Choosing
Should you choose WordPress or a custom website?
WordPress suits a team that wants to edit a lot of content itself. A custom Next.js site suits a business that wants fast pages, tight security and a design without template limits, and is happy for a developer to handle structural changes. It can still have an editor. We recommend an option after learning how your team works and what it needs to update.
The design choice is separate from the platform. A custom design fits when your brand, content or audience has specific needs. An adapted template suits a simple site with a tight brief, provided the layout is reworked around your actual content. Agree what each page needs to say before judging how much design flexibility you need.
A hosted builder such as Wix, Squarespace or Webflow suits a small site that an owner wants to run alone. You give up some control over code and speed, and a later move can mean rebuilding. A headless setup offers a custom front end with a separate editor for heavy editing, though it adds hosting and maintenance work.
Local
What Fort Lauderdale organisations need from a website
The local economy includes marine businesses, finance and insurance. For a marine engineering firm, a project portfolio needs photos and enough detail for a prospective client to assess the work. A finance or insurance practice needs clear service and partner pages, so visitors can check expertise and credentials before they make contact. Both need the content organised around what a prospective customer is trying to find.
As the county seat, Fort Lauderdale also has government organisations to serve. Their website briefs need to account for who receives each enquiry, where a form sends it and what confirmation the visitor sees. Those decisions belong in the build, before a form goes live.
Rules
What a United States website project needs to handle
Accessibility needs a place in the brief. US guidance says the ADA covers goods and services that businesses open to the public offer on the web, and identifies WCAG as helpful guidance. We agree an accessibility target with you and use it to guide the desktop and mobile page designs.
For a state or local government website covered by the relevant rule, the target is WCAG 2.1 Level AA. That gives the page design a specific standard to work towards from the outset.
How it runs
How a website project runs with us
We work remotely over video calls, WhatsApp and a shared project board. India is 10h30m ahead of Eastern time in winter, and 1 hour less during daylight saving time. The shared board gives you a place to review work and leave feedback across that difference.

Discover
We learn about your business, audience and goals, then agree the scope with you. Tell us who buys, why they choose you and what you want visitors to do; those answers shape the sitemap.
- 02
Plan the pages
We prepare wireframes before visual design. You review the content and its order on each page, leaving colour decisions for the design stage.
- 03
Build
We develop in Next.js or use WordPress when your team needs full editing control. We also provide an editor for pages, news, projects and careers.
- 04
Check
You proofread every page, submit each form and confirm who receives its messages before launch. This is the time to catch the small errors visitors notice.
- 05
Launch
We set up the domain, email, analytics and Search Console, then walk your team through the handover.

Cost & time
What affects the cost and timeline
Decide who will update the site and how often before choosing a platform; that makes editing needs part of the scope.
Page templates
Distinct layouts take more design and build effort than pages sharing a template.
Features
Booking, calculators, member logins, multiple languages and CRM connections each add design, build and testing work.
Content migration
Moving news, blog archives and downloadable files from an old site adds transfer and checking work.
Brand readiness
An existing logo and style guide reduce design work compared with deciding colours, typefaces and a logo during the project.

Questions
Asked by businesses in Fort Lauderdale
Page updated 5 November 2026
How much does it cost to have a website built?
There is no fixed price. The scope depends on the design your content and audience need, how much content must be prepared, and whether the site needs a separate editor and custom front end. We agree the scope with you before preparing a quote.
Can you design the site around our existing brand?
Yes. We build on your logo, colours and fonts, and prepare brand assets for the web where needed. Provide real headings and paragraphs early too: their length affects the layout, so a page designed around placeholder text can need changes when the actual content arrives.
What is included in website design and development?
The work covers the sitemap, page structure, visual design, build, editor, forms, search setup and launch. Agree who owns each part at the start. Before launch, search checks also need to catch issues such as missing page titles, a missing sitemap or an indexing block left in place from development.
Will we own the website?
Yes. You own the domain, content and code, with no lock-in. Keep the domain and hosting accounts in your business name and grant access to the people working on the site. That way, you retain control of those accounts when you need changes or a different provider.
What happens after the website launches?
We provide ongoing support after launch. Your team should also decide who updates news, projects and job posts. In analytics, track form submissions, calls and WhatsApp clicks as conversions, then check which pages those enquiries started from to see how visitors are using the site.
