Choosing
Should you choose WordPress, a custom site or a website builder?
WordPress suits a team that expects to edit a lot of content itself. A custom Next.js site offers faster pages, tighter security and a design without template limits; it can still include an editor, although a developer is better placed to handle structural changes. Think about who will make those changes before choosing.
A hosted builder such as Wix, Squarespace or Webflow suits a small site you want to run alone. You give up some control over code and speed, and moving away later can mean rebuilding. A headless setup takes a different approach: it pairs a custom front end with a separate editor, giving a heavily edited site speed while adding more parts to host and maintain.
We recommend WordPress or a custom Next.js site after learning how your team works. That gives us a practical basis for the decision: who edits content, who handles structural changes and how much control you need over the build.
Local
What Lincoln organisations need from their websites
Lincoln has a substantial health workforce. For an appointment-based practice, the website needs clear service pages, practitioner profiles and opening hours, with a booking or call option that works on a phone. A visitor should be able to find the relevant service and the person providing it before deciding to get in touch.
Lincoln also has an IT economy that includes electronics firms. A B2B supplier needs product or capability pages, certifications and downloadable specifications, alongside a quote form that asks enough for the team to respond. Agree who receives those requests and what the confirmation says, so a prospective customer knows their message has been sent.
Rules
What a UK website needs to handle
If yours is a UK limited company, we include its registered number, registered office address, place of registration and limited-company status on the website. Give us the details to use when we prepare the pages.
Accessibility needs an agreed target in the brief. UK service providers must make reasonable adjustments for disabled people, so we agree the WCAG level to work towards before designing the pages.
For statistical cookies used without consent, we set up clear information and an easy way for users to object. The same approach applies to technologies used solely to adapt the site’s appearance to user preferences.
How it runs
How a website project runs with us
We work remotely over video calls, WhatsApp and shared project boards. India is 5h30m ahead of the UK, or 4h30m during British Summer Time, from the last Sunday in March to the last Sunday in October. The shared board gives us a place to keep work and feedback visible across that difference.

Checklist
What to have ready before we talk
Gather these details to make the first discussion useful and help establish the scope.
- Your main goal, such as quote requests or job applications, and who handles each enquiry.
- Services or products ranked by their importance to your business.
- Logo files in vector format, brand colours and fonts, or a note that they still need creating.
- Case studies, permitted client logos, testimonials and certifications gathered in a folder.
- Sites you like and dislike, with a short reason for each choice.
- Access details for your domain, hosting, email, analytics and Search Console, or the name of the person who holds them.
Cost & time
What affects the cost and timing of a website
The amount of design, content and testing work shapes both the quote and the schedule.
Page templates
Distinct layouts need separate design and build work; pages sharing a template take less effort.
Features
Booking, calculators, member logins, additional languages or a CRM connection add design, build and testing work.
Content migration
Moving and checking old news, blog posts and downloadable files adds work to the project.
Brand readiness
Existing logo files and a style guide reduce design work compared with deciding colours, typefaces and a logo during the project.

Questions
Asked by businesses in Lincoln
Page updated 5 November 2026
How much does it cost to have a website designed and built?
There is no fixed price. The choice between an adapted template and a custom design affects the work, as does the readiness of your content: adding real text late can mean reworking layouts. We send a free quote once we have agreed the scope with you.
Can you build the site around our existing brand?
Yes. We work with your existing logo, colours and fonts, and prepare brand assets for the web where needed. You can review the sitemap, wireframes and page designs for desktop and mobile, then give feedback before those designs are refined.
What is included when the site is handed over?
We set up your domain, email, analytics and Search Console, then walk your team through the handover. The content editor lets your team update pages, news, projects and careers without training, so agree internally who will take responsibility for those updates.
Will we own our website?
Yes. You own the domain, content and code, with no lock-in. Keep the domain and hosting accounts in your business’s name and grant access to the people working on the site. That keeps control of the accounts with you when access needs to change.
Is investing in a website still worth it?
A website gives you a place to direct visitors towards an enquiry and measure what happens next. Track form submissions, calls and WhatsApp clicks in analytics, and check which pages visitors started from. Assign someone to update news, projects and job posts after launch.
