Mobile app development company in Amsterdam
You get a mobile app with screens designed for iOS and Android, a backend for accounts and data, and help submitting it to the app stores. If you run a business in Amsterdam, we can take your idea from screen design through to release. At MSH Technologies, we are a web, app and AI studio in India, and we work with you throughout the build.

Choosing
Should you choose cross-platform, native or a web app?
We usually build with React Native, sharing a codebase across iOS and Android and adding native modules where a feature needs them. It suits apps built around accounts, forms, lists, maps, bookings, payments or content. Sharing code reduces the amount you need to maintain across platforms, while still allowing platform-specific work where the product calls for it.
Native development fits an app that needs deep device features, heavy graphics, complex background work or new platform features at launch. You maintain separate Swift and Kotlin codebases. Flutter is another cross-platform option: it draws its own interface and suits highly customised branding, with the trade-off that your team works in Dart.
A progressive web app can suit a staff tool and skips store review. It does not appear in the app stores unless packaged for them, though, and on iPhone it can ask for notification permission only after being added to the Home Screen. Talk through your requirements with the people who design and build your product, so the choice reflects how it will be used.

What Amsterdam organisations need from an app
Financial and legal organisations in Zuidas may already have customers using a web platform. When people use that service frequently, an app can give them access to the same accounts and data through a mobile interface. Reusing the existing backend also gives the organisation a shared place to manage that information.
For delivery and other field teams working around Amsterdam’s port, an app needs to capture the details of a job: forms, photos, signatures and location. Signal affects the design. Showing previously loaded information offline is a smaller task than allowing staff to create or edit records without signal, then resolving conflicts when their work syncs back to the office.
Rules
What an app project in the Netherlands has to handle
For a webshop checkout, iDEAL, now shown as iDEAL | Wero, lets consumers pay through their own bank. If your app uses that checkout, we set up the payment integration and test the route from checkout to payment.
E-commerce services must meet WCAG 2.1 level AA and publish an easy-to-find, accessible accessibility statement. For an app providing such a service, we design its screens against that standard and set up a place for the statement that people can find and use.
How it runs
How a mobile app development project runs with us
We work remotely over video calls, WhatsApp and shared project boards. India is 4h30m ahead, or 3h30m ahead during Central European Summer Time, from the last Sunday in March to the last Sunday in October. Shared boards keep feedback visible between calls.
- 01
Design
We prepare iOS and Android screens and refine them with your feedback before writing code. You can check that the steps match how your customers or staff work.
- 02
Prototype
Put the clickable design in front of a few real customers or staff. Their feedback helps you change awkward screens while changes are less expensive than after the build.
- 03
Test
Use test builds on your own phone through TestFlight or the internal or closed testing tracks on Google Play. Share feedback from using the app.
- 04
Submit
We handle store listings, submission and review under your own developer accounts. You retain access to the accounts used for release.
- 05
Allow for review
If the app has a login, provide a working demo account and a live backend for Apple’s submission. Leave room in the launch plan to fix and resubmit an incomplete or crashing build.
Checklist
What to have ready before we talk
Bring the following details to make the first discussion useful.
- List what users must do in the first release, in the order they will do it.
- Note the website, CRM, booking system, ERP or payment provider involved, their APIs and who holds admin access.
- Start registering developer accounts in your company’s name; organisation accounts need a D-U-N-S number.
- Prepare a privacy policy matching the data the app collects, for its Apple listing and the app itself.
- Plan account deletionGoogle Play requires an in-app deletion path and a web request link for apps that allow account creation.
Cost & time
What affects the cost and timeline of mobile app development
The work grows with the flows, connections and content your app needs.
User types
Customers, drivers and staff each need their own screens and permissions, even with a shared backend.
Live features
Tracking, chat and presence need persistent connections and more backend work than screens that load data on request.
Integrations
A payment gateway, maps, CRM or booking system adds setup, testing and failure handling.
Screen variations
Custom animation, additional languages, right-to-left scripts and tablet layouts add design and testing across screens.
User content
Apps with user-generated content need filtering, reporting, user blocking and published contact details for Apple’s requirements.
Avoid
Mistakes to avoid with mobile app development
Making sign-up the first step
Let people use the app without logging in when it has no significant account-based features. Apple’s guidelines ask for this, and it lets users see value before registering.
Wrapping an existing website
Plan useful app features beyond the site itself. Apple’s guidelines expect more than a repackaged website, and a simple shell risks rejection.
Asking for notifications immediately
Request permission when the benefit is clear, such as after an order. On Android 13 and later, notifications stay off until the user allows them.
Questions

Page updated 5 November 2026
How much does it cost to have an app developed?
There is no fixed price for an app. The scope affects the quote: accounts and admin tools require backend work, while in-app purchases or subscriptions add payment work on the stores. We would first agree what the app needs to do, then discuss a quote for that scope.
How should I choose an app development company?
Choose a team that can explain how it will handle usage data and notification controls. Ask what it will use to report crashes and show where people leave the app. Also ask how notification categories will be managed, including how users can switch off messages they do not want.
What is included in a mobile app build?
A typical build includes the phone app, a backend for accounts and data, and an admin panel. The panel gives staff a way to edit content, look up customers, issue refunds or block abusive accounts without calling a developer. We also set up targeted push notifications where the product needs them.
Who owns the app and its code?
You own your code, content and domain, with no lock-in. Keep the developer accounts, signing access and code repository in your business’s name too. Accounts or repositories held in an agency’s or freelancer’s name make the app harder to move if you change who maintains it later.
What happens after the app launches?
Plan for bug fixes, operating system updates and new features after release. Google Play requires apps to target a recent Android API level, so maintenance releases need attention. Some JavaScript and content fixes can go out over the air; native code changes and new permissions still need a store release.
How are payments handled inside the app?
The payment route depends on what you sell. Google Play billing is required for digital goods and subscriptions sold in the app, while it must not be used for physical goods or services such as groceries, transport or event tickets. Some regions allow alternative billing, so the product and checkout need to be considered together.
