Choosing
Should you build native or cross-platform?
Native Swift with SwiftUI suits an iPhone-only product, particularly when widgets, an Apple Watch app or HealthKit sit at the centre of the experience. The trade-off is a separate build if you add Android. That means treating a later Android app as its own development effort when you decide what your product needs to support.
React Native or Flutter suits a product that needs Android soon. Most code is shared across the platforms, while native Swift modules can cover features the framework does not handle. Decide which Apple features the app needs before choosing: shared code is useful, but those additional modules still need their own implementation.
Also decide how people will use the app. An iPad version can scale up the iPhone layout or use dedicated side-by-side panes, which suit work at a desk or counter. If the app is only for your own staff, private distribution through Apple Business Manager or Apple School Manager is an option instead of a public listing.
Market
What do app users in Saudi Arabia expect?
Start with the task your users want to complete. A consumer brand with an iPhone-heavy customer base might plan for loyalty, reordering and Apple Pay checkout. Map those actions into the screens and flows before deciding which additional features belong in the app.
A staff app has a different audience. If you issue iPhones or iPads to your team, the app might support inspections, sales visits or stock checks on those devices. Health, fitness and wellbeing products need a separate look at HealthKit or Apple Watch features and how sensitive personal data is handled.
Rules
What should a Saudi Arabia iOS project handle at checkout?
If you sell physical goods or services used outside the app, plan a checkout that accepts payment outside Apple's in-app purchase system. mada cards can be used for online payments through 3D Secure, so we set up the checkout connection to your payment system with mada card payment in mind. The payment system needs to support that flow. Digital content, features and subscriptions used inside the app have a different requirement: Apple's in-app purchase applies, although some storefronts allow links to outside payment options.
How it runs
How an iOS app development project runs with us
We work remotely over video calls, WhatsApp and a shared project board. IST is 2h30m ahead, so we use the board to keep decisions and feedback visible between conversations.
- 01
Discover
Tell us about your business, audience and goals. We agree the scope with you so the screens and build have a clear brief.
- 02
Design
We prepare screens and flows that follow Apple's guidelines. You review the designs and give feedback before the build moves on.
- 03
Test on your device
We use TestFlight to install development builds on your iPhone. Friendly customers can join as external testers after Apple reviews the first beta build.
- 04
Prepare for review
If the app has a login, we prepare a working demo account and live backend for Apple's reviewers. We also check for placeholder content, broken links and crashes.
- 05
Submit
We prepare the App Store listing, send the app for review and fix anything raised in a rejection. Your listing material gives us the content to work from.
Checklist
What to have ready before we talk
Gather these details so we can agree what the app and its release need.
- Organisation enrolmentHave your legal entity name, D-U-N-S number and public website on your own domain ready for the Apple Developer Program.
- Store identityChoose the account type carefully. An organisation account shows the company as seller; an individual account shows the person's legal name.
- Listing contentPrepare an app name, subtitle, keywords, description, support URL and screenshots for the iPhone and iPad sizes you support.
- System accessArrange test access to booking, CRM or payment systems so development builds do not touch live customer data.
- Digital salesIdentify subscriptions or premium content early, since these decide what in-app purchase work is needed.
- Privacy detailsIdentify the data your app and its third-party SDKs collect for the required App Store Connect privacy answers.
Cost & time
What affects the cost and timeline of iOS app development?
The work grows with the devices, purchase flows and systems your app needs to support.
Apple surfaces
Dedicated iPad layouts, widgets, Watch apps, Siri shortcuts and Live Activities each add work beyond the iPhone screens.
Subscriptions
In-app purchases need product setup, purchase checks, restores, upgrades and refund handling.
Backend and admin
Accounts, data and staff tools can be as substantial as the app. An existing backend with a documented API reduces that work.
Android plans
A cross-platform build supports a later Android release, while a Swift-only app needs a separate codebase for Android.
Avoid
Mistakes to avoid with iOS app development
Wrapping a website
Give the app useful functionality beyond the existing site. A site placed inside an app shell risks App Store rejection.
Asking for access too early
Explain why the app needs the camera, location, contacts or photos when that need arises. A vague prompt at first launch gives people little context for saying yes.
Treating every notification as transactional
Promotional push notifications need explicit opt-in inside the app and an in-app way to opt out. Plan those controls with the notification flow.

Page updated 5 November 2026
How much does it cost to develop an iOS app?
There is no fixed price. The main drivers include the native or cross-platform build, the accounts and systems it connects to, and extra Apple features such as widgets or Wallet passes. Each extra feature brings design, code, testing and review work. Ask us for a free quote once the scope is agreed.
Which company should I choose for iOS app development?
Choose a team that can explain its design decisions and show how the app will work for the people using it. Ask how it handles familiar navigation, larger text, Dark Mode and VoiceOver labels. Those details give you something concrete to assess in the proposed screens and flows.
What is included in an iOS app project?
A project covers the app and the decisions needed to release and maintain it. Check the scope for the backend, staff admin panel, iPad support and App Store Connect setup. Also discuss sign-in: if the main login uses Google, an equivalent privacy-preserving option is required, commonly Sign in with Apple.
Will I own the app and its code?
Yes. You own your code, content and domain, with no lock-in. When reviewing the scope, identify the accounts and systems the app uses as well as the app itself, so you know what your team will need access to when it manages the product.
What support is available after launch?
We handle new iOS version updates, bug fixes and new features after launch. Even a stable app needs rebuilding and retesting before an update ships when Apple raises its minimum Xcode and SDK requirements. App Store Connect also shows listing and crash data, which can be paired with in-app analytics.
Can customers use the app before creating an account?
Yes, where the app's features allow it. Apple asks apps without significant account-based features to let people use them without logging in. Plan what a visitor can see or do first, then introduce sign-in where the account is needed for the feature they want to use.
