Choosing
Should you build a cross-platform or native app?
A cross-platform app shares most of its code across iOS and Android. It fits many apps built around accounts, forms, bookings, payments or content. You still need to design the screens and test the experience on both platforms, but you have a shared codebase to work with.
We usually use React Native. It uses JavaScript or TypeScript and renders each platform’s own interface components. Web developers can contribute, and an app and a React website can share some logic. Where a feature needs native modules, we include them; when an app needs deep device features, we go native.
Flutter is another cross-platform option. It uses Dart and draws its own interface, which suits a heavily branded app whose screens need to look identical across platforms. Choosing it also means working in Dart. The useful decision is based on the screens, device features and future work your app needs.
Local
What Dehradun organisations need from an app
Healthcare is part of the city’s economy. A clinic planning an app needs a booking flow that patients can complete, reminders and payments, plus a staff view of the day’s schedule. Those staff screens need attention during scoping too: the app has to support the people managing appointments as well as the people making them.
The city is also a commercial centre for the Doon Valley and parts of Uttarakhand. A business whose customers already use its web platform might add an app for frequent use while keeping accounts and data in the same backend. For a delivery or maintenance team, the work could instead centre on job forms, photos, signatures and location, with records synced when signal returns.
Rules
What an app project in India has to handle
UPI supports payments from customers to merchants in India, so we plan the checkout around the goods or services you sell. Store rules affect that design: digital content, features and subscriptions used in the app require store billing, while physical goods and services need another payment route. We set up in-app purchases and subscriptions on the stores, with the checkout flow reflecting what the customer is buying.
How it runs
How an app project runs with us
We work remotely from India using video calls, WhatsApp and shared project boards. You can review the work and give feedback as it develops.
- 01
Discover
We learn about your business, audience and goals, then agree the scope with you. Bring the main task you want customers or staff to complete.
- 02
Design
Put the clickable prototype in front of customers or staff and tell us where they hesitate. A screen is cheaper to change before it has been built.
- 03
Build and test
You receive test builds on your own phone through TestFlight or Google Play testing tracks. Use them for real tasks and share what needs adjusting.
- 04
Prepare submission
If the app has a login, provide a working demo account and make sure the backend is live. Leave room in the launch plan for fixes and resubmission.
- 05
Launch
We handle the store listings, submission and review under your own developer accounts. You retain access to the accounts used for the release.
Checklist
What to have ready before we talk
A little preparation helps us agree what the first release needs.
- Write down the actions users need to complete, in the order they would do them.
- List systems the app must connect to, their APIs and who holds admin access.
- Start registering developer accounts in your company’s name; organisation accounts need a D-U-N-S number.
- Check the closed-testing requirement if you have a new personal Google Play account.
- Check who controls your developer accounts, signing access and code repositories.
Cost & time
What affects the cost and timeline of app development
The work changes with the flows, systems and screens you need to support.
User roles
Customers, drivers and staff each need their own screens and permissions, even when they share a backend.
Existing systems
A documented backend API saves work compared with building a backend and admin panel from scratch.
Live features
Tracking, chat and presence need persistent connections and extra backend work.
Offline work
Showing previously loaded data is more modest than editing records offline and resolving conflicts when they sync.
Screen design
Custom animation, extra languages and tablet layouts add design and testing across screens.
Questions
Asked by businesses in Dehradun
Page updated 5 November 2026
How much does it cost to develop an app?
There is no fixed price. Moderation for user-generated content, notification rules and settings, and analytics and crash reporting all add to the scope. For example, notifications need rules for who receives each message and when, as well as settings people can use to switch off categories they do not want.
How should I choose an app development company?
Ask who will design, build and launch the app, and how the team makes decisions about the user experience. We handle those stages with the same team. One useful question is how early users must sign in: Apple expects apps without significant account-based features to allow use without a login.
What is included behind the app screens?
The work can include a backend for accounts and data and an admin panel for your staff. From that panel, staff can edit content, look up customers, issue refunds or block abusive accounts. We can also build a shared backend for your app, website and admin tools.
Who owns the app and its code?
You own your code, content and domain, with no lock-in. That gives your business control over those assets if you decide to move the product later. Ask for access to the code and domain as part of handover, and keep your content where your team can reach it.
What support does an app need after launch?
Plan for maintenance releases and check how people use the app after installing it. Google Play requires apps and updates to target a recent Android API level. Measure where users leave the main task and watch the crash-free rate to see whether a release helped or hurt.
