API integration services in Canada

Connect the systems your business uses with APIs, scheduled data syncs and alerts for failed transfers. We build connections for apps, partners and internal tools, and set up monitoring so your team can see when a sync needs attention. From our studio in India, we work remotely with clients in Canada, agreeing the scope with you before we build.

Choosing

Should you use a connector, an integration platform or custom code?

Check for an existing connector first. An official integration can cover a common flow without custom code, leaving less for your team to maintain. For a simple, low-volume flow that staff need to adjust, an integration platform such as Zapier or Make is another option. Custom code gives you room for complex rules, higher volumes and stricter error handling, with more work to build.

Decide how current the data needs to be. Webhooks send changes as they happen, but the receiving endpoint must be reachable and able to handle duplicate events. Scheduled batches are simpler and suit reports or overnight updates. A one-way flow is also simpler; a two-way flow needs a rule for resolving changes made to the same record in both systems.

With a few systems, direct connections can work well. As the number grows, a central integration service can keep the links easier to manage. We start by learning your business and goals, then agree the scope with you before choosing what to build.

Market

What buyers in Canada need their systems to handle

Online shops need their store, inventory, accounting and courier systems to exchange stock, invoice and tracking information without re-keying it. Service businesses need bookings and payments connected to WhatsApp or SMS reminders, so appointment confirmations do not depend on someone sending each message by hand.

Finance teams need payment gateway and bank data matched to accounting invoices, while software companies may need an API and webhooks that customers and partners can use. Payment choice belongs in the scope too: Interac offers debit payments and e-Transfer. We set up local payment gateway integrations, with the payment methods needed by the business considered when choosing the connection.

Rules

What a Canadian integration needs to handle

Customer information needs a clear path between systems. Federal private-sector privacy rules apply to personal information in commercial activity, and Alberta, British Columbia and Quebec have their own substantially similar laws. We agree which system is the source of truth for customer details and map what each connection needs to collect, use or disclose before setting up the flow.

Stripe lists Canada as a country where businesses can sign up to accept payments. We can set up the payment connection using a hosted payment page or embedded fields, keeping card data off your servers and reducing PCI DSS obligations.

How it runs

How an integration project runs with us

We work remotely over video calls, WhatsApp and shared project boards. In winter, India time is 9h ahead of Newfoundland and 12h30m ahead of British Columbia and Yukon. Shared boards give us a place to keep questions and decisions visible across the time difference.

  1. 01

    Audit

we review each system’s API documentation, plan limits, test environment and access. You help us identify the accounts and permissions available, so the scope reflects what the systems support.

  2. 02

    Map

we document the fields, rules and edge cases for each flow. The people who own the systems review and sign off the mapping before it becomes the basis for the build.

  3. 03

    Build and test

we work against sandbox accounts and test awkward cases such as refunds, partial shipments and merged customers. You can help identify the cases your staff encounter in practice.

  4. 04

    Go live

the work often starts with a backfill of historical records before switching to live sync. We watch the monitoring closely at first, with your team involved in checking the records that matter to them.

Checklist

What to have ready before we talk

A few practical details will make the first discussion more useful.

  • Accessidentify the admin access or API credentials available under a business-owned service account, plus sandbox accounts where available.
  • Recordsbring sample records and examples of awkward cases your team currently handles by hand.
  • Contactsname the owner of each system and keep vendor support contacts handy for permission or limit questions.
  • Alertsdecide who should hear about a failed sync and how quickly someone needs to act.
  • Workaroundsidentify systems without an API; exports or email can often provide another route.

Cost & time

What affects the cost and time of an integration

The work depends on the systems, the records and the rules between them.

  • Systems and direction

each system and flow adds work; a two-way sync takes more work than sending data in one direction.

  • API quality

well-documented modern APIs are quicker to work with, while legacy systems, file drops or missing APIs add work.

  • Data rules

tax, unit or currency conversion and matching records without a common ID need additional transformation logic.

  • Historical records

a large backfill needs checks that the totals match on both sides before the live flow takes over.

Avoid

Mistakes to avoid with integrations

  • Conflicting records

without a clear source of truth, an old value can overwrite a good one. Agree which system owns each field before enabling a two-way sync.

  • Repeated events

webhooks can arrive twice or out of order. Log processed event IDs and avoid relying on delivery order.

  • Personal credentials

a connection tied to an employee’s login can stop when they leave. Use a service account owned by your business.

  • Silent failures

missing orders or invoices can go unnoticed when a sync fails without an alert. Assign someone to receive and act on failure alerts.

Questions

Page updated 5 November 2026

How much does an API integration cost?

There is no fixed price. The effort depends on how often data needs to move and on the API’s request limits and handling of long lists. A sync that fetches pages of records needs to pace its requests and resume cleanly. We agree the scope with you before the work begins.

What can you include in an integration?

We build REST and webhook APIs for your apps, partners and internal tools, and connect third-party systems such as CRM, ERP, accounting, email and marketplaces. The useful starting point is the particular flow you need: for example, which records should move between an internal tool and a partner’s system.

Can partners use an API you build for us?

Yes. We provide API documentation and test credentials for your partners. That gives them a way to understand and test the connection as they build against it. Tell us which partners need access when we agree the scope, so their use of the API is part of the work.

Can you connect WhatsApp reminders?

Yes. We integrate the WhatsApp Business API, along with SMS and email notifications. WhatsApp free-form messages are limited to a 24-hour window after the customer’s last message or call; outside that window, businesses must use template messages. That rule affects how we set up a reminder flow.

What happens if a sync fails after launch?

We add logging, retries and alerts so a failure is flagged and handled. Monitoring continues after launch through a view of sync counts and failures, with a named person responsible for acting on alerts. Integrations also need periodic checks because vendors change APIs, add required fields and retire old versions.

Who owns the integration code?

You own your code, content and domain, with no lock-in. That gives your business ownership of the code produced for the integration as well as the other assets covered by the project. Discuss the handover with us when agreeing the scope, particularly if your own team will maintain the connection.
