Choosing

Should you choose cross-platform, native or a web app?

React Native shares most of its code between iOS and Android. It suits apps built around accounts, forms, lists, maps, bookings, payments and content. It renders each platform’s own interface components, and some logic can be shared with a React web app. This gives you a common codebase to develop while retaining an interface suited to each phone.

Native development uses Swift for iPhone and Kotlin for Android. It fits products that rely on deep device features, heavy graphics, complex background work or new platform features at launch. The trade-off is maintaining a separate codebase for each platform, so the device features you need should justify that extra work.

A progressive web app is another option for a staff tool. It skips store review, but it will not appear in the app stores unless packaged for them. On iPhone, it can ask to send notifications only after the user adds it to the Home Screen. Decide how people will find and return to the tool before choosing this route.

Local

What Kuwait City organisations need from an app

Kuwait City is home to the headquarters of most Kuwaiti corporations and the country’s banking system. An organisation arranging appointments needs customers to book and pay, reminders to reach them, and a staff view of the day’s schedule. A consumer startup needs a way to reach both phone platforms and see whether users return after installing. Those needs should shape the screens and reporting you ask for in the first release.

Kuwait’s petroleum-based economy also puts field work in view. A business managing inspections or maintenance needs job forms that capture photos, signatures and location, then sync to the office when signal returns. For a shop or restaurant serving repeat customers, the useful details are different: reordering, loyalty, saved payment details and a fast checkout.

Rules

What an app project in Kuwait needs to handle

Arabic is Kuwait’s official language, so decide which screens and content your customers need in Arabic. We plan the Arabic screen content and layout alongside the rest of the app, including space for right-to-left text.

If your business is a CITRA-licensed service provider covered by the data privacy regulation, collecting personal data requires explicit consent and terms in Arabic and English. We set up the consent request and access to both versions of the terms in the app, so users can see them when they are asked to agree.

How it runs

How an app project runs with us

We work remotely over video calls, WhatsApp and shared project boards. IST is 2h30m ahead, so the shared board gives you a place to review work and leave feedback across the time difference.

  1. 01

    Discover

Tell us about your business, audience and goals. We use that conversation to agree the scope with you, including what users need to do in the release.

  2. 02

    Build

We use a React Native codebase for both platforms, adding native modules where needed. You can review the product as the app takes shape around the agreed scope.

  3. 03

    Test

We send test builds to your phone through TestFlight or the Google Play internal or closed testing tracks. Use them as your customers would, then share what needs attention.

  4. 04

    Release

We handle the store listings, submission and review under your own developer accounts. You retain access to those accounts while we work through the release with you.

Checklist

What to have ready before we talk

Bring the following to make the discussion more useful.

  • A short, ordered list of what users must do in the first release.
  • Your company’s Apple and Google developer accounts; organisation accounts need a D-U-N-S number for verification.
  • A plan for closed testing if you intend to use a new personal Google Play developer account.
  • A privacy policy that reflects the data the app collects, for the listing and the app itself.
  • A working demo account and live backend for submission if the app requires a login.

Cost & time

What affects the cost and timeline

The scope determines how much design, development and testing the project needs.

  • User roles

Customers, drivers and staff each need their own screens and permissions, even when they share a backend.

  • Live features

Tracking, chat and presence need persistent connections and more backend work than screens that load data on request.

  • Existing systems

A documented backend API reduces the work; a new backend and admin panel add a substantial build alongside the app.

  • User content

Posts or other user-generated material need filtering, reporting, user blocking and published contact details.

Avoid

Mistakes to avoid

  • Wrapping your website in an app shell

Give people useful app functionality. Apple expects more than a repackaged website, and a shell risks rejection.

  • Requesting notification permission immediately

Ask when the benefit is clear, such as after an order. On Android 13 and later, notifications stay off until the user allows them.

  • Adding an analytics or advertising SDK without revisiting privacy answers: Update Google Play’s Data safety form to cover data collected by third-party SDKs.

Questions

Asked by businesses in Kuwait City

Page updated 5 November 2026

How much does it cost to develop an app?

There is no fixed price. Offline editing and later synchronisation with conflict handling add substantially more work than showing last-loaded data without a signal. Custom animation, multiple languages, right-to-left layouts and tablet designs also add design and testing across screens. Agree the first-release scope before asking for a quote.

How should you choose an app development company?

Choose a team that can explain the whole product and how your staff will operate it. Ask how the app, backend and admin panel fit together, and how staff will handle tasks such as looking up customers or issuing refunds. If you already have a website, ask how it will share accounts and data with the app.

What should an app include for notifications and accounts?

Plan the controls behind those features as well as the screens customers see. Push notifications need a sending service, rules for who receives each message and when, and settings for switching off unwanted categories. If people can create an account, Apple also requires them to be able to start deleting it inside the app.

Who owns the app and its accounts?

You own your domain, content and code, with no lock-in. Keep developer accounts, signing access and code repositories in your business’s name too. If an agency or freelancer holds those assets in its own name, moving the app later becomes harder, even when the product itself is complete.

Can the app take payments and subscriptions?

Yes. We build in-app purchases and subscriptions for both stores. The checkout must match what you sell: digital content, features and subscriptions used in the app generally use store billing, while physical goods and services used outside the app need another payment method. Some storefronts or regions allow alternative payment options.

What happens after the app launches?

We provide ongoing support for bug fixes, platform updates and new features. Review how many people return and where they leave the main task, as well as the crash-free rate. Plan maintenance releases too: Google Play requires apps and updates to target a recent Android API level.
