Choosing
Which platform should you choose?
Shopify suits a team that wants hosting, security, checkout and platform updates handled for it. Apps add features, although their subscriptions add recurring costs, and deeper checkout changes are limited to Shopify Plus. WooCommerce is worth considering when your team already works in WordPress. We recommend a platform after learning how your products and operations work.
A custom storefront such as Next.js on a commerce back end suits an unusual catalogue, a product configurator or a brand with substantial content around its products. It takes more build effort, and most later changes need a developer. That trade-off is worth discussing before committing to a design.
You can also sell through a marketplace alongside your own store. A marketplace brings traffic but controls the rules and customer relationship; your own store keeps customer data and margin, while leaving you responsible for attracting visitors. If you use both, stock needs to stay in sync.
Local
What Jaipur businesses need from an online store
Jewellery and luxury textile businesses form part of Jaipur’s economy. If your products have choices such as size or colour, we organise those as variants with their own stock, images and prices. For made-to-order jewellery, we can also plan for choices that need previews or more detailed pricing rules.
The city’s arts and crafts makers may already take orders through social media or messaging. An online catalogue gives customers a place to browse, pay and track an order without arranging each purchase in chat. If you also have a physical shop, stock syncing with your till and click and collect are useful requirements to discuss before choosing the build.
Rules
What your store in India needs to handle
GST treatment differs between intra-state and inter-state supplies. We configure the store’s tax settings around the product and delivery decisions you provide, so the checkout reflects the applicable setup. We also configure payment gateways and shipping rates as part of the build.
E-commerce entities must display their legal name, principal geographic address, website details, customer care contact and grievance officer contact prominently. We set up space for those details on the store; you provide the correct information for your business.
How it runs

A small sample goes in first. You check its titles, variants, prices and images before the full catalogue is imported in the agreed format.
- 04
Test
You place test orders across payment methods, shipping zones, discounts and tax cases, then check the stock, emails and order records in the admin.

Cost & time
What affects the cost and timeline?
The work involved depends on what is ready and what the store needs to do.
Product data
A clean spreadsheet is quicker to import than information spread across an old store, supplier PDFs and chat threads.
Design
Adapting an existing theme takes less work than designing around unusual products or a distinct brand.
Integrations
An accounting export is smaller work than two-way stock and price syncing with an ERP or marketplaces.
Checkout and pricing rules
Gift messages, delivery date pickers or wholesale price tiers add decisions and build work.
Questions

Page updated 5 November 2026
How much does it cost to develop an ecommerce website?
There is no fixed price. The size and complexity of your catalogue affect the work, especially when products have variants, bundles or custom options. Selling into additional markets also adds currency, language, tax and shipping decisions. We send a free quote once the scope is agreed.
Can you move our existing store to a new platform?
Yes. We can migrate products, customers and order history where the platforms allow it. The move also needs a map from old product and category URLs to their closest new pages, including alternatives for products you no longer sell, so permanent redirects can be put in place.
What else is included beyond the storefront pages?
We connect the store to accounting, ERP, email and marketplace tools where those are part of your scope. Order emails also need attention: confirmations, dispatch messages with tracking links, refunds, abandoned carts and password resets should use your branding, your domain as sender and wording that matches your policies.
Which payment gateway should we use?
The choice depends on where your business is registered, the currencies you sell in and what your platform supports. We support Stripe, Razorpay, PayPal and local gateways. Compare the payment methods your customers need, along with settlement timing and the way each provider handles refunds and disputes.
Will we own the store after launch?
You own your domain, content and code, so you are not locked to the team that built the store. After launch, give each staff member a separate login with only the permissions they need, and retest the full checkout after changes to an app, plugin or theme.
