Choosing
Should you choose cross-platform or native development?
React Native is a practical choice for an app built around accounts, forms, bookings, payments or content. It shares most of the code between iOS and Android while rendering each platform’s own interface components. We build with a shared React Native codebase and add native modules where the app needs them.
Native development suits deeper device features, heavy graphics, complex background work or new platform features needed at launch. It gives you separate Swift and Kotlin codebases, so there is more code to build and maintain. That trade-off is worth examining before those device features become part of your first-release scope.
Most apps we discuss are a good fit for React Native, while we go native when the product needs deep device features. We help you choose by looking at what people need to do in the app and which device capabilities those actions require, before settling on the build approach.
Market
What app buyers in Bahrain need to plan for
Arabic is the official language, and English is widely used in business. Decide which language each customer and staff flow needs, then include the corresponding screens and content in the design scope. Check the checkout too: BenefitPay is the national electronic wallet, so ask your payment provider whether it supports it before choosing the payment flow.
What you sell affects checkout. We set up in-app purchase for digital content, features and subscriptions used in the app; physical goods and services used outside it need another payment method, such as a card gateway. Google Play also separates billing for digital purchases from payment for physical goods and services.
Rules
What a mobile app project in Bahrain has to handle
Customer accounts and app data need a clear storage plan. Personal data transfers out of the country are restricted unless the destination has sufficient protection or an applicable exception is available. We map where the backend stores and processes personal data and, where consent is the applicable exception, set up a consent step for the transfer in the account flow.
We also plan the breach-response flow with you: record when a breach is discovered and identify who will assess and make the notification. The notification requirement applies within 72 hours of discovery unless the breach would not affect data subjects’ rights.
How it runs
How a mobile app development project runs with us
India time is 2h30m ahead. We use video calls for discussions, with WhatsApp and a shared project board for questions and decisions between calls, so you can review work and leave feedback remotely.
- 01
Discover
we learn about your business, audience and goals, then agree the scope with you. Bring the actions you want a customer or member of staff to complete in the first release.
- 02
Design
we prepare screens for iOS and Android and refine them with your feedback before writing code. Review the flow as well as the appearance, including what happens when someone needs to go back.
- 03
Prototype review
put the clickable prototype in front of a few customers or staff. Their reactions help you find a confusing screen while it is cheaper to change than a built version.
- 04
Build and test
we send test builds to your phone through TestFlight or Google Play’s internal or closed testing tracks. Use the app in real situations and share the points where a task feels difficult.
- 05
Store release
we handle the listings, submission and review under your own developer accounts. You keep access to those accounts while we prepare the material needed for release.
Checklist
What to have ready before we talk
A few practical details will make the first scope discussion more useful.
- List the first-release actions in the order a user would complete them, from opening the app to finishing their task.
- Note the website, CRM, booking system, ERP and payment provider the app must work with, along with API availability and admin access.
- Start registering Apple and Google developer accounts in your company’s name; organisation verification needs a D-U-N-S number.
- Prepare a privacy policy that matches the data the app collects; Apple requires a link in the listing and inside the app.
- Identify accounts and data that the app, website and admin tools should share through a common backend.
Cost & time
What affects the cost and timeline of app development
The scope determines how much design, backend and testing work is needed.
User roles
customers, drivers and staff each need their own screens and permissions, even when they use the same backend.
Live features
tracking, chat and presence need persistent connections and more backend work than screens that load data on request.
Screen variations
custom animation, several languages, right-to-left scripts and tablet layouts add design and testing across screens.
User-generated content
moderation needs filtering, reporting, user blocking and published contact details to meet Apple’s requirements.
Avoid
Mistakes to avoid with mobile app development
Wrapping the website in an app shell
plan useful app-specific functionality, since Apple’s guidelines ask for more than a repackaged website.
Requesting notification permission at first launch
ask after an action such as an order, when the benefit is clear to the customer.
Adding an analytics or advertising SDK without revisiting privacy answers: update the Google Play Data safety form to cover data collected by third-party SDKs.
Leaving access in an agency’s name
keep developer accounts, signing access and code repositories in your business’s name so the app is easier to move.

Page updated 5 November 2026
How much does it cost to have an app developed?
There is no fixed price: the work changes with the scope. A new backend and admin panel, payment or subscription flows, and the availability of a documented API all affect the work involved. Agree what the first release must do, then ask for a quote against that scope.
How do I choose a mobile app development company?
Choose a team that can discuss your users’ tasks and explain who will design and build the product. At MSH Technologies, you talk directly to the people doing that work. We are a web, app and AI studio in India, and that direct conversation helps you bring questions to the people working on your product.
Would a web app be enough instead of a store app?
A progressive web app can suit a staff tool and skips store review. It will not appear in the app stores unless it is packaged for them. On an iPhone, it can ask to send notifications only after the user has added it to the Home Screen.
What should be included in the first release?
Include analytics, crash reporting and the account controls your users need. Analytics and crash tools show which screens people use and which devices crash. If the app lets people create accounts, plan an in-app deletion path; Google Play also requires a web link for deletion requests.
Who owns the app after it is built?
You own your code, content and domain, with no lock-in. Keep access to the working materials as well as the finished product. For notifications, agree the message rules and give users in-app settings to switch off categories they do not want.
What support does an app need after launch?
Plan for bug fixes, operating-system updates and new features. Google Play requires apps and updates to target a recent Android API level, so maintenance releases need a place in your plan. Some JavaScript and content fixes can ship over the air, while native code changes and new permissions need a store release.
