What you get
What’s included in mobile app development
App design
Screens and flows designed for iOS and Android conventions.
Cross-platform build
One React Native codebase for both platforms, with native modules where needed.
Backend & APIs
Accounts, data, notifications and admin tools behind the app.

In-app purchases and subscriptions on both stores.
Store launch
App Store and Google Play listings, submission and release.
Tools we use: React Native, Expo, Swift, Kotlin, Firebase, Node.js.
Choosing
Should you choose native or cross-platform?
We usually build with React Native. It shares a codebase across iOS and Android, while native modules handle features that need them. That gives you a way to cover both platforms without maintaining a separate app codebase for each. We discuss the features you need before settling on the approach.
A native build in Swift and Kotlin suits deep device features, heavy graphics, complex background work or access to new platform features at launch. The trade-off is maintaining separate codebases. Flutter is another option: it uses Dart and draws its own interface, which suits a heavily branded design when your team is willing to work in Dart.
A progressive web app is worth considering for a staff tool where store distribution is less useful. It avoids store review, but it will not appear in the app stores unless packaged for them. On iPhone, it can ask to send notifications only after someone adds it to the Home Screen.
Local
What Dublin organisations need from an app
Dublin is Ireland’s economic centre. For an appointment business such as a clinic, salon or gym, an app brief can centre on booking, reminders and payment, with a staff view of the day’s schedule. That gives you a clear set of screens to discuss before adding more features.
Global companies have operational bases in Dublin. If your operation includes delivery, maintenance or inspection teams, plan for forms, photos, signatures and location on each job, with records syncing to the office when signal returns.
Dublin is also Ireland’s largest education centre, with four universities. If you are planning a consumer or marketplace product for that audience, consider coverage of both app stores and analytics that show whether people return after installing.
Rules
What an app project in Ireland has to handle
If your online service relies on consent to process a child’s personal data, Ireland requires parent or guardian consent for children under 16. We set up a consent flow in the build for that situation, so the account and data screens reflect who needs to give consent.
Stripe lists Ireland as a country where businesses can sign up to accept payments. For physical goods or services used outside the app, we can set up a card checkout; digital content and subscriptions used in the app need the relevant store purchase and billing setup, subject to storefront options.
How it runs
How an app project runs with us
We work remotely over video calls, WhatsApp and shared project boards. India is 5h30m ahead of Ireland, or 4h30m during Irish summer time. The shared board gives you a place to leave feedback and see the work between calls across that time difference.
- 01
Discover
We learn about your business, audience and goals, then agree the scope with you. Bring the main task you want people to complete.
- 02
Design
We design screens for iOS and Android and refine them with your feedback before writing code. Review the flow as someone using the app would.
- 03
Test the prototype
Put the clickable design in front of a few customers or staff. Changes to a screen are far cheaper at this stage than after it is built.
- 04
Build and test
We build the agreed product and test it on real devices and browsers. Your feedback remains part of the work.
- 05
Submit
We handle store listings, submission and review under your own developer accounts. You retain those accounts for the release.
Checklist
What to have ready before we talk
A few practical details will help us discuss the scope.
- List what users must do in the first release, in the order they would do it.
- List your website, CRM, booking system, ERP software and payment provider where relevant; note their APIs and who holds admin access.
- Start registering company developer accounts early. Organisation accounts need a D-U-N-S number for business verification.
- For a new personal Google Play account, plan a closed test with at least 12 testers opted in for at least 14 days.
- For an app with login, prepare a working demo account and live backend for Apple’s submission review.
Cost & time
What affects the cost and timeline
The scope determines how much design, build and testing work is needed.
Real-time features
Live tracking and chat need persistent connections and more backend work than screens that load data on request.
Integrations
A payment gateway, CRM, booking system or hardware connection adds setup, testing and failure handling.
Interface and layouts
Custom animation, extra languages, right-to-left scripts and tablet layouts add design and testing across screens.
Existing systems
A backend with a documented API can reduce the work; a new backend and admin panel need to be built alongside the app.
Avoid
Mistakes to avoid with app development
Wrapping a website
Apple expects more than a repackaged site. Give people a useful app task before committing to an app shell.
Asking for notifications immediately
Request permission when the benefit is clear, such as after an order. On Android 13 and later, notifications stay off until the user allows them.
Adding an analytics or advertising SDK late
Update the store privacy answers when the SDK changes. Google Play’s Data safety form must cover data collected by third-party SDKs.
Questions

Page updated 5 November 2026
How much does it cost to develop an app?
There is no fixed price: the scope drives the cost. Separate customer, driver or staff flows add screens and permissions; offline editing with later syncing takes more work than showing last-loaded data; and purchases or subscriptions add payment work. We discuss those choices with you when agreeing the scope.
How do I choose an app development company?
Ask how the company will check what happens after people start using the app. Analytics and crash reporting belong in the first release. Discuss which screens people use, where they give up and which devices crash, and ask how those findings will be made available to you.
What is included beyond the app screens?
Plan for a backend and an admin panel as well as the app on the phone. The backend stores accounts and data; the admin panel gives staff a way to edit content, look up customers, issue refunds or block abusive accounts without calling a developer.
Can the app use the same backend as my website?
Yes. We can build a shared backend for your app, website and admin tools, keeping customer accounts and data in one place. This gives you a specific system to include in the scope discussion, including the information your staff need to manage through the admin tools.
Does everyone need to create an account?
No. For an app without significant account-based features, Apple’s guidelines ask that people can use it without logging in. If the app does allow account creation, we need to include an in-app deletion path; Google Play also requires a web link for deletion requests.
What happens after the app launches?
Plan for maintenance and measurement after release. Google Play requires apps and updates to target a recent Android API level. Some JavaScript and content fixes can go out over the air, while native changes need a store release. Track returning users, task drop-off and crash-free rate. You own your code, content and domain.
