What it does

Google Business Profile posts are short updates that appear on your profile in Search and Maps. There are three main kinds: updates for general news, offers for deals, and events for things happening on a date. This generator turns a few inputs into a ready-to-paste post: an opening line, bullet points, dates and a closing line that matches the button you choose. Pick a starter from the post ideas list if you are stuck. It checks the result against the editor's length limits, flags the fields each post type needs, and warns about phone numbers in the text, which Google may reject.

How to use it

  1. Choose the post type: update, offer or event.
  2. Pick a starter from "Start from an idea", or write your own opening line.
  3. Replace anything in [brackets] with your own details, one point per line.
  4. For an offer or event, add a title and the dates. Offers also need start and end times.
  5. Choose a button and paste the link it should open.
  6. Copy the description text into the post editor, and use the full brief to fill in the other fields.

How to read the result

The tool opens with an update for an example dental clinic: one opening line about a new same-day whitening service, three bullet points and "Book a time with the button below." The Description stat reads 196 of 1,500 characters and the Checks stat shows "Ready to post". The preview shows the post roughly as it will appear, with a Book button.

Switch to Offer and the dates fill in for the next seven days, but the Checks stat turns red: offers need a title, and Google's help says they need times as well as dates. An amber note also reminds you that hotels cannot create offer posts. Add a title and times, and the description gains a "Valid … to …" line, plus the coupon code if you set one.

Red "Fix" items will stop the post or break it. Amber "Check" items are advice. If you type a phone number into the text, an amber note suggests the Call now button instead.

The full brief lists every field in order: type, title, dates, coupon, terms, button and description. Hand it to whoever posts for you, or keep it as a record. Add a photo in the editor; it is uploaded separately from the text.

Questions

Frequently asked.

How long can a Google Business Profile post be?

Google's help pages do not publish a number. Guides that test the post editor consistently report 1,500 characters for the description and 58 for an offer or event title, so this tool checks against those. Shorter is usually better, because most people read posts on a phone and skim.

Can I put a phone number in a post?

You can, but Google's help says posts with a phone number in the description might be rejected if the number cannot be verified as connected to the business. The safer route is the Call now button, which uses the number already verified on your profile.

How long do posts stay up?

Google's help says posts older than six months are archived unless a date range is set. Offers and events carry their own dates. Many businesses post every week or two so the profile always shows something recent.
