Choosing
Should you choose WordPress or a custom website?
WordPress suits a team that publishes often and wants to edit most of the site itself. Its choice of plugins gives you room to add functions, although someone needs to keep the installation updated for security. A custom-coded site in Next.js suits a design that needs to move beyond template limits, with fast pages and tight security. Plan for a developer to handle structural changes.
A hosted builder such as Wix, Squarespace or Webflow suits a small site you want to run alone. You have less control over code and speed, and moving away later can mean rebuilding. Your choice should follow your editing needs: decide who will make changes and how often before settling on a platform.
There is room between those choices. A custom Next.js site can still have an editor, while WordPress is useful when your team expects to change a lot of content. We recommend an approach after understanding how your team works and what it needs to maintain.
Local
What Worthing organisations need from their websites
The local service industry includes financial services. A service website needs an enquiry route that is clear to the visitor and useful to the people receiving it: agree who handles a request, what the confirmation says and whether a mobile visitor should see a call or WhatsApp button.
Local employers include electronics and medical products businesses. For a manufacturer or supplier, capability and product pages, certifications and downloadable specifications help a prospective customer assess the offer. A quote form should ask for enough detail for the team to respond properly.
Northbrook College also has a local campus. An organisation with information to keep current needs a page structure and content editor with clear owners, so the people responsible for the site know who will maintain each part after launch.
Rules
What a UK website needs to handle
If you run a UK limited company, your website must show its registered number, registered office address, place of registration and limited company status. We make space for those details in the site structure and add the information you provide.
Accessibility needs a decision in the brief. Organisations providing services through a website must make reasonable adjustments for disabled people. We agree an accessibility target with you and use it to guide the page designs; WCAG provides levels A, AA and AAA, with the latest version encouraged.
How it runs
How a website project runs with us
We work remotely through video calls, WhatsApp and shared project boards, so feedback and decisions have a place to stay visible between conversations. India is 5h30m ahead of the UK, or 4h30m during British Summer Time, from the last Sunday in March to the last Sunday in October.
- 01
Discover
Tell us who buys from you, why they choose you and what visitors should do on the site. We use that discussion to agree the scope and shape the sitemap.
- 02
Plan the pages
We put wireframes before visual design. Your feedback at this stage should focus on the content and its order; colours can wait until the page priorities are settled.
- 03
Build
We develop in Next.js or use WordPress when your team needs full editing control. An editor gives your team a way to manage pages, news, projects and careers.
- 04
Check
Before launch, proofread each page, submit every form once and confirm who receives the messages. Those checks give you a chance to catch small errors before visitors see them.
- 05
Launch
We set up your domain, email, analytics and Search Console, then walk your team through the site.
Checklist
What to have ready before we talk
Gather what you have and note anything still missing.
- Your goalDecide whether you want quote requests, calls or job applications, and who handles each enquiry.
- Brand filesBring a vector logo, colours and fonts, or note what still needs creating.
- PhotosCollect images of your team, premises and finished work.
- Proof of workPut case studies, permitted client logos, testimonials and certifications in a folder.
- AccessFind the relevant account logins or identify who holds them.
- ExamplesBring sites you like and dislike, with a short reason for each.
Cost & time
What affects the cost and timing
The scope determines the design, build and checking work involved.
Features
Booking, calculators, member logins, several languages or a CRM connection add design, development and testing work.
Content
Copy and photos ready to publish keep the work smaller; adding copywriting, photography or translation expands it.
Brand readiness
An existing logo and style guide need less design work than brand elements still being decided.
Search setup
Page titles, descriptions, headings, an XML sitemap and structured data take less effort to plan during the build than to fix later.

Questions
Asked by businesses in Worthing
Page updated 5 November 2026
How much does it cost to have a website built?
There is no fixed price. The amount of content moving from an old site, a design made for your specific needs and a separate content editor with a custom front end all affect the work. Once we agree the scope, we’ll send you a free quote.
Is a website still worth investing in?
It can be worthwhile when it supports a clear business goal and you check what happens after launch. Track form submissions, calls and WhatsApp clicks in analytics, then look at the pages those enquiries started from. Keep service pages clear and manageable so your team can keep them current.
Can you work with our existing brand?
Yes. We can build on your existing logo, colours and fonts and prepare brand assets for the web where needed. Bring real headings and paragraphs into the design early: their length affects the layout, and placeholder text can make a page look finished before the real content fits.
Will we own the website?
Yes. You own the domain, content and code, with no lock-in. Keep the domain and hosting accounts in your business’s name and grant access to the people working on the site. That keeps control of the accounts with you when the project is handed over.
What happens after the website launches?
We provide ongoing support after launch. During the build, we also test the site on real devices and browsers. On your side, decide who will update news, projects and job posts: an old latest post can leave visitors wondering whether the business is still trading.
