Choosing
Should you choose WordPress or a custom website?
WordPress suits a team that publishes often and wants to edit most of the site itself. Its plugin choices give you flexibility, though someone will need to keep the installation updated for security. Before choosing it, decide who will maintain the site and how frequently your content will change.
A custom-coded site in Next.js suits a design that needs to work outside template limits, with fast pages and close control over security. Your team will need to be comfortable asking a developer to make structural changes. An adapted template is another option for a simple site with a tight brief, provided it is reworked around your actual content.
A hosted builder such as Wix, Squarespace or Webflow suits a small site you want to run alone. You give up some control over code and speed, and moving away later can involve a rebuild. We recommend WordPress or a custom Next.js build after understanding how your team works.
Local
What Memphis organisations need from their websites
Memphis is a commercial centre for transportation and logistics. If you supply other businesses in that sector, your website needs to help a prospective buyer understand your capabilities before asking for a quote. Product or capability pages, certifications and downloadable specifications give them material to review; a quote form should collect enough detail for your team to respond.
Memphis is also home to the University of Memphis, LeMoyne–Owen College and Rhodes College. For a university or college site, think about who keeps news, project and careers pages current, and who receives each enquiry. We provide an editor for those pages, and plan the form destinations and confirmation messages with you.
Rules
Accessibility for a US website
US Department of Justice guidance says the ADA covers goods and services that businesses open to the public offer on the web, and identifies WCAG as helpful guidance. For your build, we agree an accessibility target in the brief and set up desktop and mobile page designs with that target in view. WCAG offers A, AA and AAA levels; the W3C encourages using its latest version.
How it runs
How your website project runs with us
We work remotely from India using video calls, WhatsApp and shared project boards. IST is 10h30m ahead of Eastern time and 13h30m ahead of Pacific time in winter; the difference is 1 hour less during daylight saving time, except in Arizona. The shared board gives you a place to leave feedback between calls.
- 01
Discover
Tell us who buys from you, why they choose you and what you want visitors to do. Those answers shape the sitemap.
- 02
Plan
We make wireframes before the visual design. Review the content and its order at this stage; colours come later.
- 03
Design
We prepare page designs for desktop and mobile, then refine them with your feedback before development.
- 04
Build and check
We build the site or an editable CMS and test it on real devices and browsers. Before launch, proofread each page, submit every form and confirm who receives it.
- 05
Launch
We set up the domain, email, analytics and Search Console, then walk your team through the handover.

A custom design suits specific brand or audience needs; an adapted template fits a simpler brief.
Existing content
Moving blog posts, news archives and downloads adds migration and checking work.

Questions
Asked by businesses in Memphis
Page updated 5 November 2026
Is investing in website development still worth it?
A website gives you a place to present your services and direct visitors towards an enquiry. The scope should follow what your customers need: clear service pages are easier to scan and maintain than a copy of every old page. We also prepare page structure, metadata and optimised images for search.
How much does it cost to have a website built?
There is no fixed price for every website. Features such as booking, member logins or a CRM connection add design, development and testing work. The state of your content also affects the scope: ready-to-publish copy and photos involve less work than adding copywriting, photography or translation.
Can you use our existing brand?
Yes. We build on your existing logo, colours and fonts, and prepare brand assets for the web where needed. Bring the files you already use and tell us about any parts of the brand that are still being decided, so we can account for them when planning the design.
Will we own the website?
Yes. You own the domain, content and code. Keep the domain and hosting accounts in your business’s name and grant access to the people working on the site. That gives you control of the accounts instead of having to ask an agency or freelancer to return them.
What happens after the website launches?
We provide ongoing support after launch. Your team should also decide who will keep news, project and job pages current. In analytics, track form submissions, calls and WhatsApp clicks as conversions, then check which pages those enquiries started from to see how visitors use the site.
