Choosing
Should you choose WordPress or a custom website?
WordPress suits a team that publishes often and wants to edit most of the site itself. Its choice of plugins gives you options for extending the site, but someone needs to keep WordPress updated for security. Think about who will own that task after launch, alongside editing the pages.
A custom-coded site in Next.js suits you when you want fast pages and a design without template limits, and you are happy for a developer to handle structural changes. It can still include an editor for content. We recommend an approach after learning how your team works and what it needs to change.
A hosted builder such as Wix, Squarespace or Webflow suits a small site that you want to run alone. The trade-off is less control over code and speed, and moving away later can mean rebuilding. Before choosing, look beyond who will make the first edits: consider who will maintain the site and how much control you want over it.
Local
What Barasat businesses need from a website
Cotton weaving is a major industry in Barasat. For a weaving business supplying other companies, capability or product pages give buyers something specific to assess. Certifications, downloadable specifications and a quote form with enough detail to prepare a response can support that enquiry.
The city is also a trade centre for produce including rice, legumes, potatoes and coconuts. A trader’s website needs a clear route for enquiries: decide who receives quote requests, what the confirmation says and whether a mobile visitor should see WhatsApp or click-to-call.
Local schools, colleges and universities need to plan their content as well as their page structure. Agree who will gather descriptions, team biographies and photos, and who will own the content editor and launch tasks. Those decisions give the design real material to work with.
How it runs
How a website project runs with us
We work remotely from India over video calls, WhatsApp and shared project boards. You can follow the work and give feedback without needing to meet us in person.
- 01
Discover
Tell us who buys from you, why they choose you and what visitors should do on the site. We learn your goals and agree the scope with you.
- 02
Plan
We prepare wireframes before visual design. Your feedback here should focus on the content and its order on each page; colours come later.
- 03
Build
We develop the site in Next.js or WordPress and provide an editor for pages, news, projects and careers. Your team can use the editor without training.
- 04
Review
Check every page on a phone, proofread the content and submit each form. Confirm that enquiries reach the person who should receive them.
- 05
Launch and care
We set up the domain, email, analytics and Search Console, then walk your team through the handover. Ongoing support follows launch.
Checklist
What to have ready before we talk
Gather what you have, and note what still needs work.
- Your logo in SVG, AI or EPS format, plus brand colours and fonts.
- A few sites you like and dislike, with a reason for each choice.
- Access details for your domain, hosting, email and search accounts, or the name of the person who holds them.
- Real photos of your team, premises and finished work; book photography ahead if needed.
- Your main goal, such as quote requests or calls, and who handles each enquiry.
- Case studies, testimonials and certifications, plus client logos you have permission to show.
Cost & time
What affects the cost and time needed
The scope determines how much design, build and testing work the site needs.
Page templates
Distinct layouts take more design and development effort than pages that share a template.
Features
Booking, calculators, member logins, multiple languages and CRM connections add work to the build and testing.
Content
Copy and photos ready to publish keep the scope smaller; writing, photography or translation add to it.
Brand
An existing logo and style guide reduce design work compared with deciding the colours, typefaces and logo during the project.

Questions
Asked by businesses in Barasat
Page updated 5 November 2026
How much should I pay someone to design my website?
There is no fixed price. The scope changes with a custom design or an adapted template, and with a separate content editor paired with a custom front end. The latter has more components to host and maintain. We send a free quote once we agree the scope with you.
Can you use my existing branding?
Yes. We build on your existing logo, colours and fonts, and prepare brand assets for use on the web where needed. Bring the files you already use and tell us if any part of the identity is still being decided, so we can account for that work.
What search setup should be included?
A search-ready build should include page titles and descriptions, a clear heading structure, an XML sitemap, structured data and fast pages. Check for an indexing block left over from development before launch. Handling these details during the build takes less effort than correcting them afterwards.
Will I own the website?
Yes. You own the domain, content and code, with no lock-in. Hold the domain and hosting accounts in your business’s name and grant access to the people working on the site. That keeps control of the accounts with you when you need to make changes.
What should we manage after launch?
Assign someone to update news, projects and job posts, and review enquiries in analytics. Track form submissions, calls and WhatsApp clicks as conversions, then check which pages visitors started from. Keeping that responsibility clear helps your team maintain the content and see how people contact you.
