What you get

What’s included in mobile app development

  • App design

Screens and flows designed for iOS and Android conventions.

  • Cross-platform build

One React Native codebase for both platforms, with native modules where needed.

  • Backend & APIs

Accounts, data, notifications and admin tools behind the app.

  • Push notifications

Timely, targeted notifications that bring people back.

  • Payments & subscriptions

In-app purchases and subscriptions on both stores.

  • Store launch

App Store and Google Play listings, submission and release.

Tools we use: React Native, Expo, Swift, Kotlin, Firebase, Node.js.

Choosing

Should you choose a cross-platform or native app?

React Native is a practical choice for an app built around accounts, forms, lists, maps, bookings, payments or content. It shares most of the code across iOS and Android, while rendering interface components from each platform. Web developers can contribute, and some logic can be shared with a React web app. We use React Native for most apps and add native modules where the product needs them.

A native build gives you separate Swift and Kotlin codebases. It suits deep device features, heavy graphics, complex background work or a need to use new platform features at launch, with more code to maintain. Flutter is another cross-platform option: it draws its own interface, which suits highly customised screens, though the team needs to work in Dart. For a staff tool, a progressive web app is also worth considering. It skips store review, but does not appear in the stores unless packaged for them, and iPhone users must add it to their Home Screen before it can request notification permission.

Local

What organisations in Asir Region might need from an app

King Khalid University has its main campus in Abha and satellite campuses elsewhere in the region. For a maintenance or inspection team supporting those sites, an app could capture job forms, photos, signatures and locations, then sync records to the office when a signal returns. The scope should distinguish viewing saved information from changing records while offline.

Asir also has technical and vocational education centres. A centre with an existing web platform could use the same accounts and data in an app for people who use that platform frequently. Staff would need an admin panel to update content and look up accounts without calling a developer each time.

Rules

What an app project in Saudi Arabia has to handle

Arabic is Saudi Arabia’s language, so an Arabic interface is a useful decision to settle during scope. We design and test right-to-left screens where you need them, including layouts across the app. For online payments for physical goods, we set up a payment provider that supports mada cards through 3D Secure. For digital goods or subscriptions sold inside an Android app, we set up the Google Play billing flow; that billing system must not be used for physical goods or services.

How it runs

How a mobile app project runs with us

We work remotely over video calls, WhatsApp and shared project boards. India time is 2h30m ahead, so we keep decisions and feedback on the shared board as well as discussing them on calls.

  1. 01

    Discover and design

We learn about your audience and goals, agree the scope with you and prepare screen designs for your feedback before coding starts. The same team handles design, development and launch, followed by ongoing support.

  2. 02

    Try the prototype

Put the clickable design in front of a few customers or staff and watch where they hesitate. Changes to screens are less costly at this stage than after they have been built.

  3. 03

    Test on your phone

During development, you receive builds through TestFlight on iPhone and an internal or closed Google Play testing track. Use them for the tasks your customers or staff will actually perform.

  4. 04

    Prepare the release

We handle the store listings, submission and review under your own developer accounts. You provide the account access and review the listing details with us.

Checklist

What to have ready before we talk

Bring the decisions and access details that shape the first release.

  • List the tasks people need to complete, in the order they will do them.
  • Note the website, booking system, CRM or payment provider involved, whether each has an API and who holds admin access.
  • Start registering Apple and Google developer accounts in your company’s name; organisation verification needs a D-U-N-S number.
  • If you plan a new personal Google Play account, prepare for its required closed test before production release.
  • For an app with a login, prepare a working demo account and a live backend for Apple’s submission review.

Cost & time

What affects the cost and time needed

The amount of work comes from the flows, systems and controls the app needs.

  • User roles

Customers, drivers and staff each need their own screens and permissions, even when they share a backend.

  • Integrations

A payment gateway, booking system or scanner adds setup, testing and work to handle failures.

  • Existing systems

A backend with a documented API reduces work; creating a backend and admin panel from scratch adds a substantial build.

  • User-generated content

Posts or other contributions need filtering, reporting, user blocking and published contact details for Apple’s requirements.

Avoid

Mistakes to avoid

  • Wrapping a website in an app shell

Give people useful app functionality beyond the existing site, since a repackaged website risks Apple rejection.

  • Putting login before all useful content

Let people see or use the app first when it has no significant account-based features.

  • Requesting notification permission immediately

Ask when the benefit is clear, such as after an order. On Android 13 and later, notifications remain off until the user allows them.

  • Leaving access in an agency’s name

Keep developer accounts, signing access and code repositories in your business’s name so the app is easier to move.

Questions

Asked by businesses in Asir Region

Page updated 5 November 2026

How much does it cost to have an app developed?

There is no fixed price. Offline editing with later syncing and conflict handling adds more work than showing the last loaded data without a signal. The scope of those offline tasks is a major driver. Ask us for a quote once the scope is agreed.

How do I choose an app development company?

Ask how the team will measure use and diagnose failures after release. A useful proposal includes analytics and crash reporting in the first release, so you can see which screens people use, where they abandon a task and which devices experience crashes. Ask to see how those findings will inform future work.

Can the app use the same accounts as my website?

Yes. We build a backend that serves your app, website and admin tools. If people can create accounts in the Android app, the build also needs an in-app route to delete the account and associated data, plus a web link for deletion requests.

Will I own the app code?

You own your code, content and domain, with no lock-in. That gives you access to the materials you need if your plans change after launch. Agree the practical handover of those materials as part of the project, so you know where to find them.

What support does an app need after launch?

Plan maintenance releases for platform changes. Google Play requires new apps and updates to target a recent Android API level, and outdated apps can become unavailable to new users on newer devices. Some JavaScript and content fixes can use over-the-air updates; native code changes and new permissions still need a store release.

How should push notifications work?

Decide which messages are useful, who should receive them and when they should be sent. A sending service such as Firebase Cloud Messaging handles delivery, while in-app settings let people switch off categories they do not want. Those choices belong in the notification design from the start.
