Choosing
Should you choose WordPress or a custom website?
WordPress suits a team that publishes often and wants to edit most of its own site. Its choice of plugins gives you options for adding features, though someone needs to keep those plugins and the site updated for security. A custom Next.js site is faster and more secure, and it can still include an editor for your content.
A hosted builder such as Wix, Squarespace or Webflow can suit a small site that you want to run alone. You give up some control over code and speed, and moving away from the platform later can mean rebuilding the site. Check how much control you need before choosing the editor that feels easiest.
The design is a separate decision. A custom design fits a particular brand, audience or set of content. An adapted template can work for a simple site with a tight brief, provided the layout is reworked around your real content. We recommend WordPress or Next.js after learning how your team works.
Local
What Torrance organisations need from a website
Honda and Acura have their US headquarters in Torrance. For vehicle manufacturers and their suppliers, useful website content includes capability or product pages, certifications and downloadable specifications. A quote form should ask for enough detail for the recipient to respond properly.
King's Hawaiian has its main bakery facility in the city. A bakery handling enquiries through its website needs a clear decision about where each form sends messages, who receives them and what the confirmation says. Mobile contact options deserve the same attention.
Part of El Camino College's campus is in Torrance. For an organisation with different kinds of information to publish, the page structure and content editor need owners from the start, so the people responsible for the site can keep its pages current.
Rules
What a US website project has to handle
For a business open to the public, US guidance says the ADA covers goods and services offered on the web and points to WCAG as helpful guidance. We agree an accessibility target in your brief and set up a clear heading structure in the page designs. That gives your team a target to review alongside the pages.
If your site sends commercial email, we include a physical postal address and a clear opt-out in the email templates. Your team also needs a way to honour opt-out requests.
How it runs
How a website project runs with us
We work remotely over video calls, WhatsApp and shared project boards. India is 13h30m ahead of Pacific time in winter and 1 hour less during daylight saving time. We use the shared board to keep decisions and feedback visible between calls.
- 01
Discover
You explain who buys from you, why they choose you and what visitors should do on the site. We learn your goals and agree the scope together.
- 02
Design
We prepare the sitemap, wireframes and page designs for desktop and mobile. You review them and give feedback before the designs are refined.
- 03
Build
We develop the site in clean code or a CMS your team can edit, then test it on real devices and browsers.
- 04
Check
You proofread each page, submit each form and confirm who receives the messages. This catches the small errors visitors can notice.
- 05
Launch
We set up the domain, email, analytics and Search Console, then walk your team through the handover.
Checklist
What to have ready before we talk
Bring these details to shape the brief and make decisions about the site.
- Your logo files, colours and fonts, or a note that they still need creating.
- A ranked list of the services or products you most want to feature.
- Websites you like and dislike, with a short reason for each choice.
- Access details for your domain, hosting, email, analytics and Search Console, or the name of the person who holds them.
- Real photos of your team, premises and finished work.
- The action you want visitors to take and who handles each kind of enquiry.
Cost & time
What affects the cost and timing of your website
The scope and readiness of your content shape the work involved.
Page templates
Distinct layouts need their own design and build work; pages that share a template take less effort.
Content preparation
Copy and photos ready to publish keep the scope smaller; copywriting, photography or translation add work.
Real text
Designing with placeholder copy can lead to layout changes when the finished headings and paragraphs are added.
Search setup
Page titles, a sitemap and indexing checks need attention during the build; leaving them until launch creates fixes to deal with later.

Questions
Asked by businesses in Torrance
Page updated 5 November 2026
How much does it cost to have a website built?
There is no fixed price. Features such as booking, calculators or a CRM connection add design and testing work, while moving an archive of posts or downloadable files adds migration and checking. We agree the scope with you so those requirements are clear before the build.
Can you use our existing brand?
Yes. We build on your existing logo, colours and fonts, and prepare brand assets for the web where needed. Bring the materials you already use and tell us which parts need preparing for the site; they give the page designs a consistent starting point.
Will my team be able to edit the website?
Yes. We provide an editor your team can use without training for pages, news, projects and careers. Before launch, decide who will take responsibility for those updates, particularly job posts and news, so visitors do not encounter information your team has left unattended.
Will I own the website?
Yes. You own the domain, content and code, with no lock-in. Keep the domain and hosting accounts in your business's name and grant access to the people working on the site. That way, your business holds the accounts it needs to manage its own website.
What happens after the website launches?
We provide ongoing support after launch. You can also use analytics to track form submissions, calls and WhatsApp clicks as conversions and check which pages visitors started from. Those details give you a practical way to review enquiries and decide which pages need attention.
