Choosing
Should you choose WordPress, custom code or a website builder?
Start with the editing. WordPress suits a team that publishes often and wants to change most of the site itself; its plugins give you a wide choice of features, but someone must keep them updated for security. A custom-coded site in Next.js suits a design that needs freedom from template limits, with fast pages and tight security. It is a useful fit when you are happy to have a developer handle structural changes.
A hosted builder such as Wix, Squarespace or Webflow suits a small site that its owner wants to run alone. You trade some control over code and speed for that independence, and a later move away from the platform can mean rebuilding. We recommend WordPress or a custom Next.js site after learning how your team works. A custom site can still have an editor, so choosing code does not mean asking a developer to make every content change.
Local
What Vancouver organisations need from a website
Vancouver's economy has shifted towards high-tech and service work. For a consulting or accounting practice, that points to service and partner pages where a prospective client can check expertise before making contact. A product startup needs a plain explanation of what it offers, alongside a way to book a demo or join a waitlist.
The city's higher-education institutions include Clark College, Gateway Seminary and Washington State University, Vancouver. An institution commissioning a site needs an agreed page structure and clear ownership of the content and launch work. Enquiry routes also need decisions: who receives each message, what the confirmation says and where a visitor can call or use WhatsApp.
Rules
What a US website project has to handle
Accessibility belongs in the brief. US Department of Justice guidance says the ADA covers the web-based goods and services of businesses open to the public and identifies WCAG as helpful guidance. We agree an accessibility target with you before design, using the latest WCAG version as guidance, and set up a clear heading structure as part of the page build. The target gives the design work a basis for review.
How it runs
How a website project runs with us
We work remotely from India using video calls, WhatsApp and shared project boards. India is 13h30m ahead of Pacific time in winter and one hour less during daylight saving time. The shared board keeps decisions and feedback available across that difference.
- 01
Discover
Tell us who buys from you, why they choose you and what you want visitors to do. Those answers guide the sitemap.
- 02
Agree scope
We learn about your business, audience and goals, then agree the work with you before moving into design.
- 03
Plan pages
We use wireframes to settle page content and its order. Review the priorities at this stage; colours come later.
- 04
Build and test
We build in code or with an editable CMS, then test on real devices and browsers. You proofread every page, submit each form and confirm who receives it.
- 05
Launch and care
We set up the domain, email, analytics and search, then provide ongoing support after launch.

What to have ready before we talk

Cost & time
What affects the cost and time of a website project
The scope determines the design, build and checking work involved.
Page templates
Distinct layouts take more design and build work than pages that share a template.
Features
Booking, calculators, member logins, additional languages or a CRM connection add design and testing work.
Existing content
Blog posts, news archives and downloadable files need migration and checking if they are moving to the new site.
Brand readiness
An existing logo and style guide reduce design work compared with deciding the logo, colours and typefaces during the project.

Questions
Asked by businesses in Vancouver
Page updated 5 November 2026
How much does it cost to have a website built?
There is no fixed price. The choice between an adapted template and a custom design affects the work, as does gathering and preparing your content. Decide early who will write service descriptions and provide case studies and photos; those tasks often take longer than approving the design.
How should we choose a platform for our site?
Choose it around who will update the site and how often. A headless setup pairs a custom front end with a separate content editor, which suits a site needing speed and frequent editing. It also introduces more moving parts to host and maintain, so that ongoing work belongs in the decision.
Can you design the site around our existing brand?
Yes. We work with your logo, colours and fonts and prepare brand assets for the web where needed. The design work includes a sitemap, wireframes and desktop and mobile page designs, refined with your feedback. We also provide an editor your team can use for pages, news, projects and careers.
Will we own the website after launch?
Yes. You own the domain, content and code. At handover, we set up Search Console as well as the domain, email and analytics, and give your team a walkthrough. That gives you an opportunity to see the launch setup and ask about using it before taking the site forward.
What should we check after the website launches?
Check the enquiries the site produces and keep its content current. You can track form submissions, calls and WhatsApp clicks as conversions in analytics, then review which pages they started from. Assign someone to update news, projects and job posts so those sections continue to reflect your organisation.
