Should you build a cross-platform app, a native app or a web app?
For most apps, we use React Native to share a codebase across iOS and Android. It uses each platform’s own interface components, and some logic can also be shared with a React website. That gives you a way to maintain common app logic while presenting familiar controls on each phone. It is worth discussing which parts of an existing website, if any, are suitable to share.
Native development fits an app that needs deep device features, heavy graphics or complex background work. The trade-off is separate codebases for iPhone and Android, each needing development and maintenance. Flutter is another option for a highly customised interface: it draws its own screens and uses Dart, so it suits a team prepared to work in that language.
