Choosing
Should you start with a menu bot or an AI agent?
Start with the questions you receive. A menu-and-button bot fits a small set of predictable requests: people choose from the available options, and your team can check the paths easily. Its limit is equally clear. Someone whose question falls outside the menu may struggle to get help, so list those exceptions before deciding that buttons are enough.
An agent that answers from documents suits questions that vary when the answers already exist in writing. Your FAQs, policies and manuals become working sources that need an owner and regular updates. An answer-only agent is a lower-risk starting point than one that changes records or handles payments, because actions need tighter permissions, confirmation steps and additional testing.
The audience changes the design too. A public assistant needs limits on the topics it handles and the tone of its replies. An internal assistant needs permission checks so an employee cannot retrieve a document they are not allowed to see. Decide which audience and tasks you want to cover first; that gives the build a clearer boundary.
Market
What buyers in Singapore expect from an assistant
Your customers will expect help with the task they came to complete. For an online store, that may mean an order-status answer from the order system, with a refund request or complaint passed to staff. For a clinic or salon, it may mean answering common questions and booking, moving or cancelling an appointment outside opening hours.
A software company has a different support queue: its assistant can answer from help articles and open a ticket with the details when it cannot resolve the issue. English is the main language of commercial affairs, so agree the English source content and the replies your team wants reviewed as part of the initial scope.
Rules
What your project in Singapore needs to handle
Singapore’s official languages are English, Mandarin Chinese, Malay and Tamil. Decide which languages your assistant needs to support and which approved content it should use for each. We set limits so it says when an answer is missing, and we test it against real questions. Give your reviewers questions and expected answers in the selected languages, including requests that should reach a person, so they can check the replies before customers use them.
How it runs
How an AI agents & chatbots project runs with us
We work remotely over video calls, WhatsApp and a shared project board. IST is 2h30m behind Singapore; the board keeps questions and feedback visible across the difference.
- 01
Discover
You share a sample of real conversations and name an owner for each topic. We use those questions to agree what the assistant should cover, rather than starting from a hypothetical list.
- 02
Build
We connect the approved sources and write the assistant’s instructions and limits. You review draft answers for accuracy and tone before anyone outside your team sees them.
- 03
Test
We use a fixed set of real questions with agreed correct answers. Your staff mark replies that are wrong, incomplete or risky; each fix is checked again against the full set.
- 04
Launch
We begin with a contained release, such as staff only, a single channel or a single topic. You can observe how the assistant behaves in use before coverage widens as quality holds.
Checklist
What to have ready before we talk
Bring the material your staff already use, along with the decisions that set boundaries for the assistant.
- Real questionsGather common enquiries and the answers staff give today from emails, chats and call notes.
- Approved sourcesList the FAQs, policies, price lists or manuals it may use, with an owner for each.
- Excluded topicsName requests it must not handle, such as billing disputes, and agree what it should say instead.
- Handover routeIdentify who receives escalations, their available hours and the message customers see when nobody is available.
- Data rulesSet out what can go to an outside AI provider, how long logs may be kept and who can read them.
Cost & time
What affects the cost and timeline of AI agents & chatbots
The scope of the assistant and the condition of your existing material determine much of the work.
Source documents
Scattered, outdated or scanned material takes more preparation than a current, organised knowledge base.
Connected systems
Each connection needs work; a documented API is a different proposition from a system that needs a workaround.
Actions
An assistant that changes records needs permission design, confirmation steps and test cases in addition to its answers.
Usage
Conversation volume and model choice affect ongoing provider charges, which are separate from the build.
Avoid
Mistakes to avoid with AI agents & chatbots
No evaluation set
Keep a fixed list of questions and expected answers so you can tell what changed after an update.
An unsettled process
Agree how staff handle bookings or refunds before automating them, so the assistant does not repeat conflicting instructions.
A hidden route to staff
Give customers a clear way to reach a person instead of leaving them in a bot loop.
Broad system access
Limit each tool to the actions, records, amounts and frequency it needs, and log every action taken.
Questions
Asked by businesses in Singapore
Page updated 5 November 2026
What companies develop AI chatbots for businesses?
We develop assistants for customer-facing channels and internal teams. An agent can use your approved documents to answer a message, take an action in a connected system or pass the conversation to a person. When comparing suppliers, ask them to explain those boundaries for your actual enquiries and show how the handover would work.
How much does an AI agent cost?
There is no fixed price. A hosted platform and a custom build involve different amounts of development and maintenance. The channels you choose and the permissions and checks needed for connected tools also affect the scope. Once we have agreed that scope, we can discuss a quote for the work.
Can we combine buttons with AI answers?
Yes. A hybrid assistant uses buttons for structured tasks such as booking or order status, and AI for questions written in free text. A person sits behind both routes. This is useful for a support desk that receives routine requests alongside unusual questions that do not fit a fixed menu.
What does the service include for our team?
We build internal knowledge assistants that let staff ask questions across policies, manuals and documents. We also set clear rules for passing a conversation to your team. Agree the points where the assistant must stop, such as a complaint or a direct request for a person, and what context the staff member receives.
How do you handle the data sent to an AI provider?
We use AI providers that do not train on your data and limit the assistant’s access to what it needs. The design also sets out what customer data reaches the provider, how long conversation logs are kept and who may read them. Bring your internal data rules into that decision before sources are connected.
What happens after the assistant goes live?
We provide usage insights showing what people ask, what gets resolved and where there is room to improve. Review a sample of conversations, especially handovers and unanswered questions, to find gaps in the content. After a prompt, document or model change, rerun the evaluation set to check that an improvement has not broken another answer.
