented backend API reduces the work; building a backend and admin panel from scratch adds a substantial piece of the project.
Questions
Asked by businesses in New Orleans
Page updated 5 November 2026
How much does it cost to develop an app?
There is no fixed price. The scope of the backend and the rules and settings for notifications shape the work. We can discuss how the app, website and admin tools should share a backend, as well as who should receive each notification. Ask us for a free quote once we have agreed the scope.
How do I choose an app development company?
Look for a team that can explain who handles each stage of the work. We handle design, development and launch with the same team, so the screens, build and release are considered as parts of one project. Ask a prospective developer who will be responsible for each stage before you appoint them.
What should an app with customer accounts include?
It should include a way for customers to start deleting their accounts inside the app. Apple does not accept deactivation alone. Google Play also requires an in-app path to delete the account and associated data, plus a web link where people can request deletion. Include those flows when planning the account screens.
Who owns the app and its store accounts?
You own your code, content and domain, with no lock-in. We handle the store listings, submission and review under your own developer accounts. Register those accounts for your business and retain access to them, so the published app remains connected to accounts you control.
What happens after the app launches?
Ongoing support covers bug fixes, updates for new iOS and Android versions, and new features. Review how many users return, where they leave the main task and whether releases affect the crash-free rate. Some JavaScript and content fixes can go out over the air; native code changes and new permissions still need a store release.
