Choosing
Should you choose WordPress or a custom website?
WordPress suits a team that changes content frequently and wants control over much of the site. A custom Next.js site offers faster pages and tighter security, and can still include an editor. Your choice starts with who will make changes and how often, rather than a preference for a platform name.
A custom-coded site also gives you room to design without template limits, although structural changes are typically handled by a developer. An adapted template can fit a straightforward brief if it is reworked around your actual content. A custom design makes sense when your brand or audience needs a more specific approach.
There is also a headless setup: a custom front end paired with a separate content editor. It suits a site that needs both speed and extensive editing, but adds moving parts to hosting and maintenance. We recommend WordPress or Next.js after understanding how your team works.
Local
What Telford organisations need from a website
Telford has industrial estates including Halesfield, Stafford Park and Hortonwood. If you supply other businesses, your website needs to make your capabilities clear before a buyer contacts you. Product or capability pages, certifications and downloadable specifications give them useful detail; a quote form should ask enough about the requirement for your team to respond.
Telford has also attracted high-technology firms. If your company is introducing a product, give visitors a plain explanation of what it does and a clear way to book a demo or join a waitlist. That gives the site a practical next step for someone assessing the product.
Rules
What your UK website needs to handle
If you run a UK limited company, your website must show its registered number, registered office address, place of registration and limited company status. We set up space for those details on the site, so have the information ready for the build.
Website service providers must make reasonable adjustments for disabled people under the Equality Act 2010. We agree an accessibility target in the brief and use it to guide the page designs and build. WCAG offers A, AA and AAA levels; the W3C encourages using its latest version.
How it runs
How a website project runs with us
We work remotely over video calls, WhatsApp and shared project boards. IST is 5h30m ahead of UK time, or 4h30m during British Summer Time, from the last Sunday in March to the last Sunday in October. Shared boards keep decisions and feedback visible across the difference.
- 01
Discover
Tell us who buys from you, why they choose you and what you want visitors to do. We agree the scope around your business, audience and goals.
- 02
Plan
We prepare wireframes before visual design. Review the page content and its order at this stage; colours come later.
- 03
Design
We create desktop and mobile page designs and refine them with your feedback before code begins.
- 04
Build
We develop the site or an editable CMS and test it on real devices and browsers. Review the pages on a phone as well as a desktop.
- 05
Launch
Proofread each page, submit each form and confirm who receives the messages. We set up the domain, email, analytics and Search Console, then walk your team through the site.
Checklist
What to have ready before we talk
Gather these details to make the brief easier to agree.
- Your logo in SVG, AI or EPS, plus your brand colours and fonts.
- A list of services or products, ordered by their importance to your business.
- Sites you like and dislike, with a short reason for each choice.
- Login details for your domain, hosting, email, analytics and Search Console, or the name of the person who holds them.
- A folder of case studies, permitted client logos, testimonials, certifications and memberships.
Cost & time
What affects the cost and time involved
The scope determines the design, build and checking work.
Page templates
Distinct layouts take more design and development work than pages sharing a template.
Features
Booking, calculators, member logins, multiple languages and CRM connections add design, build and testing work.
Content readiness
Copy and photos ready to publish keep the scope smaller; writing, photography or translation add work.
Migration
Moving blog posts, news archives and downloadable files from an old site adds transfer and checking work.

Questions
Asked by businesses in Telford
Page updated 5 November 2026
How much does it cost to get a website built?
There is no fixed price: the scope determines the quote. Page design, an editor for your team and the work involved in gathering service descriptions, case studies and photos all affect what needs to be done. Once the scope is agreed, ask us for a quote.
Is website development still worth it?
A website gives you a place to explain your services and direct visitors towards an enquiry. Build search preparation into the work: page titles, descriptions, heading structure, an XML sitemap and structured data take less effort to address during the build than as later fixes.
What does WordPress need after launch?
WordPress needs regular updates to stay secure. It suits teams that publish often and want to edit most of their site themselves, with plugins available for additional functions. Before choosing it, decide who will take responsibility for updates as well as publishing your content.
Can you use our existing brand?
Yes. We can build on your existing logo, colours and fonts, and prepare brand assets for the web where needed. Gather real photos of your team, premises and finished work too; they give the pages material specific to your business, so arrange a photo shoot ahead of the build if you need one.
Will we own the website and manage it after launch?
Yes. You own the domain, content and code. Decide who will update news, projects and job posts, then use analytics to track form submissions, calls and WhatsApp clicks as conversions. Check which pages those enquiries started from so you have useful information for future changes.
