Choosing
Should you choose WordPress, a custom site or a hosted builder?
WordPress suits a team that publishes often and wants to edit most of the site itself. Its choice of plugins gives you ways to add functionality, but someone needs to keep it updated for security. A custom-coded site in Next.js suits a business that wants fast pages and a design without template limits, and is comfortable asking a developer to make structural changes.
A hosted builder such as Wix, Squarespace or Webflow suits a small site you intend to run alone. You give up some control over code and speed, and moving away from the platform later can mean rebuilding the site. Think about who will maintain the site as well as who will publish its content.
We recommend an approach after learning how your team works. WordPress is a good fit for frequent self-service editing; a custom Next.js site can also include an editor while offering greater speed and security. The choice should leave your team comfortable with the work it will need to do after launch.
Local
What Leh businesses need from a website
Leh grows produce including apricots, walnuts and apples. A local producer or supplier has a practical reason to show what it offers clearly: product pages can describe its capabilities, display certifications and give buyers downloadable specifications. A quote form should ask for enough detail for the business to respond properly.
Tourism in Ladakh exceeded 500,000 people in 2022 and 2023. For a tourism business in Leh, the route from a visitor’s interest to an enquiry needs attention in the page design. Decide where form messages should go, who will receive them and what the confirmation should say. WhatsApp or click-to-call buttons give people using a phone another way to make contact.
How it runs
How a website project runs with us
At MSH Technologies, we work remotely from India using video calls, WhatsApp and shared project boards. You can review the work and discuss decisions with us without needing an in-person meeting.
- 01
Discover
We learn about your business, audience and goals, then agree the scope with you. Tell us what you want the website to do before we settle on its pages.
- 02
Plan
Tell us who buys from you, why they choose you and what a visitor should do on the site. Those answers shape the sitemap and give each page a purpose.
- 03
Wireframe
We put the page content in order before visual design. Your feedback at this stage should focus on what belongs on the page and what deserves priority; colours come later.
- 04
Design and build
We refine the desktop and mobile page designs with your feedback, then build the site in code or with a content management system. We test it on real devices and browsers.
- 05
Launch
We set up the domain, email, analytics and Search Console, then walk your team through the handover so you know what has been set up.
Checklist
What to have ready before we talk
Start with a ranked list of your services or products, so the navigation and home page can lead with what you most want to sell.
- Brand filesYour logo in SVG, AI or EPS, plus your colours and fonts, or a note that these still need creating.
- Website examplesA few sites you like and dislike, with a short explanation of each choice.
- Account accessLogin details for your domain, hosting, email, analytics and Search Console, or the name of whoever holds them.
- PhotosImages of your team, premises and finished work; arrange a photo shoot ahead of time if needed.
- Proof of workGather case studies, permitted client logos, testimonials, certifications and memberships in a folder.
Cost & time
What affects the cost and time needed
The work involved depends on what needs designing, building and gathering before the site is ready.
Page templates
Distinct layouts take more design and build effort than pages that share a template.
Features
Booking, member logins, calculators, multiple languages and a CRM connection add design, development and testing work.
Brand readiness
An existing logo and style guide reduce design work compared with deciding the logo, colours and typefaces during the project.
Content gathering
Service descriptions, team bios, case studies and photos take work to collect. Agree early who will provide each item.

Questions
Asked by businesses in Leh
Page updated 5 November 2026
How much does it cost to have a website built?
There is no fixed price. The work changes with the need for a custom design, a separate content editor and copy or photos that are ready to publish. A headless setup adds hosting and maintenance work, while an adapted template can suit a simple brief. We send a free quote once the scope is agreed.
How should I decide which platform to use?
Start with who will update the site and how often. List the pages your team expects to change and decide who will handle structural changes before choosing a platform. That gives you a practical basis for comparing editing control with the work you want a developer to handle later.
What should be included in the website build?
Agree the search setup and an accessibility target in the brief. Search preparation includes page titles and descriptions, a clear heading structure and an XML sitemap. WCAG groups accessibility criteria into A, AA and AAA levels; agree which target the project will use and consider the latest version.
Will I own my website?
Yes. You own your domain, content and code, with no lock-in. Keep track of who holds the relevant access as part of your handover, so your business remains able to manage those assets after the site goes live and make decisions about its future.
What happens after the website launches?
We provide ongoing support after launch, and you should also decide who will keep news, projects and job posts current. Use analytics to track form submissions, calls and WhatsApp clicks as conversions, then check which pages those enquiries started from when reviewing the site.
