What you get

What’s included in website redesign

  • Site audit

A review of content, structure, speed and search performance before anything changes.

  • Fresh design

A modern look built on your brand and designed mobile-first.

  • Platform migration

WordPress, Wix, Webflow or legacy sites moved to Next.js or a clean WordPress build.

  • Content transfer

Pages, posts, media and metadata carried across and tidied up.

  • Redirect mapping

Every old URL mapped to its new home, so links and rankings carry over.

  • Post-launch checks

Search Console and analytics reviewed after launch to catch issues early.

Tools we use: Next.js, WordPress, Webflow, Wix, Google Search Console.

Choosing

Should you refresh the site or rebuild it?

Keep the existing platform if the site structure and content still serve the business and the main problem is its appearance. A visual refresh keeps the addresses people already use and carries less search risk than a rebuild. Keeping URLs also avoids much of the work involved in redirecting visitors. Change them where the current paths are confusing or contain dates, IDs and duplicates.

A full rebuild fits when the content no longer reflects what you do. You can reorganise the site around your current services, but changed URLs need a complete redirect plan. A platform move also suits a site held back by speed, plugins or editing limits. It gives you a clean WordPress setup or a custom build, with more migration work than a visual refresh.

Before choosing, we learn about your business, audience and goals and agree the scope with you. That gives the design work a clear brief: which parts of the existing site should stay useful, and which need to change for your team and customers.

Rules

What a United States redesign needs to handle

For a business open to the public, web accessibility needs consideration as part of the design. US Department of Justice guidance says ADA Title III covers goods and services offered on the web and identifies WCAG as helpful guidance. We set up page templates with that guidance in mind, so accessibility is considered across the site rather than left to individual pages.

State and local government organisations have a specific requirement for websites to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA. If you manage one of those sites, we set up the redesign against that standard and make it part of the page-template and build decisions.

How it runs

How a website redesign project runs with us

India is 10h30m ahead of Eastern time and 13h30m ahead of Pacific time in winter; the difference is 1 hour less during daylight saving time. We keep work moving across that gap by agreeing decisions with you and recording the work that needs your feedback.

  1. 01

    Audit and sitemap

We establish which pages should survive before designing templates. You help us identify the content that still represents your services and the pages that need a new place in the site.

  2. 02

    Design

We create a fresh look based on your brand, designed mobile-first. You review how the pages present your business before the design moves into the build.

  3. 03

    Preview

We build on a private link while your current site remains live. You review the new site and approve it before we switch over.

  4. 04

    Launch

We point the domain, apply redirects and submit the new sitemap in Search Console. We then test forms, tracking and a sample of old URLs.

  5. 05

    After launch

We review Search Console and analytics to catch issues early. Your team can flag anything it notices while using the new site.

Checklist

What to have ready before we talk

Gather what you have, so the scope reflects the site you use today.

  • Search Console and analytics access, with as much history as possible, to identify pages bringing visitors.
  • Page addresses used on brochures, packaging, QR codes, campaigns and email signatures.
  • A list of connected tools, including CRM forms, booking widgets, payment links, chat, newsletter sign-ups and tracking pixels, with access to each account.
  • A decision on content that can be retired, such as discontinued services, outdated news and former staff profiles.

Cost & time

What affects the cost and timeline of website redesign

The scope of the move determines how much design, content and checking work the project needs.

  • Existing URLs

A site with an extensive archive of posts, news or product pages needs more pages reviewed for migration and redirects.

  • Content changes

Moving pages as they are takes less work than rewriting, merging and reorganising them into a new structure.

  • Platform

A new design on the current platform takes less work than moving between systems that store content differently.

  • Languages and regions

Each version adds URLs, redirects and checks to the move, so list the versions you need before setting the scope.

Avoid

Mistakes to avoid with website redesign

  • Sending old URLs to the home page

Without redirects, old links can return errors. Map each address to its relevant new equivalent instead of sending unrelated pages to the same destination.

  • Using temporary redirects for a permanent move

Use permanent redirects for changed URLs and keep them in place for as long as possible.

  • Leaving preview settings in place

Check that the live site is not blocked by a noindex setting and that the staging copy is not open to search engines.

  • Losing tracking

Move analytics, ad conversion tags and call tracking into the new templates so you retain the data used to assess the redesign.

Questions

Asked by businesses in United States

Page updated 5 November 2026

How much does a website redesign cost?

There is no fixed price. The platform move, the condition of the source content and the work needed to carry across connected assets all affect the scope. Pages made with a page builder, embedded shortcodes or hand-formatted posts need extra care; images, PDFs, form connections and email DNS records need checking too.

Can we keep the content from our current website?

Yes. We carry pages, posts, media and metadata across and tidy them up as part of the move. We also suggest where content could be shortened or improved. An inventory helps you decide which old pages to keep, rewrite, merge or delete before those decisions become the sitemap and redirect plan.

What happens to our search visibility during a redesign?

We plan the move around the pages that already bring visitors. Page titles, descriptions, headings and structured data on ranking pages should be carried over or improved deliberately. After launch, compare enquiries, traffic and rankings for key pages with the period before the move; fluctuations are normal while Google processes it.

Will we own the new site and be able to edit it?

You own your domain, content and code, with no lock-in. If your staff struggle to edit the current site, a rebuild can be planned around a simpler editor with structured fields for the content they change most. Tell us which updates your team needs to make when we agree the scope.

Can we redesign a large site in phases?

Yes. A phased redesign can start with the pages bringing the most enquiries, which suits a large site where a single switchover would be risky. The trade-off is that you run the old and new designs side by side for a while. The audit helps identify which existing URLs bring traffic and links.

What should we check after the new site launches?

Watch Search Console for crawl errors and old URLs returning errors, then add missing redirects as they appear. Update links you control as well, including your Google Business Profile, social profiles, directory listings and email signatures. Visitors following those links can then go directly to the new address.
