What you get

What’s included in website redesign

  • Site audit

A review of content, structure, speed and search performance before anything changes.

  • Fresh design

A modern look built on your brand and designed mobile-first.

  • Platform migration

WordPress, Wix, Webflow or legacy sites moved to Next.js or a clean WordPress build.

  • Content transfer

Pages, posts, media and metadata carried across and tidied up.

  • Redirect mapping

Every old URL mapped to its new home, so links and rankings carry over.

  • Post-launch checks

Search Console and analytics reviewed after launch to catch issues early.

Tools we use: Next.js, WordPress, Webflow, Wix, Google Search Console.

Choosing

Should you refresh or rebuild your website?

Start with the decision about what needs to change: the look, the structure or the platform. Keeping the scope focused reduces unnecessary work and limits search risk. We help you weigh those choices against the condition of your current site and the changes you want to make.

A visual refresh on your existing platform suits a site whose content and structure still work. It keeps the existing URLs and carries less search risk than a rebuild. If the content no longer reflects your business, a rebuild with a new structure gives you more room to reorganise it, but needs a complete redirect plan when addresses change.

Keep existing URLs where they still make sense. Changing confusing addresses, or those full of dates, IDs and duplicate paths, can make the structure clearer, though it adds redirect work. For a large site, a phased redesign can start with the pages bringing in most enquiries; the trade-off is maintaining the old and new designs side by side while the work progresses.

Market

What buyers in the United Kingdom need from a redesign

An established company may need its website to reflect its current services, size and clients while retaining the search traffic its existing pages have earned. An organisation whose site has grown page by page may need a clearer menu, duplicate content merged and a plan for the addresses that change.

A business dealing with a slow site overloaded with plugins or page builders may need a move to clean code, with its content carried across intact. After a merger, rebrand or name change, the work can also include applying the new identity throughout the site and handling a domain change carefully.

Rules

What your United Kingdom redesign needs to handle

If you run a UK limited company, your site must show its registered number, registered office address, place of registration and limited-company status. We include space for those details in the new site so you can provide them accurately.

Cookies used solely for statistics or to adapt the site's appearance to user preferences can be used without consent when visitors receive clear information and an easy way to object. Where you use those cookies, we set up the information and an objection control as part of the build.

Service providers must make reasonable adjustments so disabled people can access their websites. We plan accessibility adjustments into the page and form designs, including keyboard access where needed.

How it runs

How a website redesign project runs with us

We are MSH Technologies, a studio in India working with you remotely. India time is 5h30m ahead of UK time, or 4h30m during British Summer Time. Video calls, WhatsApp and a shared project board keep decisions and feedback moving across that difference.

  1. 01

    Agree the sitemap

We work out which pages survive before design starts. You review the proposed structure so we do not design templates for content that will be removed.

  2. 02

    Protect search details

We carry over or deliberately improve titles, descriptions, headings and structured data on pages that already rank. You can review where the wording needs to reflect your current services.

  3. 03

    Review the preview

We build on a private link while your existing site stays live. You review the work and approve the switch before the new site replaces it.

  4. 04

    Switch over and check

We point the domain, apply redirects and submit the sitemap in Search Console, then test forms, tracking and a sample of old addresses. After launch, we review Search Console and analytics for issues.

Checklist

What to have ready before we talk

Bring what you have available so we can understand the existing site and the work it needs.

  • Search Console and analytics access, with as much history as possible.
  • A list of what works and what frustrates staff or customers, such as missing enquiries or hard-to-edit pages.
  • Page addresses used on brochures, packaging, QR codes, adverts or email signatures.
  • A list of connected tools, including CRM forms, booking widgets and newsletter sign-ups, with account access.
  • A decision on content that can be retired, such as discontinued services or outdated staff profiles.

Cost & time

What affects the cost and timeline of website redesign

The work involved depends on what needs to move, change and be checked across your existing site.

  • Page addresses

A large collection of blog posts, news or product pages adds URLs to migrate and redirect.

  • Content clean-up

Moving content as it stands involves less work than rewriting, merging and reorganising it.

  • Source content

Page builders, embedded shortcodes and hand-formatted posts take extra effort to move cleanly.

  • Existing features

Member areas, booking systems, calculators and complex forms may need to be rebuilt.

  • Language and regional versions

Each version adds URLs, redirects and checks to the migration work.

Avoid

Mistakes to avoid with website redesign

  • Sending every old address to the home page

Map each old URL to its relevant new equivalent so visitors reach the content they expected.

  • Leaving search settings unchecked

Remove the development site's noindex setting for launch and keep the staging copy out of search results.

  • Forgetting measurement

Move analytics, ad conversion tags and call tracking to the new templates so you retain the data used to assess the redesign.

  • Removing redirects to tidy up

Keep them in place for as long as possible, following Google's recommendation.

Questions

Asked by businesses in United Kingdom

Page updated 5 November 2026

How much does a website redesign cost?

There is no fixed price for every redesign. The work grows when images, PDFs, form connections and email-related DNS records need checking, or when a domain change adds another migration. Ask us for a quote once the scope is agreed; the details of the existing site shape the work involved.

Will a redesign affect our Google rankings?

A site move needs planning to protect existing search visibility; rankings cannot be promised. We map old URLs to their new homes and use permanent redirects for permanent moves. After launch, we watch Search Console for crawl and 404 errors on old addresses and add missing redirects as they appear.

Can we keep our existing content?

Yes. We can move your content across and suggest where it could be shortened or improved. A content inventory gives you a practical way to decide what to keep, rewrite, merge or delete; those decisions then inform the new sitemap and the redirect plan.

Will we own the redesigned website?

Yes. You own your domain, content and code, with no lock-in. That gives you control over the core assets of the site after the work is complete, including the content you have supplied and the code used for your redesigned website.

What should we check after launch?

Compare enquiries, traffic and rankings for key pages with the period before launch. Ranking fluctuations are normal while Google processes a site move. You should also update links you control, including your Google Business Profile, social profiles, directory listings and email signatures, so visitors reach the new addresses directly.

Can you move our site to a different platform?

Yes. We move WordPress, Wix, Webflow and legacy sites to Next.js or a clean WordPress build. Decide which changes are needed before combining a platform move with new URLs and entirely new copy: changing everything at once makes it harder to identify the cause if traffic falls.
